AI Food Video Maker: Turn Dish Photos Into Cinematic Food Clips
VdoBloom's AI food video maker turns a photo of a dish into a short cinematic food clip: steam rising, sauce glistening, a slow macro glide across the texture and a final hero shot of the plate. Upload up to four photos of the same dish, pick one of six food styles, add the dish name and key ingredients if you like, and Seedance 2 generates the video. There is no studio, no food stylist and no editing.
Is it free? New accounts get 10 free credits, enough for a short Seedance 2 Mini clip at 480p (7 to 8 credits). The default clip on Seedance 2 (4 seconds, 480p) costs 31 credits, and a 5-second 720p clip on Seedance 2 Fast costs 50. After that, the Lite pack is 300 credits for $19.50 one-time (credits never expire) or $15 a month.
It is built for restaurants, cafés, cloud kitchens, bakeries, food trucks, caterers, food bloggers and home cooks who want video for every dish on the menu, for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Google Business posts and their own menu pages.
How it works
- 1
Upload your dish photos
Add one to four photos of the same plate, from different angles if you have them. Natural light and a close, slightly elevated angle work best.
- 2
Name the dish and its highlights
Optionally type the dish name ("Truffle Mushroom Risotto") and the ingredients you want to see ("aged parmesan, crispy pancetta"). They tell the model what to show.
- 3
Pick a food style
Choose ASMR / Satisfying, Fine Dining, Street Food / Casual, Comfort Food, Delivery / Takeout or Dessert / Sweet. Each sets its own lighting, setting and camera pace.
- 4
Set length and shape, then generate
Pick 4 to 15 seconds and 9:16 for Reels and TikTok or 1:1 for feed posts. The clip is ready in about 2 to 4 minutes and saved in My Creations.
Why use this tool
Six food cinematography styles
From extreme-close-up ASMR to candle-lit fine dining, each style has its own set, light and camera language written for food.
The dish stays as plated
On Seedance 2 models the shot list moves the camera and light, not the food, and asks for the dish to stay unchanged.
Up to four angles
Seedance 2 models use all your photos as references, so the video can move between top-down, side and macro views of the same dish.
A real shot list
Shot-by-shot timing builds the clip from food beats: top-down descent, side push-in through steam, macro glide, slow orbit, rack focus, final hero shot.
Clean, text-free frames
Clips are generated with no people, no hands and no on-screen text, so you can add your own captions, price and logo.
Pay per clip
Credits are charged per video by model, length and resolution, shown before you generate. One-time credits never expire.
Which food video style should I choose?
Pick the style that matches how you want the dish to feel, and where it will be posted.
| Style | Look | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| ASMR / Satisfying | Extreme close-up on a dark tabletop, very shallow focus, slow macro moves: sauce pours, cheese pulls, steam | TikTok and Reels hooks, cheesy, saucy or crunchy dishes |
| Fine Dining | Restaurant table at night, dramatic side light, deep shadows, bokeh | Tasting menus, chef specials, premium restaurants |
| Street Food / Casual | Busy stall at dusk, warm colourful light, smoke and steam, energetic handheld feel | Burgers, tacos, kebabs, noodles, food trucks |
| Comfort Food | Wooden kitchen table, warm golden evening light, steam wisps, slow zooms | Soups, curries, pasta, bakes, home cooking |
| Delivery / Takeout | Clean light backdrop, bright even light, every ingredient visible | Menu pages, delivery-style hero shots, cloud kitchens |
| Dessert / Sweet | Pastel marble counter, soft light, glossy tones: drizzle, cream swirl, berry drop | Cakes, pastries, ice cream, cafés and bakeries |

Making video for a whole menu
Because each clip starts from a photo you already have, a full menu is a realistic afternoon job. With one Lite pack of 300 credits you could make about 37 five-second Mini clips at 480p, 17 at 720p, or 6 five-second Seedance 2 Fast clips at 720p. A practical routine: draft every dish on Mini, then re-render your top sellers on Seedance 2 Fast or Seedance 2 for your ads and pinned posts.
| Plan | Credits each | Clips per 300 credits |
|---|---|---|
| Seedance 2 Mini, 480p, 5 s | 8 | 37 |
| Seedance 2 Mini, 720p, 5 s | 17 | 17 |
| Seedance 2, 480p, 4 s (the default) | 31 | 9 |
| Seedance 2 Fast, 720p, 5 s | 50 | 6 |
How to photograph food for AI video
The model animates what it sees, so the photo decides most of the result.
