Each effect, called a look, already contains the motion, choreography, camera move and colour grade, so you pick a look, upload the photo or photos it asks for, and generate. There is no prompt to write: the prompt behind each look stays on the server and was tuned by the VdoBloom team.

What Seedance effects are
Seedance is ByteDance’s family of video generation models. On its own, getting a specific effect out of it, such as an outfit switch mid-dance, a product reveal or a cinematic push-in, means writing and testing a long prompt. A Seedance effect packages that tested prompt as a look: the instructions, the camera behaviour and sometimes reference clips for the motion are saved with it, and your photo is the only new input.
The sample on this page is the Outfit Switch look: one photo in, a locked choreography out, with the outfit changing mid-dance. The rest of the gallery is grouped by category and searchable, and new looks are added over time.
Which Seedance model to use for an effect
You can render any look on any of the four models, unless the look ships with reference clips that only some models accept, in which case the others are greyed out. Prices below are for looks without a reference clip, at 5 and 10 seconds.

What a Seedance effect costs in practice
Cost depends on model, length and resolution. Looks that include a reference clip are priced on Seedance’s with-reference-video rate, which also counts the seconds of that clip; the figure shown next to the Create button always includes it.

Limits to know
A look fixes the motion and the camera, which is what makes it fast; it also sets the boundaries.
- You cannot edit a look’s prompt. For a custom motion, use Image to Video or the Seedance prompt library.
- Seedance 2, 2 Fast and 2 Mini render 4 to 15 seconds; Seedance 2.5 renders 4 to 30 seconds.

Do I need to write a prompt?
No. The prompt is part of each look and stays on the server. Your choices are the look, the photos, the model, the duration, the resolution and the aspect ratio.
Which aspect ratios are supported?
