Resize Ads for All Platforms With AI: Every Placement From One Creative
The VdoBloom Ad Resize Pack turns one finished ad into every common placement size at once: square 1:1, feed 4:5, Stories and Reels 9:16, link and display 1.91:1, and widescreen 16:9. Each size is laid out again for its shape, so text, logo, button and product move and rescale to fit instead of being cropped off or squashed.
Is it free? It costs 5 credits per size with the Re-layout method, so the four default sizes cost 20 credits and all five cost 25. The Extend background method is 12 credits per size. New accounts get 10 free credits, enough for two re-laid-out sizes; the Lite pack is 300 credits for $19.50, and one-time credits never expire.
It is for anyone who has one approved creative and needs it in every placement for Facebook, Instagram, Stories, Reels, Shorts-style vertical slots and widescreen covers, without rebuilding it by hand in a design tool.
Examples

4:5 feed ad → 9:16 story, re-laid out (not cropped)

4:5 → 1.91:1 link ad
How it works
- 1
Upload one finished creative
Any shape works. Ads made in VdoBloom can be sent from My Ads with the Resize button, no re-upload needed.
- 2
Pick the sizes
1:1, 4:5, 9:16 and 1.91:1 are selected by default; add or remove 16:9 and any others.
- 3
Choose the method
Re-layout moves and resizes the elements for each shape. Extend background keeps your original pixels and grows the canvas around them.
- 4
Make the sizes
The credit total is shown before you start. Each size renders separately and is exported at its exact pixel size.
- 5
Check safe zones and download
Turn on the safe-zone guides to see where app buttons and captions sit, then download each file or use Download all for a zip.
Why use this tool
Re-layout, not crop
The AI rebalances the design for each canvas, keeping every word, number, price, logo and the product, and extends the background where needed.
Five placements in one run
1080×1080, 1080×1350, 1080×1920, 1200×628 and 1920×1080, exported at those exact sizes.
Safe margins built in
Text, logo, button and product are kept at least 8% from every edge; in 9:16 they stay out of the top 14% and bottom 35% where story and reel controls sit.
Safe-zone overlay
Toggle guides on the results to check story and feed safe areas before you upload.
Two methods for two jobs
Re-layout for big shape changes; Extend background when the original artwork must stay pixel-for-pixel.
Refunds for failed sizes
Any size that fails to render is refunded automatically.
Which ad sizes does it make?
These five ratios cover the main paid-social and display placements. Pick only the ones you run; you pay per size.
| Ratio | Export size (px) | Typical placements |
|---|---|---|
| 1:1 | 1080×1080 | Facebook and Instagram feed, carousel cards, marketplace listings |
| 4:5 | 1080×1350 | Facebook and Instagram feed (takes more screen height than square) |
| 9:16 | 1080×1920 | Stories, Reels and other full-screen vertical placements |
| 1.91:1 | 1200×628 | Link ads, right column, landscape display slots |
| 16:9 | 1920×1080 | Widescreen covers, video thumbnails, landscape banners |

Re-layout vs Extend background: which method should I use?
Both methods produce every size you pick; they differ in how they fill the new shape.
| Re-layout | Extend background | |
|---|---|---|
| How it works | Moves, resizes and rebalances text, logo, button and product for the new canvas | Keeps the original image untouched and generates more background around it |
| Engine | GPT Image 2.5 Flare edit (2K) | FLUX Outpainting |
| Credits per size | 5 | 12 |
| Best for | Big shape changes, such as 4:5 → 1.91:1 or 1:1 → 9:16 | Small shape changes where the artwork must stay exactly as designed |
| Text | Kept word for word and moved to fit | Not touched (it stays where it was) |
| Limit | Works for every listed size | Very large shape changes are refused; use Re-layout for those |
Worked costs
Total = credits per size × number of sizes.
| Job | Method | Credits |
|---|---|---|
| Story version only (9:16) | Re-layout | 5 |
| Default four: 1:1, 4:5, 9:16, 1.91:1 | Re-layout | 20 |
| All five sizes | Re-layout | 25 |
| Square + feed (1:1, 4:5) | Extend background | 24 |
| All five sizes | Extend background | 60 |
| Six winning ads × all five sizes | Re-layout | 150 |

