AI Image Generator: Make Images from Text with 30 AI Models

VdoBloom’s AI image generator turns a text prompt into a finished image in your browser. You describe the picture, choose one of 30 image models (GPT Image 2.5, Nano Banana 2.1, Seedream 5, Qwen Image 3.0, Flux Kontext, Recraft V4, ImagineArt, WAN 2.7 and more), set the aspect ratio and resolution, and download the result as a PNG or JPG.

It is free to try. Every new account gets 10 credits, and the lowest-cost models use 1 to 3 credits per image, so the free credits make several images before you pay anything. After that you buy credits: the Lite pack is 300 credits for $19.50 one-time, and one-time credits never expire. There is no app to install and no design skill needed.

People use it as an AI image maker for social posts, ads, product mockups, thumbnails, posters with readable text, concept art and illustrations. If you already have a photo and want to change it, use the AI Image Editor instead: it accepts up to 16 reference images and supports masks and canvas expansion.

How it works

  1. 1

    Write your prompt

Describe the subject, setting, style, lighting and camera angle. Put any words you want printed in the image in quotes. Prompts can be written in other languages if you switch on auto-translate.

  2. 2

    Pick a model

Choose from 30 models in one dropdown. The credit cost of the model you pick is shown on the Generate button before you spend anything.

  3. 3

    Set size and resolution

Pick an aspect ratio (square, portrait, widescreen and more, depending on the model) and a resolution: 1K, 2K or 4K on models that offer it.

  4. 4

    Generate and download

The image renders in your browser, typically within a few minutes. Download it, keep it private, or change one detail in the prompt and run it again.

Why use this tool

  • 30 image models on one page

OpenAI GPT Image 2 and 2.5, Google Nano Banana (Pro, 2, 2.1, Lite), ByteDance Seedream (4.5, 5 Lite, 5 Flash, 5.0 Pro), Qwen Image (2.0, 2.1, 3.0), Flux Kontext, Recraft V4, ImagineArt, WAN 2.7, Meta Muse and two Special two-pass models.

  • Up to 4K output

Nano Banana Pro, Nano Banana 2 and 2.1, GPT Image 2 and 2.5, and WAN 2.7 Image offer a 4K setting. Seedream 4.5 and 5 Lite offer a High (4K) quality tier.

  • Readable text in images

Models such as GPT Image 2.5, Qwen Image 3.0 Pro, ImagineArt 1.5 and Seedream 5.0 Pro are built for signs, labels, posters and multilingual typography.

  • Transparent PNGs and brand colours

Qwen Image 2.1 can return a real transparent background. Recraft V4 and V4 Pro accept a brand colour palette and a background colour.

  • Pay per image, credits never expire

No subscription is required. One-time credit packs never expire, and the price of every model is shown before you generate.

  • Failed runs are refunded

If a model provider fails or refuses a prompt, the credits for that run go back to your balance automatically.

Is the AI image generator free?

Yes, you can start free. A new VdoBloom account receives 10 credits at sign-up with no card required, and the generator shows the exact credit cost of each model before you click Generate.

With 10 free credits you could make 10 images with Muse Image (1 credit each), 5 with Seedream 5 Flash (2 credits each), or 3 with GPT Image 2.5 or Nano Banana 2.1 at 1K (3 credits each). Premium models such as Nano Banana Pro (18 credits) need a credit pack.

When you run out, credit packs start with Lite: 300 credits for $19.50 one-time or $15 a month. One-time credits never expire; subscription credits reset each billing cycle.

What does an AI image cost? Worked examples

Credits are charged once per image you generate. These examples show how far the 10 free credits and a 300-credit Lite pack go for common jobs.

What can you make with an AI image maker?

Anything you can describe in words. These are the jobs people most often use the generator for:

  • Social media posts, carousels and story backgrounds in 1:1, 4:5 or 9:16.
  • Ad creatives and banners, including headline text rendered inside the image.
  • Product mockups and lifestyle scenes for online stores.
  • YouTube thumbnails and blog header images in 16:9.
  • Posters, flyers, menus and greeting cards with legible lettering.
  • Logos, icons and stickers with a transparent background (Qwen Image 2.1).
  • Concept art, characters, fantasy landscapes and illustrations in any style.
  • Infographics and simple diagrams (Muse Image looks up facts while it draws).

