AI Pet Portrait Generator: Turn Your Dog or Cat Photo Into Art

The VdoBloom AI pet portrait generator turns one photo of your dog, cat or other pet into a new picture while keeping its breed, fur colors, markings, eye color and ear shape. There are four modes: classic portrait styles (Renaissance oil, watercolor, pop art and more), your pet dressed as a person (CEO, chef, astronaut and five others), your pet photobombing your selfie, and a sheet of six cute die-cut stickers on a transparent background.

A portrait costs 5 credits on GPT Image 2.5, or 18 credits on Nano Banana Pro if you want the alternative model. New accounts get 10 free credits, enough for two portraits. It suits pet owners, gift-givers, pet businesses such as groomers and shelters, and anyone who wants their pet as a profile picture, print or sticker.

How it works

  1. 1

    Choose a mode

Pick Portrait styles, Pet as a person, Photobomb selfie or Sticker set.

  2. 2

    Upload a clear pet photo

One photo with the face clearly visible and good light. For the photobomb, upload your selfie as well, facing the camera.

  3. 3

Pick the style, character or moment

Choose one of six art styles, one of eight characters, or one of three photobomb moments. The sticker set needs no choice: it always makes six poses.

  4. 4

Pick the model and check the price

GPT Image 2.5 is the default at 5 credits. Portraits, characters and photobombs can also run on Nano Banana Pro (18 credits); the sticker set can run on Qwen Image 2.1 (5 credits). The cost shows before you generate.

  5. 5

    Download, upscale or animate

Download the image, send painted portraits to the Upscaler for a bigger print file, or press Animate to bring your pet to life in image-to-video.

Why use this tool

  • Your pet stays your pet

Every mode is told to keep the exact breed, fur colors and markings, eye color and ear shape from your photo.

  • Six art styles

Renaissance oil, watercolor, 3D animated, pop art, pencil sketch and modern oil, all framed as a centered head-and-chest portrait.

  • Eight "pet as a person" characters

CEO, chef, astronaut, royal, rock star, scientist, detective and farmer, each in a matching scene with photoreal portrait lighting.

  • Photobomb selfies

Combine your selfie and your pet photo into one natural phone selfie where your pet peeks in, licks your cheek or leaps into frame.

  • Transparent sticker set

Six die-cut stickers with white borders (happy, sleepy, surprised, in love, cool in sunglasses, munching a treat) as one transparent PNG.

  • Two models to choose from

GPT Image 2.5 for every mode at 5 credits, Nano Banana Pro as an alternative for portraits and characters, Qwen Image 2.1 for stickers.

  • Print-friendly upscaling

Painted portrait results have an Upscale button that opens the AI upscaler with the image loaded, for posters, canvases and mugs.

  • One click to video

Every result has an Animate button, so your Renaissance cat or astronaut dog can move in a short clip.

Is the AI pet portrait generator free?

You can try it free. Every new VdoBloom account gets 10 free credits, and a portrait on GPT Image 2.5 costs 5, so that covers two portraits in any mode. After that, the Lite pack is 300 credits for $19.50 one-time, or $15 a month on a subscription. One-time pack credits never expire; subscription credits reset each billing cycle. Nano Banana Pro portraits cost 18 credits, so they need purchased credits.

Which mode and model to use

Each run makes one image. GPT Image 2.5 is the default for every mode and the lowest price. Nano Banana Pro is a second opinion for portraits, characters and photobombs if you want a different take on the same photo.

Photo tips for a better pet portrait

The model can only keep what it can see, so the photo matters more than any setting.

  • Use a photo where the face is sharp and clearly visible, ideally at your pet’s eye level.
  • Daylight near a window beats flash; flash can change eye color and wash out fur.
  • Get the whole head and ears in frame; cropped ears or a hidden muzzle get guessed.
  • One pet per photo works best. Choose the photo where the markings are most visible.
  • For the photobomb, use a selfie where you face the camera and leave some room at the side of the frame.
  • If a result misses a marking, try the other model on the same photo before changing anything else.

Limits to know

Each run makes one image of one pet; there is no multi-pet group portrait mode and no batch of several styles at once. Styles, characters and photobomb moments are fixed lists, so you can’t type a custom costume here. For a free-form idea, upload the photo to the AI Image Editor and describe the scene. The sticker set is a single static PNG sheet; for animated stickers, the Chibi Sticker Maker makes moving stickers from a photo of a person or a described character.

Upscaling is offered on painted portrait results. Prints come from your own file: VdoBloom does not print or ship physical products.

Frequently asked questions

What is an AI pet portrait generator?

It is a tool that redraws a photo of your pet as artwork or a new scene while keeping the animal recognisable. VdoBloom’s generator offers painted and drawn portrait styles, your pet as a person in eight roles, a selfie photobomb and a transparent sticker set.

Is the AI pet portrait generator free?

You can try it with the 10 free credits every new account gets. A portrait on GPT Image 2.5 costs 5 credits, so that covers two. Credits then start at 300 for $19.50 one-time.

Will the portrait still look like my pet?

Each mode is instructed to keep your pet’s exact breed, fur colors and markings, eye color and ear shape from the photo. A sharp, well-lit photo with the face fully visible gives the most faithful result; if a detail is off, try the other model on the same photo.

Does it work for cats and other pets, or only dogs?

It works with cats as well as dogs, and the prompts describe "the pet" rather than a specific animal, so other pets with a clearly visible face, such as rabbits or birds, can be tried too.

What styles can I turn my pet into?

Six portrait styles (Renaissance oil, watercolor, 3D animated, pop art, pencil sketch, modern oil) and eight characters (CEO, chef, astronaut, royal, rock star, scientist, detective, farmer), plus a photobomb selfie and a six-sticker set.

How do I make my pet look like a person in a suit?

Choose the Pet as a person mode, upload your pet photo and pick a character such as CEO. The result is a photoreal editorial portrait with your pet’s own head on an upright, human-like body in the matching outfit and setting.

Can I print an AI pet portrait or give it as a gift?

Yes. Download the image and take it to any print service. Painted portrait results also have an Upscale button for a larger file. Under VdoBloom’s Terms of Service you keep ownership of what you generate.

Do the pet stickers have a transparent background?

Yes. The sticker set is a transparent PNG with six die-cut stickers, each with a thick white border, laid out in two rows of three: happy, sleepy, surprised, in love, cool in sunglasses and munching a treat.

How much does an AI pet portrait cost?

5 credits per image on GPT Image 2.5 in every mode, 5 on Qwen Image 2.1 for the sticker set, or 18 on Nano Banana Pro for portraits, characters and photobombs. The cost is shown before you generate.

Can I animate my pet portrait?

Yes. Every result has an Animate button that opens image-to-video with the portrait loaded as the first frame, so your pet can blink, turn or move in a short clip.
