Translate Image Text with an AI Image Translator

VdoBloom Translate Image is an online AI image translator: upload a picture that contains text, pick one of 20 languages, and you get the same picture back with every line re-lettered in the new language. Each line stays where it was, at the same size, in a matching font style, weight and color, and the photo, drawing or background around it is left alone.

Is it free? New accounts get 10 free credits at sign-up, and one translated image costs 5 credits, so you can translate two images before paying anything. After that, credits come from one-time packs that never expire (for example 300 credits for $19.50) or a monthly plan. It runs in the browser on desktop and phone, with nothing to install.

It is built for people who need the translated picture itself as the result: shop owners localizing product labels, restaurants printing a second-language menu, social media managers reposting memes and graphics, and readers who want a sign, poster or comic page in their own language.

How it works

  1. 1

    Upload the image

Add a meme, product label, menu, sign, poster, screenshot or comic page. A sharp, straight-on photo with readable text gives the cleanest result.

  2. 2

    Choose the target language

Pick one of 20 languages from the list. You do not need to tell it the source language; it translates all visible text it finds.

  3. 3

    Pick a model

Choose GPT Image 2.5 Precision for the most faithful re-lettering, or GPT Image 2.5 for a quicker pass. Both cost 5 credits per image.

  4. 4

    Translate and download

The AI translates and re-letters the image. The result is saved to My Creations, where you can download it or run it again into another language.

Why use this tool

  • Text replaced in place

Each line is redrawn in the same spot and alignment, following any curve or perspective of the original lettering, so the layout of the design survives the translation.

  • Font style and color kept

The translated text keeps the weight, color and general font style of the source, whether it is chalk on a menu board, bold meme type or a printed label.

  • Everything else untouched

Photos, illustrations, characters, speech-bubble shapes, backgrounds and logos are kept as they are. Only the words change.

  • Names, prices and numbers preserved

Brand names, people's names, prices and numbers are left unchanged on purpose, so a price tag or product name never gets mistranslated.

  • Right-to-left scripts handled

Arabic and Urdu output is written right to left, and Indic scripts such as Hindi, Bengali, Tamil and Malayalam are lettered in their own script.

  • Output follows your image

The result keeps the shape of the uploaded image instead of forcing a square crop, and renders at 2K so small text stays legible.

Which languages can it translate into?

Translate Image writes into 20 target languages. The source can be any language the AI can read in the picture; you only choose where the text should end up.

How much does it cost to translate images?

Every translation is one image at 5 credits, whatever the language and whichever model you pick. If a run fails, the credits are returned automatically. Here is what common jobs work out to with the credits from sign-up and from the 300-credit Lite pack.

What kinds of images can I translate?

Anything where the text is part of the picture and you want a finished image back, rather than a block of copied text.

  • Restaurant and café menus, including chalkboard and handwritten-style boards
  • Product labels, packaging and price cards for selling in another market
  • Memes, quote cards and social media graphics you want to repost for another audience
  • Event posters, flyers and shop signs
  • Screenshots of apps, slides or infographics
  • Single comic or webtoon panels (for full manga pages, the dedicated Manga Translator is the better fit)

Image translator vs copying text out with OCR

Camera and OCR translators read the words in a picture and give you translated text, or lay a temporary overlay on top. That is ideal when you only need to understand a sign. Translate Image does the other half of the job: it hands back a new image file with the translated words lettered into the design, ready to print, post or send to a client.

Tips for a cleaner translation

Most problems come from the source image, so a few minutes on the upload saves re-runs.

  • Photograph text straight on, in even light, with no glare across the letters.
  • Crop to the area that matters; a menu board fills the frame better than a whole room.
  • Languages that run longer than the source (German, Russian, Tamil) may be shortened slightly to fit the original space, so check longer lines.
  • Have a native speaker review anything you will print or sell with, as you would with any machine translation.
  • For a set of images in several languages, run each language as its own translation and keep the source files handy in My Creations.

What it cannot do yet

Knowing the limits up front helps you pick the right tool.

  • One image per run; there is no bulk upload of many files at once.
  • You cannot pick or edit the translated wording before it is lettered; to change a line, adjust and re-run.
  • The output is a flat image, not an editable text layer or PSD.
  • Very small or blurry text may be skipped or misread, the same as with any text recognition.
  • Multi-page documents and PDFs are not supported; translate them page by page as images.

Frequently asked questions

How do I translate the text in an image?

Open Translate Image on VdoBloom, upload the picture, choose one of 20 target languages and a model, then click translate. The AI reads all visible text, translates it and re-letters each line in the same place and style. The new image is saved to My Creations for download.

Is there a free image translator?

VdoBloom gives every new account 10 free credits, and a translation costs 5 credits, so your first two images are free. After that you buy credits: one-time packs never expire, and monthly plans reset each billing cycle.

Can AI translate text in an image and keep the same font?

Yes. Translate Image is set up to redraw each line at the same size, in the same font style, weight, color and alignment, and to follow curved or angled text. Exact typefaces are approximated rather than copied, so the result matches the look of the original closely, not letter for letter.

Do I need to know the source language?

No. You only choose the language to translate into. The tool translates all visible text it can read in the image, whatever language it is written in.

Which languages are supported?

English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Hindi, Arabic, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified), Indonesian, Turkish, Russian, Vietnamese, Thai, Bengali, Tamil, Malayalam and Urdu. Arabic and Urdu are written right to left.

Will it change prices, brand names or numbers?

No. Brand names, people's names, prices and numbers are kept exactly as they appear, so labels and menus do not end up with translated product names or altered prices.

Can I translate a meme or a comic?

Yes. Memes, quote cards and single comic panels work well, and the art and speech-bubble shapes are kept. For full manga or webtoon pages with many bubbles, use the Manga Translator tab, which is built for that layout.

Can I translate a screenshot or a photo of a sign?

Yes. Screenshots, photos of signs, posters and flyers are all supported. A straight-on photo with sharp, well-lit text gives the most accurate translation.

Is my image kept private?

Your uploads and results are stored in your own account history (My Creations) and are not posted publicly. You confirm you have the right to use the image before translating it.

What happens if a translation fails?

If the AI cannot produce a result, the 5 credits are refunded to your balance automatically and you can try again with a clearer image or the other model.
