AI Diwali Video Maker for Personal Diwali Wishes

VdoBloom's AI Diwali video maker turns one photo of you, your partner or your family into a short Diwali wishes video. The AI places the people from your photo among glowing diyas, marigold garlands and sparklers, and "Happy Diwali" (or शुभ दीपावली and six other Indian-language greetings) is set on screen with your names and a one-line message. The clip is vertical 9:16, sized for WhatsApp Status and Instagram Reels.

You only need the photo. Names and a message are optional, there is no template to edit and nothing to design first. A greeting usually takes 2 to 3 minutes. The default Diwali video costs 7 credits, new accounts get free credits at sign-up, and there is no subscription: one-time credits never expire, so leftovers carry over to Bhai Dooj, Christmas and New Year.

Diwali (Lakshmi Puja) falls on Sunday, 8 November 2026 by most panchangs, with Dhanteras two days before and Bhai Dooj two days after. Regional calendars can differ by a day.

How it works

  1. 1

    Upload a photo

A clear solo, couple or family photo. Festive clothes look best because the outfits carry into the video.

  2. 2

    Add names and a message

From ("The Mehra family"), To ("Nani", shown as "Dear Nani") and up to 120 characters of message, in English or an Indian script. Pick the language of the big greeting line. All optional.

  3. 3

    Generate and share

The Diwali style is already selected. Press generate, wait 2 to 3 minutes, then download the MP4 for WhatsApp, Status or Reels.

Why use this tool

  • Your own photo, not a stock template

The people in the video are the people in your photo, so the wish is personally from you and not another forwarded graphic.

  • Greeting text that is spelled right

The video model draws no lettering. "Happy Diwali", your names and your message are typeset onto the finished clip, so nothing comes out garbled.

  • Hindi and other Indian scripts

The greeting line can be shown in Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada or Malayalam, and you can type names and message in those scripts too.

  • One tool for the whole season

Switch the festival to Bhai Dooj, Chhath Puja, Christmas or New Year and reuse the same photo.

What does the Diwali video look like?

The Diwali scene is warm night light: brass diyas glowing in soft golden bokeh, orange marigold garlands and sparklers throwing small golden sparks, in a gold and saffron palette. The camera moves gently around the people from your photo. A little after the middle of the clip the text fades in over a soft dark band, and the last frame holds for 1.5 seconds so the wish can be read.

  • "Dear …" with the name from the To field (up to 40 characters)
  • The greeting line in large lettering: Happy Diwali, शुभ दीपावली, दिवाळीच्या हार्दिक शुभेच्छा, শুভ দীপাবলি, દિવાળીની શુભકામનાઓ, and more
  • Your message (up to 120 characters)
  • "— your name" from the From field (up to 40 characters)

Diwali video ideas for family, friends and customers

Each greeting takes a few minutes, so you can make a different one for each group instead of sending one clip to everyone.

  • A family photo in festive clothes for the extended-family WhatsApp group, signed "— The Sharma family".
  • A couple photo for friends, and a separate one addressed "Dear Maa & Papa".
  • A Hindi or Marathi message for elders and an English one for colleagues.
  • Shops and small businesses: a team photo with "To: our valued customers". For product promos, use the Diwali product video tool instead.

Bhai Dooj and Chhath Puja wishes from the same photo

The festival greeting tool also has Bhai Dooj (puja thali, roli tilak and mithai, "Happy Bhai Dooj" or भाई दूज की शुभकामनाएं) and Chhath Puja (a riverbank at sunset with soop baskets and floating diyas) styles. Change the festival after the Diwali video is done and send a second wish without a new photo.

How much does a Diwali video cost?

Pricing is per video in credits: the default greeting (Seedance 2 Mini, 4 seconds, 480p) is 7 credits, and the 5-second 720p clips on this page were 17 credits each. New accounts get free credits at sign-up, there is no subscription to start, and one-time pack credits never expire. The exact price shows before you generate, and a failed video refunds its credits automatically.

Which photo works best?

A sharp, front-facing photo where every face is well lit works best. The photo becomes the first frame, so outfits and the setting carry into the video.

Solo, couple and family photos all work. Large group photos with very small faces give weaker results.

Upload only photos of yourself or of people who agreed to it. You confirm you are 18 or over before uploading.

Frequently asked questions

Can I write the Diwali greeting in Hindi or another Indian language?

Yes. The big greeting line can be set to Hindi (शुभ दीपावली), Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada or Malayalam, and names and the message can be typed in those scripts. Punjabi (Gurmukhi) and Odia scripts are not supported yet.

Can I use a group or family photo?

Yes. Family and couple photos work well when every face is clearly visible and well lit. Very large groups with small faces give weaker results.

Is the AI Diwali video maker free?

New accounts get free credits at sign-up, and the default Diwali video costs 7 credits, so you can try one without paying. Free-tier videos carry a watermark. There is no subscription; one-time credits never expire.

How long does it take?

Usually 2 to 3 minutes for the default settings. Longer or higher-resolution clips take a little longer.

Can I send it to my customers?

Yes, many shops send a Diwali wish with the shop name in the From field and "our valued customers" in To. Use a photo of yourself or your team, with their agreement.

Do I need to design an image first?

No. One ordinary photo is the whole input. The festive scene, camera movement and greeting text are all added for you.

Is the depiction respectful of different traditions?

The Diwali style shows diyas, marigolds, sparklers and warm lamp light, which are shared across Hindu, Jain and Sikh celebrations, and no deities. If you want a specific puja setting, describe it yourself on the Image to Video tab.

Will the faces change?

Your photo is the first frame and the video keeps the same people, faces and outfits. Small changes can appear with fast movement, so a clear, front-facing photo gives the most faithful result.
