AI Song Cover Generator for Songs You Own

The VdoBloom AI song cover generator takes a song you own and makes a new version of it. Upload your track, describe a style such as "lofi jazz, soft piano, brushed drums", and the AI re-records the same melody in that genre. The same tool can also extend a song from any point, sing new vocals over your instrumental, or build a backing track under a vocal you already recorded.

Is it free? New accounts get 10 free credits, enough for two covers. A cover on the Suno engine costs 5 credits and returns two versions; the MiniMax Music Cover engine costs 12 credits for one version. After that, 300 credits are $19.50 as a one-time pack that never expires, or $15 a month on a plan.

It is made for songwriters and bedroom producers who want to hear a demo in another genre, singers who need a backing band, and creators who want several styles of their own track for different videos. Voices are generic AI singers you steer with a style prompt and a male or female choice; the tool does not clone real artists' voices, and it only works on music you have the rights to.

How it works

  1. 1

    Upload your song

Add an audio file of a song you own, up to 25 MB and 8 minutes. Your own recording, demo or a track you are licensed to edit all work.

  2. 2

    Choose what should happen

Pick New style to restyle the song, Add vocals to sing over an instrumental, Add instrumental to put a backing track under a vocal, or Extend to continue the song from a point you choose.

  3. 3

    Describe the sound

Type the genre, instruments and mood. Optionally add lyrics, a title, a female or male voice, or switch on Instrumental for a version without vocals.

  4. 4

    Confirm rights and generate

Tick the rights box and press the action button. The new versions appear in the panel as MP3 downloads and are saved to My Creations.

Why use this tool

  • Four actions on one form

Restyle, Add vocals, Add instrumental and Extend all start from the same upload, so you can turn a rough demo into a finished arrangement step by step.

  • Two versions per Suno run

The Suno engine returns two takes of each cover, so you can pick the stronger one without paying twice.

  • Second restyle engine

MiniMax Music Cover returns one version for songs from 6 seconds to 6 minutes, steered by a style description of at least 10 characters.

  • Your lyrics, your title

Paste lyrics with [Verse] and [Chorus] tags (up to 5,000 characters on Suno), name the track, and choose a female or male voice, or let the AI decide.

  • Extend from any point

Use the slider to choose where the AI picks the song up, then describe where it should go, such as building to a bigger chorus.

  • Credits back on failure

If a run fails, the credits are refunded automatically. Prices are fixed per run and shown before you start.

What each action does

Choose the action by what you already have and what is missing from the track.

Which voices can it sing with?

The singing voices are AI vocals, not copies of real singers. You shape them in two ways: the Voice setting (Any, Female or Male) and the style text, where you can describe the delivery, for example "soulful female pop vocals", "breathy indie male vocal" or "powerful rock belt". There are no celebrity or artist voice models, and you cannot upload someone else's voice to imitate.

For a voice that speaks rather than sings, design one from a description with AI Voice Design.

Is the AI song cover generator free?

You can try it free with the 10 credits every new account receives: that covers two Suno covers, each with two versions to choose from. The MiniMax engine needs 12 credits, so it takes a small top-up. Credits in one-time packs never expire, which suits occasional projects; subscription credits refresh each billing cycle.

Tips for a better AI cover

The style text does most of the work. Specific prompts give recognisable genres; vague ones drift.

  • Name the genre, two or three instruments and the mood: "acoustic folk, fingerpicked guitar, light percussion, warm".
  • Keep the source clean. A well-mixed file restyles better than a phone recording with room noise.
  • For Add vocals, upload a true instrumental. If you only have a full mix, split it first with the AI vocal remover.
  • Add structure tags such as [Verse], [Chorus] and [Bridge] to your lyrics so the vocal lands where you expect.
  • When extending, start just before a section ends so the continuation picks up the groove naturally.
  • Generate on Suno first to compare two takes cheaply, then try the MiniMax engine on the same upload for a different take.

Style prompt examples by genre

Paste one of these into the style box and adjust the instruments and mood to taste:

  • Lofi: lofi hip hop, dusty vinyl crackle, mellow Rhodes piano, relaxed boom bap drums.
  • Acoustic: acoustic folk, fingerpicked guitar, soft brushed percussion, intimate and warm.
  • Jazz: smooth jazz trio, upright bass, brushed drums, soft piano, late-night club feel.
  • EDM: festival EDM, big synth leads, four-on-the-floor kick, euphoric build and drop.
  • Rock: punchy alt rock, distorted guitars, driving drums, energetic and raw.
  • Country: modern country, twangy electric guitar, steel guitar, upbeat Nashville groove.
  • Cinematic: orchestral cinematic, sweeping strings, big percussion, emotional and epic.
  • R&B: slow R&B, warm bass, airy pads, crisp snaps, smooth and intimate.

Ideas for using it

Hearing your own song in a new style is useful well beyond curiosity.

  • Songwriters: test whether a ballad works better as pop, country or EDM before booking studio time.
  • Singers: turn an a cappella recording into a full arrangement with Add instrumental.
  • Producers: get vocal ideas over a beat with Add vocals, then re-record them yourself.
  • Creators: make a lofi, acoustic and upbeat version of your channel theme for different video types.
  • Musicians: extend a short loop or demo into a full-length track, then turn it into a music video.

Rights, limits and refusals

Only upload music you own or are licensed to edit; covers of other artists' songs are not allowed, and you must tick a rights confirmation before every run. The music provider also refuses uploads that match existing commercial recordings, so a famous song will usually be rejected. Uploads can be up to 25 MB and 8 minutes long (at least 6 seconds). MiniMax Music Cover accepts songs from 6 seconds to 6 minutes. Style text and lyrics go through content moderation.

Frequently asked questions

What is an AI song cover generator?

It is a tool that re-records a song with AI, keeping the melody while changing the genre, instruments or vocals. On VdoBloom you upload a song you own, describe the new style and get new versions as MP3 files.

Can I make an AI cover of a famous song?

No. The tool is for songs you own or have permission to use, and the provider refuses uploads that match existing commercial recordings. Use it on your own recordings and demos.

Can it make a song sound like a specific singer?

No. VdoBloom does not offer real-artist voice models or voice cloning for covers. You choose a female or male AI voice and describe the vocal style in words.

Is the AI song cover generator free?

New accounts get 10 free credits. A Suno cover costs 5 credits and returns two versions, so you can make two covers for free. The MiniMax engine costs 12 credits per version.

Can I add vocals to my instrumental?

Yes. Choose Add vocals, upload your instrumental, describe the vocal style in at least 3 characters and optionally paste your lyrics. It costs 5 credits.

Can AI make my song longer?

Yes. Choose Extend, move the slider to the point where the song should continue, and optionally describe the direction. It costs 5 credits.

How long can my song be?

Uploads can be 6 seconds to 8 minutes and up to 25 MB. The MiniMax restyle engine takes songs from 6 seconds to 6 minutes.

Can I get an instrumental version only?

Yes. On the Suno engine, switch on Instrumental (no vocals) when restyling or extending, and the result comes back without a sung line.

How long does an AI cover take?

Usually a minute or two, and longer when the provider queue is busy. You can leave the page while it works; finished versions are saved to My Creations.

Why was my song refused?

The most common reason is that the audio matches an existing commercial recording. Otherwise check that the file is under 25 MB, between 6 seconds and 8 minutes, and that the rights box is ticked. Failed runs are refunded automatically.
