AI Image Upscaler: Upscale Images to 4K and Beyond
The VdoBloom AI image upscaler enlarges low-resolution images and rebuilds detail, so the result looks sharp instead of blurry and stretched. Use it to rescue small or compressed photos, web downloads and AI generations, and to prepare images for print, product listings or large screens.
Is it free? You can try it free: new accounts get 10 credits, enough for one Riverflow 2.0 Fast upscale or two small Topaz Wonder 3.5 upscales. After that it runs on credits: Topaz Wonder 3.5 starts at 4 credits and is priced by output size, Riverflow 2.0 Fast is 10 credits at 2K, and Riverflow 2.0 Pro is 18 credits at 2K or 27 credits at 4K.
Three upscaling models sit in one tool. Topaz Wonder 3.5 enlarges 2× or 4× with adjustable enhancement and outputs up to 100 megapixels. Riverflow 2.0 Pro targets 2K or 4K, and Riverflow 2.0 Fast targets 2K. Credits come from the Lite pack (300 credits for $19.50 one-time, never expiring) or a monthly plan.
How it works
- 1
Upload the image
Add the photo, graphic or AI image you want to enlarge. For Topaz Wonder the tool reads its size and shows the output dimensions and megapixels before you run it.
- 2
Pick an upscaling model
Topaz Wonder 3.5 for 2× or 4× enlargement, Riverflow 2.0 Pro for 2K or 4K, or Riverflow 2.0 Fast for a quick 2K result.
- 3
Set the size and strength
Choose 2× or 4× and Low, Medium or High enhancement strength on Topaz Wonder, or the target resolution on Riverflow.
- 4
Upscale and download
The AI rebuilds fine detail at the larger size. Save the result when it finishes; it is also kept in My Creations.
Why use this tool
Three models in one place
Topaz Wonder 3.5, Riverflow 2.0 Pro and Riverflow 2.0 Fast, so you can match the model to the job instead of switching sites.
Up to 4K and 100 MP
Riverflow 2.0 Pro outputs 4K. Topaz Wonder 3.5 enlarges 2× or 4× up to a 100-megapixel result, enough for large prints.
Output size shown before you run
Topaz Wonder is priced by the output size, and the tool shows the output dimensions and megapixels for your exact image first, so you can check the price tier below before spending credits.
Works with the rest of VdoBloom
Upscale a background-removed cut-out, an AI-generated image or a restored old photo without leaving the workspace.
Is the AI image upscaler free?
You can try it free. Every new account gets 10 free credits. That covers one Riverflow 2.0 Fast upscale (10 credits) or two Topaz Wonder 3.5 upscales with an output up to 8 MP (4 credits each), for example a 1024 × 1024 image enlarged 2×.
On a free account, downloads from this tool carry a small VdoBloom watermark; watermark-free downloads are for paid accounts. One-time credit packs never expire, and subscription credits reset each billing cycle.

How to upscale an image to 4K
4K UHD is 3840 × 2160 pixels. There are two ways to get there in VdoBloom. The simplest is Riverflow 2.0 Pro with the 4K target selected (27 credits). The other is Topaz Wonder 3.5 with the factor that lands at or past 4K for your image, which is often cheaper for small inputs.
| Your image | Setting | Result | Credits |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1280 × 720 | Topaz Wonder 2× | 2560 × 1440 (3.7 MP) | 4 |
| 1024 × 1024 | Topaz Wonder 2× | 2048 × 2048 (4.2 MP) | 4 |
| 1920 × 1080 | Topaz Wonder 2× | 3840 × 2160, 4K UHD (8.3 MP) | 7 |
| 960 × 540 | Topaz Wonder 4× | 3840 × 2160, 4K UHD (8.3 MP) | 7 |
| 1024 × 1024 | Topaz Wonder 4× | 4096 × 4096 (16.8 MP) | 11 |
| 3000 × 2000 | Topaz Wonder 2× | 6000 × 4000 (24 MP) | 11 |

What people upscale
Common reasons to run an image through an AI upscaler:
- AI generations: many images come out at about 1K, fine on screen but small for print or close crops.
- Product photos: sharper, larger main images and zoomable detail shots for marketplaces and stores.
- Old and scanned photos: enlarge family pictures for reprints; restore damage first with Photo Restore.
- Prints and posters: reach the pixel count a large print needs.
- Thumbnails and social posts: clean up small or compressed images before reposting.
- Cut-outs: enlarge a background-removed PNG before placing it in a large design.

