AI Vocal Remover: Separate Vocals and Instrumental from Any Song

The VdoBloom AI vocal remover splits a song into two clean tracks: the vocals on their own (an acapella) and the music without vocals (an instrumental or karaoke backing track). Upload an MP3, WAV or M4A, and the AI separates it in the cloud. The same tool can also split a song into up to 12 individual stems such as drums, bass, guitar and keys, or turn it into a karaoke video with the lyrics timed to the singing.

Is it free? New accounts get 10 free credits, and a vocal removal costs 4 credits, so your first two songs are covered. A full stem split is 20 credits and a karaoke video is 14. After that, 300 credits are $19.50 as a one-time pack that never expires (75 vocal removals), or $15 a month on a plan.

It is made for singers who want a backing track to practise or perform over, producers and DJs who need an acapella or drum stem for a remix, content creators cleaning up music for a video, and anyone who wants a karaoke version of their own song.

How it works

  1. 1

    Upload your song

Add an audio file such as MP3, WAV or M4A, up to 25 MB and 8 minutes long. The tool checks the length and shows the price of every option next to it.

  2. 2

    Choose what you need

Pick Vocal remover for vocals plus instrumental, All stems for up to 12 separate instrument tracks, or Karaoke video for an instrumental with on-screen lyrics.

  3. 3

    Confirm your rights

Tick the box confirming you own the song or have permission to use it. The split only runs on music you are allowed to edit.

  4. 4

    Split and download

Press Split Song (or Make Karaoke Video). Each track downloads as an MP3, karaoke videos download as MP4, and everything is saved to My Creations.

Why use this tool

  • Vocals and instrumental in one run

Get the isolated vocal and the backing track as two separate files, ready for karaoke, practice, remixing or a cover recording.

  • Up to 12 stems

Go beyond two tracks and pull out drums, bass, guitar, keys and other parts, so you can mute, rebalance or sample a single instrument.

  • Karaoke video maker

The karaoke mode removes the vocals, transcribes the sung words and renders a video with each line highlighted word by word in time with the original singing.

  • Landscape or vertical

Karaoke videos render at 16:9 (1280×720) for YouTube or 9:16 (720×1280) for Shorts, Reels and TikTok, over a choice of five gradient backgrounds.

  • Price shown before you split

Each mode has a fixed price that appears next to it after upload, so a long song costs the same as a short one.

  • Refunded if it fails

If a separation fails, the credits for that run are returned to your balance automatically.

Vocal remover, stem splitter or karaoke video: which mode?

All three modes start from the same upload. Choose by what you plan to do with the result.

How much does it cost to remove vocals?

Prices are per song, not per minute, so a six-minute track costs the same as a two-minute one. Here is what the free credits and the smallest pack cover:

Is the AI vocal remover free?

You can try it for free. Every new account receives 10 credits, which covers two vocal removals with full-quality MP3 downloads. Stem splits and karaoke videos need a small credit top-up. One-time credit packs never expire, so occasional users only pay when they actually split a song. Accounts on the free tier download karaoke videos with a watermark; paid accounts download them clean.

How the karaoke video maker works

Karaoke mode chains three steps. First, the song is separated into vocals and instrumental. Next, speech recognition listens to the isolated vocal, which is far cleaner than the full mix, and times every sung word. Finally, the lyrics are grouped into lines and burned onto a gradient background over the instrumental, with each word filling in as it is sung.

You can type a song title to show before the first line, pick a background (Midnight, Sunset, Ocean, Forest or Mono) and choose landscape or vertical. If you paste the lyrics (up to 800 characters), the transcription uses them to get the spelling right. Karaoke videos work on songs up to 6 minutes long.

Tips for the cleanest separation

Separation quality depends mostly on the source file. These habits give cleaner results:

  • Start from the highest-quality file you have: a WAV or a high-bitrate MP3 separates more cleanly than a heavily compressed copy.
  • Use the original studio mix rather than a live recording with crowd noise, which bleeds into both tracks.
  • Songs with heavy reverb or doubled vocals can leave faint ghosts in the instrumental; use the stem split if you need tighter control over each part.
  • For a karaoke video, paste the lyrics so names, slang and repeated lines are spelled correctly.
  • Trim long intros or outros before uploading if you only need part of the song.

What people use a vocal remover for

Removing vocals is one of the most common audio jobs for musicians and creators.

  • Singers: practice tracks, performance backing tracks and recording your own cover over the instrumental.
  • Producers and DJs: acapellas for remixes and mashups, drum or bass stems for sampling.
  • Teachers and students: isolate one instrument to learn a part by ear.
  • Video creators: use the instrumental under a voiceover, or post a vertical karaoke clip.
  • Songwriters: pull the vocal from an old demo to re-record the music around it.

Limits and rights

Uploads can be up to 25 MB and between 6 seconds and 8 minutes long; karaoke videos are limited to 6 minutes. The tool separates audio files, not video files or links, so extract the audio first if your song is inside a video. You must confirm you own the song or have permission to use it before any split runs. Removing the vocals from someone else's commercial recording does not give you the right to publish the result.

Frequently asked questions

How do I remove vocals from a song?

Upload the song to the VdoBloom vocal remover, choose Vocal remover, confirm you have the rights and press Split Song. You get two MP3 files: the vocals on their own and the instrumental without vocals.

Is there a free AI vocal remover?

Every new VdoBloom account gets 10 free credits. A vocal removal costs 4 credits, so you can split two songs for free and download both tracks.

Can I get just the acapella?

Yes. The Vocal remover mode always returns both tracks, so download the vocals file for an acapella and ignore the instrumental, or the other way round.

How many stems can the AI split a song into?

The All stems mode separates a song into up to 12 stems, including vocals, drums, bass, guitar and keys. How many you get depends on which instruments are actually in the song.

Can I make a karaoke video from a song?

Yes. Choose Karaoke video and the tool removes the vocals, times the lyrics to the singing and renders an MP4 in 16:9 or 9:16 with each word highlighted as it is sung. It costs 14 credits and works on songs up to 6 minutes.

What file formats can I upload?

Common audio formats such as MP3, WAV and M4A are accepted, up to 25 MB and 8 minutes. Results download as MP3 audio, and karaoke videos as MP4.

Why can I still hear a little of the vocal in the instrumental?

Heavy reverb, doubled vocals and low-bitrate files can leave faint traces. Upload the best-quality source you have, and try the All stems mode if you need each part separated more finely.

Can I remove vocals from a YouTube video?

The tool works on audio files you upload, not links. Use audio you own or have permission to use, export it as MP3 or WAV, and upload that file.

How long does vocal removal take?

Usually a minute or two, and longer when the provider queue is busy. Karaoke videos take a little longer because the lyrics are timed and the video is rendered after the split. You can leave the page; results are saved to My Creations.

Can I put new vocals on the instrumental?

Yes. Download the instrumental and record over it, or use the AI Song Cover tool's Add vocals action to have AI sing over an instrumental you own.
