Diwali Greeting Video Maker: Festival Wishes Starring Your Own Photo
VdoBloom's festival greeting video maker turns your photo into a short animated greeting for Diwali, Bhai Dooj, Chhath Puja, Holi, Eid, Christmas / New Year, Raksha Bandhan or a birthday. You upload a solo, couple or family photo, pick the festival, and optionally add who it is from, who it is for and a one-line message. The AI places you in the festival's scene (glowing diyas, marigolds and sparklers for Diwali; clouds of gulal for Holi; a crescent moon and lanterns for Eid) and the greeting, such as "Happy Diwali", is set on screen with your name and held on the last frame. The default is a vertical 9:16 clip for WhatsApp, Status and Instagram.
Is it free? New accounts get 10 free credits and the default greeting (Seedance 2 Mini, 4 seconds, 480p) costs 7 credits, so your first Diwali greeting is free. Free-tier videos carry a VdoBloom watermark; watermark-free downloads come with a paid plan. In India the Starter pack is 75 credits for ₹299, which covers ten default greetings; elsewhere the Lite pack is 300 credits for $19.50 one-time (credits never expire) or $15 a month.
It is for anyone tired of forwarding the same greeting image as everyone else: families sending one wish to every relative, friends making a different clip for each group, and shops and small businesses greeting their customers by name. Diwali falls on 8 November 2026 (local panchangs can differ by a day), so there is time to make one per group.

Make this with my photo
How it works
- 1
Upload your photo
A clear solo, couple or family photo with faces well lit. The photo is the first frame, so the outfits you are wearing carry into the video; festive clothes look best.
- 2
Pick the festival
Diwali, Bhai Dooj, Chhath Puja, Holi, Eid, Christmas / New Year, Raksha Bandhan or Birthday. Each one sets the scene, the colours and the greeting line, and you can pick the language the greeting is written in.
- 3
Add names and a message (optional)
From ("Priya & family"), To ("Sharma ji" or "our valued customers") and a short message up to 120 characters, such as "Wishing you light, joy and prosperity". Only the photo is required.
- 4
Generate
The tab opens on Seedance 2 Mini, 4 seconds, 480p, 9:16 (7 credits). You can raise the length up to 15 seconds (30 on Seedance 2.5) or the resolution; the price shows first. A greeting usually takes about 2–3 minutes.
- 5
Download the MP4 and send it to family groups, post it on Status or Instagram Stories. It is saved privately in My Creations.
Why use this tool
You are in the greeting
Your own photo is animated into the festival scene, so the wish is personally from you and not another recycled graphic.
Greeting text spelled right
The model draws no lettering. "Happy Diwali", "Eid Mubarak" or "Merry Christmas", plus your names and message, are typeset onto the finished clip.
Names and wishes in Indian scripts
Type the message or names in Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada or Malayalam script and they are set in a matching Noto font. Arabic script works for Eid wishes.
Six occasions, one tool
Diwali, Holi, Eid, Christmas / New Year, Raksha Bandhan and birthdays, so the same photo covers the whole festive calendar.
Business greetings
Put your shop or brand name in "From" and "our valued customers" in "To" for a quick customer greeting.
Private and refundable
Greetings never appear in the public gallery or sitemap, and a failed generation refunds its credits automatically.
Which festivals can you make a greeting video for?
Each festival template is a written scene for the model plus a greeting line and colour for the text. The people in your photo stay the subject.
| Festival | What the scene looks like | Greeting on screen |
|---|---|---|
| Diwali | Glowing brass diyas, marigold garlands, sparklers throwing golden sparks, gold and saffron night light | Happy Diwali |
| Holi | Slow-motion bursts of pink, yellow, blue and green gulal, water splashes in sunlight | Happy Holi |
| Eid | Crescent moon in a deep blue sky, gold geometric patterns, dates and hospitality props | Eid Mubarak |
| Christmas / New Year | Christmas tree with fairy lights, snow-dusted pine, falling snow, red and gold ornaments | Merry Christmas |
| Raksha Bandhan | Rakhi threads in gold and red, boxes of mithai, rose petals, warm family gathering | Happy Raksha Bandhan |
| Birthday | Rising balloons, falling gold confetti, sparklers and candles in pink and gold light | Happy Birthday |
How much does a Diwali greeting video cost?
You pay per video in credits, set by the model, length and resolution. The greeting text and names are added at no extra cost, and the exact price shows before you generate.
| Model | Resolutions | Max length | 5-second greeting | 10-second greeting |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Seedance 2 Mini (default) | 480p, 720p | 15 s | 8 credits (480p) / 17 (720p) | 16 credits (480p) / 33 (720p) |
| Seedance 2 Fast | 480p, 720p | 15 s | 24 / 50 | 48 / 100 |
| Seedance 2 | 480p, 720p, 1080p, 4K | 15 s | 38 (480p) / 82 (720p) | 76 / 163 |
| Seedance 2.5 | 480p, 720p, 1080p | 30 s | 56 (480p) / 126 (720p) | 112 / 252 |

How many greetings do the free credits and packs make?