Tips for the best upscale
A few choices make a visible difference to the result:
- Start from the original file, not a screenshot or a re-saved copy. Every round of compression removes detail the AI has to guess.
- Use 2× before 4× when the source is already decent. Bigger is not always better for screens.
- On Topaz Wonder, Low strength applies the lightest enhancement; Medium and High enhance more, which suits soft or noisy photos.
- Upscale last: crop, edit and remove backgrounds first, then enlarge the final version.
- For a 4K screen target, check the output dimensions shown in the tool before you run it.
What the upscaler cannot do
One image is processed per run; batch upscaling is not available. Topaz Wonder refuses results over 100 MP, so very large photos are limited to 2× or are blocked at 4×; the tool tells you before you spend credits. Riverflow 2.0 Fast stops at 2K.
An upscaler adds believable detail; it cannot recover information that was never in the photo. Faces that are a few pixels wide or text that is unreadable in the original will not become exact. For video, use the AI video upscaler instead.

Frequently asked questions
How does AI image upscaling work?
Instead of simply stretching pixels, an AI upscaler predicts what the missing detail should look like from patterns learned on large image collections. It rebuilds edges, textures and fine features at the larger size, which is why AI-upscaled images stay crisp where ordinary resizing turns soft.
Is the VdoBloom image upscaler free?
You can try it free. New accounts get 10 free credits, which cover one Riverflow 2.0 Fast upscale or two small Topaz Wonder 3.5 upscales (output up to 8 MP, 4 credits each). After that you buy credits; downloads on a free account carry a small watermark.
How do I upscale an image to 4K?
Upload the image and choose Riverflow 2.0 Pro with the 4K target (27 credits), or Topaz Wonder 3.5 with the factor that reaches 3840 × 2160 or more. A 1920 × 1080 image enlarged 2× with Topaz Wonder becomes 3840 × 2160 for 7 credits.
What resolution can I upscale my images to?
Riverflow 2.0 Pro outputs 2K or 4K, Riverflow 2.0 Fast outputs 2K, and Topaz Wonder 3.5 enlarges 2× or 4× up to a 100-megapixel result. The tool shows the available choices for the model you pick before you run it.
How much does it cost to upscale an image?
Topaz Wonder 3.5 costs 4 credits for outputs up to 8 MP, rising by output size to 45 credits at 100 MP. Riverflow 2.0 Fast is 10 credits at 2K, and Riverflow 2.0 Pro is 18 credits at 2K or 27 at 4K. The Lite pack is 300 credits for $19.50 one-time.
Can I upscale AI-generated images?
Yes, and it is one of the most common uses. Many AI generations are produced at about 1K, which is fine on screen but limiting for print or zoomed crops. Running them through the upscaler raises the resolution while keeping the style.
Can I upscale a photo without losing quality?
Yes. AI upscaling adds pixels and rebuilds detail rather than stretching the existing ones, so edges stay sharp. Start from the original file, and use Low strength on Topaz Wonder for the lightest enhancement.
Does the upscaler fix blurry photos?
It sharpens soft and slightly blurry images, especially with Medium or High strength on Topaz Wonder 3.5. Heavy motion blur or a badly out-of-focus shot can improve but will not become perfectly sharp, because the detail was never captured.
Can I upscale old family photos?
Yes. Scan or photograph the print at the highest quality you can, repair scratches and fading in Photo Restore if needed, then enlarge the result with the upscaler for reprints.
Can I upscale many images at once?
Not yet. The upscaler processes one image per run, and every result is saved to My Creations so you can download them afterwards.
