AI Manga Generator — Turn a Written Story Into Drawn Panels

Paste a story of up to 500 words and VdoBloom turns it into a drawn sequence. It runs four stages in order: it analyses the story to pull out the title, characters and setting; it draws a reference sheet for each character; it plans a layout by breaking the story into 4 to 8 sequential panels; then it renders the panel art. You choose Manga or Comic style, and you can switch on No-Dialogue Mode if you would rather add your own lettering later.

The character reference step is what keeps the set coherent. Each character gets a reference sheet drawn first — neutral pose, plain background, full design visible — and that reference is carried into every panel, so a character's face and outfit do not drift from panel three to panel seven. Every panel in the layout plan carries its own panel number, cast list, scene description, dialogue line, camera angle and visual mood, so the sequence reads as a sequence rather than as eight unrelated illustrations.

How it works

  1. 1.Paste your story

    Up to 500 words. Longer submissions are rejected outright with the word count, so cut a long piece into chapters and run them one at a time. Dialogue written as dialogue helps the layout planner place speech bubbles.

  2. 2.Pick style and dialogue mode

    Manga or Comic. Turn on No-Dialogue Mode if you plan to letter the panels yourself in your own font.

  3. 3.Review the character sheets before drawing panels

    The generator produces reference sheets first. Regenerate any character you are not happy with at this stage — it is far cheaper than fixing a face across eight finished panels.

  4. 4.Generate the panels

    The layout plan becomes 4 to 8 rendered panels, each following its planned camera angle and visual mood, with the character references locked in.

  5. 5.Regenerate stragglers, then download the ZIP

    Any single panel can be regenerated on its own without rerunning the story. When the set looks right, download all panels at once as a ZIP.

Frequently asked questions

How long can my story be?

500 words maximum. The backend checks the word count and rejects longer stories with the exact count it measured, so there is no ambiguity. For a longer work, split it into 500-word beats and generate each as its own panel set.

How many panels will I get?

Between 4 and 8. The layout planner decides based on how many distinct beats it finds in your story, and each panel comes with its own scene description, camera angle, visual mood and cast list before anything is drawn.

Will my characters look the same across every panel?

That is the purpose of the character reference stage. Each character is drawn once as a reference sheet — neutral pose, plain background, full design visible — and that sheet is carried into every panel. Review and regenerate the references before you generate panels; the whole set inherits them.

Can I generate panels without speech bubbles?

Yes. Switch on No-Dialogue Mode and every panel is rendered without lettering, which is what you want if you intend to add your own typography or translate the dialogue afterwards.

Can I redo just one panel I do not like?

Yes. Individual panels can be regenerated on their own, and so can individual character references. You never have to rerun the whole story to fix a single frame.

How do I get the finished artwork out?

Download all panels at once as a single ZIP file, or save individual panels. The panels come out as separate images, so you arrange them into a page layout, webtoon strip or PDF in whatever tool you prefer.