One-time pack credits never expire, so credits left after Diwali carry over to Christmas, Holi, Eid and Raksha Bandhan.
| Greeting settings | Credits each | 10 free sign-up credits | India Starter: 75 credits (₹299) | Lite: 300 credits ($19.50) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Seedance 2 Mini, 4 s, 480p (default) | 7 | 1 greeting (watermarked) | 10 greetings | 42 greetings |
| Seedance 2 Mini, 5 s, 720p | 17 | — | 4 greetings | 17 greetings |
| Seedance 2 Mini, 10 s, 720p | 33 | — | 2 greetings | 9 greetings |
What text appears on the greeting?
The lines fade in one after another a little after the middle of the clip, over a soft dark band, and the last frame holds for 1.5 seconds. Lines you leave empty are dropped, so a greeting with no names shows just the festival wish.
- "Dear …" with the name from the To field (up to 40 characters)
- The festival greeting in large script lettering, for example "Happy Diwali" or "Eid Mubarak"
- Your message (up to 120 characters)
- "— Priya & family" from the From field (up to 40 characters)
Diwali greeting video ideas
Because each greeting takes a few minutes and starts at 7 credits, you can make a different one for each group instead of one clip for everyone.
- A family photo in festive clothes for the extended-family WhatsApp group, signed "— The Sharma family".
- A couple photo for friends, and a separate clip addressed "Dear Maa & Papa" for parents.
- Shops and small businesses: your team photo with "To: our valued customers" and a short thank-you message. For product promos, see the Diwali product video tool.
- A message in Hindi, Marathi or Gujarati for elders and in English for colleagues.
- Plan ahead: the same photo works for Bhai Dooj and Raksha Bandhan wishes to siblings, and for Christmas and New Year later in the season.
Tips for a better festival greeting
Small choices in the photo and text make the biggest difference to how the greeting looks on a phone.
- Use a sharp, well-lit photo with faces clearly visible. Very dark night photos lose detail once the scene's own glow is added.
- Festive outfits suit every template; a plain T-shirt photo still works but looks less like the occasion.
- Keep the message to one short line so it reads at a glance on a phone.
- Make the 7-credit default first, then re-make your favourite at 720p or 10 seconds for Status.
- Leave shot-by-shot timing on for longer clips so the video cuts between several camera beats instead of one slow move.
What it can't do yet
The festival greeting tool makes one animated clip from one photo with your wish on it. It is not a full video editor.
- There is no soundtrack: the clip is silent. Add festive music when posting to Status or Instagram, or generate a track with the AI Music Generator and join them in the Timeline Editor.
- The festival greeting line can be shown in English, Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada or Malayalam where a standard phrase exists for that festival; otherwise it falls back to English and the tab tells you. Punjabi (Gurmukhi) and Odia scripts can't be drawn yet.
- Templates cover six occasions. For Pongal, Onam, Navratri, Durga Puja or Chhath, describe the scene yourself on the Image to Video tab and send the wish as the message alongside the clip.
- The Christmas / New Year template shows "Merry Christmas"; for a New Year wish, put it in your message line.
- You confirm you are 18 or over and have permission to use everyone's photo before uploading.
Frequently asked questions
How do I make a Diwali greeting video with my photo?
Upload your photo to VdoBloom's Festival Greeting tool, choose Diwali, optionally add your name, the recipient and a message, and generate. In about 2–3 minutes you get a vertical video of you surrounded by diyas, marigolds and sparklers, with "Happy Diwali" and your name on screen, ready for WhatsApp.
Is the Diwali greeting video maker free?
You can make one free. New accounts get 10 free credits and the default greeting costs 7 credits. Free-tier videos carry a watermark; watermark-free downloads come with a paid plan, such as the Starter pack at 75 credits for ₹299 in India.
When is Diwali in 2026?
Diwali (Lakshmi Puja) falls on Sunday, 8 November 2026 by most panchangs, with Dhanteras two days before and Bhai Dooj two days after. Regional calendars can differ by a day.
Can I write the Diwali message in Hindi?
Yes. Your message and names can be typed in Devanagari (Hindi, Marathi), Bengali, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada or Malayalam script, and they are set in a matching Noto font. The big greeting line can also be switched to शुभ दीपावली (Hindi) or the Diwali greeting in Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada or Malayalam.
Which festivals are supported?
Six templates: Diwali, Holi, Eid, Christmas / New Year, Raksha Bandhan and Birthday. Each has its own scene and greeting line, such as "Eid Mubarak" or "Happy Raksha Bandhan".
Can I make a Diwali greeting video for my business customers?
Yes. Upload a photo of yourself or your team, put the shop or brand name in "From" and "our valued customers" in "To", and add a one-line message. For animated product promos, VdoBloom also has a separate Diwali product video tool.
How is this different from forwarding a greeting image?
The video is built from your own photo, so it is personally from you. Moving lights and colour around your face stand out in family groups where the same forwarded images circulate every festival.
Does the greeting video have music?
No, the clip is silent. Add a song when posting to WhatsApp Status or Instagram, or create one with VdoBloom's AI Music Generator and join it to the video in the Timeline Editor.
Can I use a family photo with several people?
Yes, family and couple photos work. Results are best when every face is clearly visible and well lit; large group photos with small faces give weaker results.
Are my photos and greetings private?
Yes. Festival greetings are always private: they never appear in VdoBloom's public gallery, sitemap, embeds or remix feeds.
