Best AI Image Models in 2026 (Every Model VdoBloom Runs)

The best AI image model for each job in 2026: real VdoBloom credit costs from 1 to 24 credits, prompt limits, and which model to pick for text or 4K.

By VdoBloom Team

The best AI image model is the one that matches the job, and VdoBloom runs enough of them that the honest answer is a shortlist rather than a winner. For everyday work the default pick is Nano Banana 2.1 at 3 credits for 1K, GPT Image 2 when the image has to contain readable text, Nano Banana Pro when you need a 4K print, and Muse Image at 1 credit when you are only exploring an idea. Below are the eight models worth knowing, what each one is genuinely good at, and the real credit cost of a run.

How to read this list

Every price below is the actual VdoBloom credit cost, not a converted API rate, and several models charge by resolution rather than per image — so the same model is a cheap draft at 1K and a considered purchase at 4K. Prices are shown on the Generate button before anything runs, and the tables here let you plan around that instead of discovering it.

One thing up front: more models is not automatically better. A broad catalogue lets you pick for the job, but it also means the first decision is yours. If you would rather not think about it, Nano Banana 2.1 is the safe default.

1. Nano Banana 2.1 — the best all-round default at 3 credits

3 credits at 1K, 4 at 2K and 6 at 4K. It accepts up to 14 reference images, offers fifteen aspect ratios including auto and the extreme 1:8 and 8:1 crops, and supports 1K, 2K and 4K output with a prompt box that takes up to 5,000 characters. That combination of reference images and a low 1K price is why it is the model to reach for when you are iterating towards one image you intend to keep. The full walkthrough is in the Nano Banana 2.1 model page.

2. Seedream 5 Flash — the cheapest photoreal draft at 2 credits

2 credits for text-to-image and 4 for edits, with 1K and 2K output, eight aspect ratios from 1:1 to 21:9, and prompts up to 5,000 characters. It is the fastest and cheapest route into Seedream’s photoreal look, and a sensible first pass before you commit to a more expensive model. The trade is resolution: 2K is the ceiling here, so it is a draft and delivery model rather than a print model.

3. GPT Image 2 — the best model for text inside the image at 3 credits

3, 5 and 8 credits at 1K, 2K and 4K. Eleven aspect ratios including auto, and a prompt box that takes up to 20,000 characters. If the image has to contain a legible headline, a label or a sign, this is the family to start with, because the type is part of the generation rather than something added afterwards. Note that auto forces 1K and that 1:1 cannot be rendered at 4K. See the GPT Image 2 model page and the longer comparison in the best model for text in images.

4. Nano Banana Pro — the 4K option at 18 credits

18 credits at 1K and 2K, 24 at 4K. Ten aspect ratios, png and jpg output, up to 8 reference images. It costs several times what Nano Banana 2.1 does, which is rarely worth paying for social work. It earns the money on large output — a poster or a print, where resolution is the point.

5. Seedream 4.5 — 4K with precise control at 7 credits

A flat 7 credits for generation and 7 for edits, 4K output, eight aspect ratios, up to 10 references on the edit side and prompts up to 3,000 characters. It is cheaper than a 4K run on Nano Banana Pro and more controllable than the Flash variants. The 3,000-character prompt cap is the real limit — long briefs have to be trimmed.

6. Qwen Image 3.0 Pro — realism and typography at 6 credits

6 credits at 1K and 7 at 2K, eight aspect ratios, and a pro-grade emphasis on realism and typography. It is the strongest of the Qwen line here, and the plain Qwen Image 3.0 is 5 credits at both resolutions if you want the same ratios for less. The edit variant caps prompts at 800 characters, which is a hard provider limit rather than a preference, so keep edit instructions short.

7. Recraft V4 Pro — exact dimensions and brand colour at 22 credits

22 credits, 2K output, and something no other model in this list offers: fourteen exact pixel dimensions to choose from, up to 2688x1536, rather than an aspect ratio you have to hope renders correctly. It also takes a brand colour palette. It is the most expensive per run here, and it is the right answer when the image has to fit a specific slot or match a brand. There is also a Vector variant for output that can be scaled as a vector.

8. Muse Image — the cheapest way to explore at 1 credit

1 credit, fixed 2K output, eight aspect ratios, and up to 10 reference images on the edit side. Muse is built to reach for facts while it draws, which makes it unusually good at infographics, diagrams and images that need accurate text. At one credit it is the lowest-priced model in the catalogue by a wide margin, which makes it the right choice for testing an idea before you spend a real budget on it. More in the Muse Image guide.

