What this tool does

• Duration: Seedance 2.5 runs 4-30 seconds at every whole second (27 options); Seedance 2 runs 4-15 seconds.
• Resolution: Seedance 2 offers 480p, 720p, 1080p and 4K. Seedance 2.5 offers 480p and 720p only — there is no 1080p or 4K path on 2.5 at any price.
• Seedance 2 is cheaper at every shared configuration: 5 seconds at 720p is 82 credits versus 100 on Seedance 2.5, and 15 seconds at 720p is 244 versus 300. At 480p, 15 seconds is 113 versus 138.
• Thirty seconds is only purchasable on Seedance 2.5: 276 credits at 480p, 600 at 720p. Seedance 2 cannot produce a 30-second clip at any resolution.
• Two 15-second Seedance 2 clips at 720p cost 488 credits together — 112 fewer than one 30-second Seedance 2.5 clip at 600 — but they require a cut between them.
• Seedance 2's 4K tier is 414 credits for 5 seconds and 1,240 for 15, the most expensive per-clip video configuration on VdoBloom. Its 1080p tier is 203 for 5 seconds and 608 for 15.
• Per-second rates: Seedance 2.5 bills a flat 9.2 credits/sec at 480p and 20.0 at 720p; Seedance 2 works out to roughly 7.6 credits/sec at 480p and 16.3 at 720p.
• Both generate audio by default with no surcharge, share the same aspect ratio options, and both appear in the same model list in Text to Video, Image to Video and Seedance Effects — switching between them is a dropdown, not a different page.
• Prompt length is the one input limit that differs: Seedance 2.5 accepts up to 30,000 characters, Seedance 2 up to 20,000.
• Seedance 2 Fast and Seedance 2 Mini share Seedance 2.5's 480p/720p ceiling but keep the 15-second maximum, and both carry a limited-time 25% discount that ends 7 September 2026.

How it works

1. 1.Answer the length question first

   If the shot has to run longer than 15 seconds without a cut, the comparison is over — Seedance 2.5 is the only model on VdoBloom that does it, and it does it up to 30 seconds. If everything you make is 15 seconds or shorter, 2.5 has nothing to offer you that 2 does not. Either model runs from a written prompt in Text to Video or from an uploaded photo in Image to Video, so the workflow is not the tiebreaker here — the length is.

2. 2.Answer the resolution question second

   If the deliverable is 1080p or 4K, use Seedance 2. Seedance 2.5's list stops at 720p and there is no upgrade path inside the model. A 5-second Seedance 2 clip is 203 credits at 1080p and 414 at 4K.

3. 3.When both fit, take Seedance 2 — it is the cheaper render

   For anything from 4 to 15 seconds at 480p or 720p, Seedance 2 wins on price at every single length. Ten seconds at 720p is 163 credits on Seedance 2 against 200 on Seedance 2.5. Paying the 2.5 premium only makes sense when you are buying duration it alone can supply.

4. 4.Cost the 30-second option against two shorter clips

   One 30-second Seedance 2.5 clip at 720p is 600 credits. Two 15-second Seedance 2 clips at the same resolution are 488 together. If your edit can carry a cut at the halfway point, the split is cheaper and gets you the option of 1080p on each half. If the shot must be continuous, pay the 600.

5. 5.Draft at 480p on whichever you picked, then re-render

   Both models drop to 480p, which is the cheap way to check that the prompt and your photos work before you commit. A 30-second 480p test on Seedance 2.5 is 276 credits against 600 at 720p; a 15-second 480p test on Seedance 2 is 113 against 244. Re-run the approved take at the delivery resolution.
