How to Make High-Budget Brand and Sales Videos on a Budget
How to make high-budget brand video ads on a small budget with an AI brand kit and script generator, plus real model credit costs.
A high-budget brand video on a small budget is mostly a consistency problem, not a spend problem. On VdoBloom the workflow is two steps: save your brand once in the Brand Kit so every asset carries the same logo, colours, tone and offers, then generate the ad itself in Advertisement, which takes a concept, a tagline and your selling points and turns them into a scripted, styled video. Credits are bought once and never expire, so a campaign does not have to be paid for monthly.

Why brand consistency is the cheap upgrade
What makes a small-budget ad look cheap is rarely the footage. It is the drift: a different shade of orange in each asset, a tagline that changes wording, a logo with slightly different spacing. Advertisers read that as amateur, and viewers read it as untrustworthy. Fixing it costs nothing but a one-time setup, and it is the difference between a set of clips and a campaign.
That is what a brand kit is for. Instead of retyping your colours and offers into every prompt, you store them once and the ad tools read from them.
Step 1: set up the brand kit once
Open Brand Kit and paste your website URL. The Read button fetches one page โ its title, colours, icons and offers โ and drafts a kit from what it finds. Nothing is saved until you save it, so you can review the draft first.
Then edit the fields. The kit stores:
- Identity: brand name (up to 80 characters), a logo image (a square PNG works best), and your website URL.
- Colour: primary, secondary and accent colours, each with a colour picker.
- Voice: tone (up to 120 characters), font vibe (up to 120) and tagline (up to 120).
- Positioning: what you sell (up to 400 characters), your industry, your value proposition (up to 300) and target audience (up to 200).
- Offers and messages: up to five key offers (120 characters each) and up to five key messages (160 characters each).
You can keep more than one brand and mark one as the default. The default brand pre-fills the ad tools โ the Ad Creative Pack, Listing Set, Social Media, UGC Ad, Ad Variants and the Advertisement tool โ which is exactly what stops the drift. If you have never written these fields down, our guide to building a brand style guide with AI is a good exercise to run first.
Step 2: generate the ad
The Advertisement tool (also reachable as /dashboard/video-creation/advertisement/) has two routes in. Choose Template picks from a searchable, categorised library of ad templates with video previews, which is the fast path when one of them fits. AI Script Generator is the custom path, and it is the one worth learning.
The script generator takes five inputs:
- Concept โ one or two lines describing the ad, 3 to 600 characters. This is the creative direction.
- Brand name โ up to 80 characters.
- Tagline โ up to 140 characters.
- Specific inclusions โ up to 800 characters for shots or elements you want in the video.
- Voiceover lines โ optional, up to 1,200 characters. Leave it blank and the AI writes the voiceover for you.
Target duration defaults to 15 seconds. The request accepts anything from 1 to 60 seconds, but the director prompt clamps the actual direction to between 5 and 30 seconds, so plan your script around that window rather than around 60.
The generation flow, start to finish
- Describe the product. Name it, list the two or three selling points that matter, and set the tone โ energetic, premium, friendly or informative. This is the only place the tone is set.
- Pick a style and a format. Style sets the look; aspect ratio sets the placement. 9:16 for Reels, Shorts and TikTok, 1:1 for feed and marketplace, 16:9 for YouTube pre-roll and website heroes.
- Write the concept, not the storyboard. One or two lines: the problem, the product, the payoff. Leave the shot list to the Specific inclusions field if you have one in mind.
- Add inclusions sparingly. Two or three must-have shots beat a list of ten. Ten instructions in a 15-second ad means none of them land.
- Write the voiceover, or let it write itself. If you have a tagline you must use, type it. If not, leave the field empty and edit the generated lines afterwards rather than before.
- Check the credit cost, then generate. The price appears before you confirm, and unique to a fixed script it depends mainly on the model and the length.
- Download and publish. Paid output is watermark-free with commercial rights.
Which model to pick
Ad length is usually 5 to 30 seconds, and the models differ a lot on both price and duration ceiling. A few real numbers from the credit tables, at a 5-second 720p clip unless noted:
| Model | What it costs | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Runway Gen-3 | 10 credits for 5 seconds at 720p | The cheapest way to test a shot idea |
| Grok Imagine Video | 8 credits for 5 seconds at 480p | Fast, cheap drafting by the second |
| Kling 3.0 | About 28 credits for 5 seconds on the std tier | Short hero shots, with a 4K tier available at a much higher rate |
| Wan 2.7 | 32 credits for 5 seconds at 720p | Native audio in the clip |
| Wan 3.0 | 32 credits for 5 seconds at 720p | Clips up to 30 seconds in one take |
| Seedance 2 Mini | 33 credits for 10 seconds at 720p | Longer, cheap B-roll shots |
| Veo 3.1 Fast | 40 credits flat per generation | Fixed-price generation with no duration selector |
Two practical notes. First, models also cap the prompt differently โ the Ad tool supports 1,800 characters on Runway models and 2,500 on Kling, so a very long script is better suited to a model with the higher limit. Second, when you re-run the same concept on a more expensive model, keep the prompt byte-identical so the comparison means something. For the short-form version of this workflow, the UGC ad from a product photo walkthrough covers the creator-style approach.