Also worth knowing

  • Nano Banana 2 — 15 credits flat, fifteen ratios, up to 14 reference images, 1K/2K/4K. The older sibling: capable, but Nano Banana 2.1 beats it on price.
  • Seedream 5.0 Pro — 10 credits at Standard and 19 at High, with multi-reference fusion, layer separation and strong multilingual text.
  • WAN 2.7 Image Pro — 18 credits at 4K; the standard WAN 2.7 Image is 4 credits at 1K/2K/4K.
  • Grok Imagine Pro — 10 credits at 1K/2K, up to 20 reference images; the base Grok Imagine is 5 credits.
  • ImagineArt 2.0 — 10 credits, reasoning-based generation with 1K/2K output and twelve ratios.
  • FLUX Kontext Max — 10 credits; Kling IMAGE O1 — 14 credits with up to 10 references; Luma UNI-1 Max — 14 credits at 1K and 20 at 2K.
  • Utility models — FLUX Erase for object removal at 10 credits, FLUX Outpainting at 12, Boogu Image Edit at 3, P-Image-Edit at 6.

What VdoBloom does not do well

Honest limits, because they affect how you should use this list:

  • No single model wins. Want one model that is best at everything? This catalogue will feel like homework.
  • Resolution tiering is a real cost multiplier. Nano Banana Pro runs 18 credits at 2K and 24 at 4K; GPT Image 2 runs 3 at 1K and 8 at 4K.
  • Prompt caps vary. 3,000 characters on FLUX Kontext, Seedream 4.5 and Seedream 5 Lite; 800 on the Qwen 3.0 edit models.
  • You pay for images you delete. Only technical failures and moderation blocks are refunded.
  • The free tier is a trial, not a plan. 10 free credits cover a handful of 1K drafts.

How VdoBloom compares with dedicated image platforms

VdoBloom’s trade is breadth: many current models, one credit balance, one interface, and the same credits pay for video and audio. It is not a specialist drawing tool, so a dedicated platform will have a workflow built around one model family. Competitor details change often, so check each vendor’s site for current pricing.

None of those rows is a rating. They are what each platform is widely known for; free tiers and prices are the vendor’s to set, so verify before you commit.

Which one to pick, in one line each

  • Default: Nano Banana 2.1 at 3 credits.
  • Cheapest draft: Muse Image at 1 credit, Seedream 5 Flash at 2.
  • Text in the image: GPT Image 2 at 3 credits.
  • 4K print: Nano Banana Pro at 24 credits, or Seedream 4.5 at 7.
  • Exact dimensions or brand colour: Recraft V4 Pro at 22 credits.
  • Remove or extend something: FLUX Erase at 10, FLUX Outpainting at 12.

Credits are one balance across every model, priced before each run, so comparing two models on the same prompt costs only what the two runs cost. A new account starts with 10 free credits, the Lite plan is $15 a month for 300 credits ($10 a month billed yearly), one-time packs start at $10.39 for 200 credits and never expire, and India plans start at ₹199 a month. Full detail is on the pricing page.

Frequently asked questions

Which AI image model is the best in 2026?

There is no single winner, which is why this list is job-shaped rather than ranked. Nano Banana 2.1 at 3 credits covers most everyday work, GPT Image 2 leads for readable text, Nano Banana Pro is the 4K choice, and Recraft V4 Pro is for exact pixel sizes.

How much does an AI image cost on VdoBloom?

From 1 credit for Muse Image and 2 for Seedream 5 Flash up to 24 credits for a 4K Nano Banana Pro render. The price is shown on the Generate button before the run.

Does VdoBloom run Midjourney or Stable Diffusion?

No. The catalogue covers models such as the Nano Banana family, the GPT Image family, Seedream, Qwen, WAN, Recraft, FLUX, Muse, ImagineArt, Grok Imagine, Riverflow, Kling IMAGE O1 and Luma UNI-1. Midjourney and Stable Diffusion are separate platforms, and local Stable Diffusion runs on your own hardware.

Can I use the same prompt on several models to compare them?

Yes, and it is the sensible way to choose. Paste the identical prompt, keep the ratio and resolution fixed, and run it on two or three models. You pay each model’s own price for its run, and the comparison is meaningful because only one variable changed.

Are the images free to use commercially?

Output from a paid plan is watermark-free and comes with commercial rights. On the free 10 signup credits, generated images carry a watermark. You remain responsible for what you upload and generate, including having the rights to any photo you use as a reference.

Open the image generator, pick a model for the job, and the credit cost appears before you run it.