Who uses the Ad Resize Pack
Most people reach for it at the point where one design has been approved and now has to run everywhere.
- Online shops turning a winning feed ad into Story and Reel versions for the same campaign.
- Agencies delivering a full placement set to a client from one signed-off master.
- Local businesses that designed a square post and now want a 9:16 story and a 1.91:1 link ad from it.
- App and SaaS teams making 16:9 covers and landscape slots from a vertical creative.
- Anyone who made a pack in the AI Facebook ad generator in feed size and wants other sizes only for the ads that performed.
Why resizing by cropping fails
Cropping a 4:5 feed ad to 9:16 cuts off the sides; cropping it to 1.91:1 cuts off the top and bottom, which is usually where the headline and button live. Stretching distorts the product. And a straight resize ignores the parts of a story or reel covered by the profile bar, captions and reply box.
A re-layout treats each size as its own design: the same words and product, arranged so the hierarchy still reads and nothing important sits under the app interface.
Safe zones for Stories, Reels and feed
The results view has a safe-zone toggle that overlays the areas apps cover. Use it to confirm your headline, price and button are visible before uploading.
- 9:16 (1080×1920): keep key content out of the top 270 px and bottom 670 px, and 65 px in from each side.
- Feed sizes: keep key content inside the centre 80% of the frame, since placements may crop the edges slightly.
- Re-layout already aims for these margins; the overlay is for a final visual check.
Tips for clean resizes
A few habits make every size come out usable on the first run.
- Start from the highest-resolution version of the ad you have.
- Fewer, larger text blocks survive re-layout better than many small ones.
- Resize only the winners: test in one feed size first, then make the other placements for the ads that perform.
- Use Extend background for a small change like 1:1 → 4:5 when the design is approved and must not move.
- Need the ad in other languages too? Localize first with the Ad Localizer, then resize each language.
Limits
What the Resize Pack does not do.
- It works on static images, not video.
- It does not change the copy, translate it or add new elements; use the Ad Creative Pack or Ad Localizer for that.
- The five sizes above are the ones offered; arbitrary pixel dimensions are not.
- Extend background cannot make very large shape changes; switch to Re-layout for those.
Frequently asked questions
How do I resize one ad for all platforms with AI?
Upload the finished ad to the VdoBloom Ad Resize Pack, select the sizes (1:1, 4:5, 9:16, 1.91:1, 16:9) and choose Re-layout. Each size is laid out again for its shape and exported at its exact pixel size, ready to download as a zip.
Does it crop my ad?
No. Re-layout moves and rescales the text, logo, button and product to fit each shape and extends the background where needed. Extend background keeps your original image whole and adds canvas around it.
How much does it cost to resize an ad?
5 credits per size with Re-layout, 12 credits per size with Extend background. The four default sizes with Re-layout cost 20 credits; all five cost 25.
Is the Ad Resize Pack free?
It is paid per size, but the 10 free credits new accounts get cover two Re-layout sizes, for example a 9:16 story and a 1:1 square version of one ad.
What size should a Facebook or Instagram story ad be?
9:16 at 1080×1920 pixels. Keep the headline, price and button out of the top 270 px and bottom 670 px, where the profile bar and reply controls sit. The Resize Pack applies this margin and can overlay the safe zone on the result.
Will the text in my ad stay the same?
Yes. Re-layout is instructed to keep every word, spelling, number, price and currency symbol exactly as in the source, and not to add or remove text. Extend background does not touch the original artwork at all.
What is the difference between Re-layout and Extend background?
Re-layout redesigns each size so the elements fit the new shape (5 credits per size). Extend background keeps your pixels untouched and generates extra background around them (12 credits per size), but it cannot handle very large shape changes.
Can I resize ads made in other tools?
Yes. Any finished static ad you have the rights to can be uploaded. Ads made in VdoBloom can be sent from My Ads with the Resize button.
Does it support Google display banner sizes?
It makes the five ratios listed above, including 1.91:1 at 1200×628 and 16:9 at 1920×1080, which suit landscape display slots. Fixed banner sizes such as leaderboards and skyscrapers are not offered.
