How are the frames picked?

They are spaced evenly across the section you choose, each taken from the middle of its slice, so you get a fair spread of the whole clip.

What resolution are the frames?

The original resolution, capped at 1280 px on the long side.

Is it really free, and are there limits?

Yes, it is free with no sign-up and no watermark. To keep it free for everyone, videos can be up to 50 MB and 3 minutes long, and each network gets a limited number of runs per day.

What happens to my video?

Your upload is processed on our server and deleted as soon as the job finishes. The result is kept for download for a few hours and removed within a day. We never publish or reuse it.