Prompt examples
These are shaped for the Concept, Specific inclusions and Voiceover fields.
- Premium skincare, 15 seconds. Concept: A single bottle on a wet stone surface at dawn, water beading on the glass, shot like a fragrance campaign. Inclusions: macro of the droplet, slow tilt up the label, final pack shot on the brand colour. Voiceover: short, quiet, one benefit per line.
- D2C coffee, 20 seconds. Concept: The morning routine of someone who takes coffee seriously, from grind to first sip. Inclusions: close-up of the grind, steam in backlight, the mug held in both hands. Tone: warm and unhurried.
- App promo, 15 seconds. Concept: The three seconds of friction the app removes, shown before the app appears. Inclusions: a hand holding a phone, one screen change, the logo on the brand colour. Tone: energetic.
- Festive offer, 15 seconds. Concept: A Diwali gifting scene where the product is the gift, not the decoration. Inclusions: warm practical lights, hands wrapping, the product centred. Tone: celebratory but restrained.
Common mistakes
- Writing a whole storyboard into the Concept field. It is one or two lines of direction, not a script. Put specific shots in Inclusions.
- Stacking ten inclusions into a 15-second ad. Two or three land; ten do not.
- Setting a 60-second target. The director prompt works in a 5 to 30 second window, so plan for that.
- Skipping the brand kit. This is what makes a set of clips read as one campaign instead of six unrelated videos.
- Generating at full resolution before the concept works. Draft the idea cheaply, confirm it, then re-run at final settings.
- Leaving the aspect ratio to chance. Set 9:16 or 1:1 before generating rather than cropping a widescreen master afterwards.
Stretching the budget further
Credits on VdoBloom are bought once and never expire, which changes the maths for campaign work: you can buy a block now and spend it across a quarter rather than losing what a monthly plan does not use. Lite is $15/month for 300 credits, or $10/month billed yearly, and one-time packs start at $10.39 for 200 credits. India plans start at โน199/month. Everything shows its exact credit cost before you generate, and failed generations are refunded automatically. Full rates are on the pricing page.
Two more habits keep costs down. Generate one concept across two aspect ratios rather than re-shooting for each placement, because recomposing at the prompt is cheaper than cropping in post. And keep a small library of the shots that worked โ a pack shot, an establishing move, a product-in-hand close-up โ so a new campaign starts from assets you already paid for. Different verticals need different pacing, and the static ad creative pack workflow is worth pairing with this one when a campaign needs stills as well as video.
Frequently asked questions
Can I make a brand video without a subscription?
Yes. On VdoBloom you can buy a one-time credit pack from $10.39 for 200 credits and spend it whenever you like, because credits never expire. A subscription is available if you generate every month โ Lite is $15/month for 300 credits, or $10/month billed yearly.
What does the Brand Kit actually store?
Your brand name, logo, three brand colours, tone, font vibe, tagline, what you sell, industry, value proposition, target audience, and up to five key offers and five key messages. The default brand pre-fills the Advertisement tool, the Ad Creative Pack, Listing Set, Social Media, UGC Ad and Ad Variants tabs.
How long can the generated ad be?
The target duration field accepts 1 to 60 seconds, but the director prompt clamps the direction to a 5 to 30 second window. The field defaults to 15 seconds, which is where most social ads sit anyway.
Does it write the voiceover?
Yes. The voiceover field is optional โ leave it empty and the AI writes the lines, up to 1,200 characters. If you have a tagline that must be used exactly, type it into the voiceover field rather than hoping it survives the generation.
Which model should I use for an ad?
Start cheap to test the concept: a Runway Gen-3 720p 5-second clip is 10 credits. Move up once the idea works โ Wan 3.0 at 32 credits for 5 seconds at 720p gives you up to 30 seconds in one take, Kling 3.0 std is about 28 credits for 5 seconds, and Veo 3.1 Fast is a flat 40 credits per generation.
Set up the brand once in the Brand Kit, then generate the video in Advertisement โ the cost is shown before anything runs. New accounts start with 10 free credits and no card, and paid output is watermark-free with commercial rights.