- Use daylight from a window, from the side or behind. Avoid harsh flash.
- Fill the frame with the plate: a close, slightly elevated angle reads best on a phone.
- Show texture: sauce sheen, melted cheese, char marks, crumbs and fresh garnish give the model detail to move.
- Clear the table of clutter, cutlery piles and logos you don't want in the clip.
- Add a second or third angle (top-down, side, macro) for Seedance 2 to cut between.
- Name the hero ingredient in the details field so the camera lingers on it.

Where restaurants use AI food videos
Short food clips work wherever people decide what to eat.
- Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts at 9:16.
- Instagram and Facebook feed posts at 1:1 or 3:4.
- Google Business Profile posts and your website menu page.
- WhatsApp Status and broadcast lists for regulars.
- Paid social ads testing which dish to feature.
- New menu launches, seasonal specials and limited-time dishes.
What it can't do
Some things are better added after the clip is made.
- No sound: clips are silent, even ASMR style. Add sizzles, music or a voiceover in your editor; the AI Music Generator can make a backing track.
- No captions, prices or logo: frames are generated text-free on purpose. Add them as overlays.
- No hands or people: the clip shows only the food and its setting.
- One dish per run, up to 15 seconds. Join several clips for a longer menu reel.
- The AI can drift: occasionally a garnish moves or a portion looks different. Re-generate any clip that no longer looks like the dish you serve.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a free AI food video maker?
You can try it free: new accounts get 10 credits, which covers one short Seedance 2 Mini clip at 480p. After that you pay per clip; the Lite pack is 300 credits for $19.50 one-time, and those credits never expire.
How do I turn a food photo into a video?
Open the Food Dish tab, upload one to four photos of the dish, optionally add its name and key ingredients, pick a style such as ASMR or Fine Dining, choose length and aspect ratio, and generate. The clip is ready in about 2 to 4 minutes.
How much does an AI food video cost?
A 5-second clip costs 8 credits on Seedance 2 Mini at 480p, 50 on Seedance 2 Fast at 720p and 82 on Seedance 2 at 720p. The default, Seedance 2 at 4 seconds and 480p, is 31 credits. You see the price before generating.
Can I make ASMR food videos with AI?
Yes, visually. The ASMR / Satisfying style uses extreme close-ups, very shallow focus and slow pours, cuts and cheese pulls. The clip itself is silent, so add the crunch, sizzle or pour sounds in your editor.
Will the AI change how my dish looks?
On Seedance 2 models the shot list moves only the camera and light and asks for the dish to stay unchanged. Results can still drift, so check each clip and re-generate any that misrepresent what you actually serve.
What size should food videos be for Instagram and TikTok?
Use 9:16 for Reels, TikTok and Shorts, and 1:1 or 3:4 for feed posts. Seedance 2 also offers 16:9, 4:3 and 21:9 for websites and YouTube.
Can I add my menu price or restaurant logo?
Clips are generated with no on-screen text so nothing garbled appears. Add the dish name, price, logo and offer as overlays in any editor, or use the Daily Promo tab for ready-made special-offer videos.
How many photos can I upload?
Up to four photos of the same dish. Seedance 2 models use all of them as references; in Frames mode the first photo is the start frame and the second the end frame. Other models use the first photo only.
Can I use AI food videos in ads?
Yes, the clips you generate can be used in your marketing and paid ads. Keep the food faithful to what customers receive, since advertising rules on food imagery still apply.