Tips for writing a prompt that works

Most bad results come from vague prompts. A useful prompt names the subject first, then the setting, then the style and the light.

  • Be concrete: “a red ceramic mug on a walnut desk, morning window light, shallow depth of field” beats “a nice mug photo”.
  • Put exact text in quotes, keep it short, and pick a text-strong model such as GPT Image 2.5 or Qwen Image 3.0 Pro.
  • Name the style or medium: photo, 3D render, watercolour, flat vector, anime, oil painting.
  • Choose the aspect ratio for where the image will be used before you generate, not after.
  • Test a prompt on a low-cost model first (Seedream 5 Flash or GPT Image 2.5 at 1K), then re-run the winner at 2K or 4K.
  • Change one thing at a time between runs so you can see what made the difference.

What the AI image generator can’t do

Knowing the limits saves credits:

  • This page works from text. To change an existing photo, combine several photos or keep a face consistent, use the AI Image Editor.
  • 4K is only offered by some models (see the table). On GPT Image 2, a 1:1 image can’t be 4K and the auto aspect ratio renders at 1K.
  • Each run produces one image. To compare models, run the same prompt on two models one after the other.
  • Very long or complex text can still come out misspelled. Keep on-image text to a few words.
  • Prompts that break the content policy are refused by the model provider, and the credits are refunded.

AI image generator or AI image editor: which do I need?

Use the generator when you are starting from nothing but an idea. Use the editor when you start from a photo: it changes backgrounds, outfits, objects and lighting, merges up to 16 reference images, erases areas you paint over and expands the canvas. Both use the same credits.

Frequently asked questions

Is the VdoBloom AI image generator free?

You can try it free. New accounts get 10 credits at sign-up, and images start at 1 credit (Muse Image) or 2 credits (Seedream 5 Flash), so the free credits make several images. After that, credit packs start at 300 credits for $19.50 one-time.

How many credits does one AI image cost?

It depends on the model and resolution. Muse Image costs 1 credit, Seedream 5 Flash 2, GPT Image 2.5 and Nano Banana 2.1 cost 3 credits at 1K, Seedream 4.5 costs 7, and Nano Banana Pro costs 18 (24 at 4K). The cost is shown on the Generate button before you spend anything.

Which AI image model is best?

There is no single best model; it depends on the job. For readable text, try GPT Image 2.5 or Qwen Image 3.0 Pro. For photoreal scenes, Nano Banana 2.1 or Seedream. For transparent PNGs, Qwen Image 2.1. For brand-colour graphics, Recraft V4. For low-cost drafts, Seedream 5 Flash.

Can the AI image generator make 4K images?

Yes, on supported models. Nano Banana Pro, Nano Banana 2 and 2.1, GPT Image 2 and 2.5, and WAN 2.7 Image have a 4K setting, and Seedream 4.5 and 5 Lite have a High (4K) quality tier. Other models output 1K or 2K.

Can it put readable text in an image?

Yes. Put the exact words in quotes in your prompt and use a text-strong model such as GPT Image 2.5, Qwen Image 3.0 Pro, ImagineArt 1.5 or Seedream 5.0 Pro. Short phrases render most reliably.

Can I make an image with a transparent background?

Yes. Qwen Image 2.1 can return a real transparent-background PNG or WebP, which suits logos, stickers and product cut-outs. For an existing photo, the Background Remover tool cuts out the subject.

Can I use the images commercially?

VdoBloom’s Terms of Service state that you retain ownership of the content you generate. You are responsible for how you use it, including not copying trademarks, logos or real people’s likeness without permission.

Do my credits expire?

Credits from one-time packs never expire. Subscription credits reset at the start of each billing cycle. Free sign-up credits work on every model.

Can I write prompts in a language other than English?

Yes. Switch on auto-translate under the prompt box and your prompt is translated before it is sent to the model. Some models, such as Seedream 5.0 Pro and Qwen, also handle multilingual text inside the image.

What is the difference between an AI image generator and an AI image maker?

They are two names for the same thing: a tool that creates a new image from a text description. On VdoBloom this page is the image maker for text prompts, and the AI Image Editor is the tool for changing photos you already have.
