Vidu Q4 Image to Video is the photo-animation mode of Shengshu's newest Vidu model on VdoBloom. You upload one photo, describe the motion and the camera, and get a clip of any whole-second length from 4 to 15 seconds at 720p or 1080p, with audio requested on every job. There is no aspect-ratio menu: the request carries only your photo, so frame it the way you want the video framed.

It is billed per second, not per clip: 6.08 credits a second at 720p and 7.68 at 1080p, rounded up to a whole credit per job. A 5-second 720p clip is 31 credits, 10 seconds is 61 and the full 15 seconds at 1080p is 116. No subscription is needed: a one-time 300-credit pack is $19.50 and those credits never expire, or the Lite plan is $15 a month for 300 credits. The cost is shown before you generate and refunded automatically if the job fails.

Vidu Q4 Image to Video specs at a glance

Every row below comes from VdoBloom's model configuration, the Vidu Q4 endpoint and the credit table, not from a launch post. The two rows people get wrong most often are aspect ratio (there is no control in this mode) and length (any whole second from 4 to 15, not fixed steps).

What Vidu Q4 costs: every length you can pick

The meter is linear: seconds times 6.08 credits at 720p or 7.68 at 1080p, rounded up once at the end. Because the slider moves one second at a time, you pay for exactly the length you set. A 6-second 1080p clip (47 credits) costs less than a 10-second 720p clip (61 credits), so a short shot can usually afford the higher resolution. The dollar figures use the Lite plan rate of $15 for 300 credits ($0.05 a credit); on a one-time pack ($19.50 for 300, never expiring) the same clips cost about 30% more in dollars, with nothing to cancel.

New accounts get 10 free credits. That does not reach the 25-credit minimum for Vidu Q4, so plan on a top-up before the first render.

Vidu Q4 vs Vidu Q3 Turbo vs Kling 3.0

All three sit in the Image to Video picker, so switching is one dropdown. Vidu Q3 Turbo is the cheapest of the three per clip and the only one that reaches 16 seconds, but it offers just three lengths (5, 8 or 16 seconds) and its audio is an opt-in toggle. Kling 3.0 in standard mode is billed per second like Vidu Q4 and is slightly cheaper silent (5.6 credits a second against 6.08), but adding sound lifts it to 8.0 a second, above Vidu Q4's 720p rate, which already includes audio. Vidu Q4's advantage is the combination: any length from 4 to 15 seconds, audio on every job and one flat rate per resolution.

Image to Video or Reference to Video: which Vidu Q4 mode

Vidu Q4 appears twice in the picker, and the two modes answer different questions. Image to Video starts from a picture you already have and makes it move; the photo is the shot. Reference to Video starts from a description and uses up to nine uploaded images to pin down what the people, products or places in it look like; the shot is built new. Both modes share the same 4-15 second range, the same two resolutions and the same per-second price, so the choice is about the input, not the budget.

  • Pick Image to Video when the composition in your photo is the composition you want on screen, and you only need motion and camera.
  • Pick Reference to Video when the frame you want does not exist yet as a photo, when two separately photographed subjects need to share a shot, or when you need 4:3, 3:4, 1:1, 16:9 or 9:16 regardless of your source images.
  • Both modes need a prompt in the dashboard. In Image to Video it should describe motion and camera; in Reference to Video it also has to say who is who and where the scene takes place.

Where to run Vidu Q4 on VdoBloom

Vidu Q4 is an image-to-video model only. It does not appear in the Text to Video picker, because every job needs a photo.

  • Image to Video tab: upload the photo, choose Vidu Q4 from the Vidu Q4 group, set the duration slider (4-15 s) and 720p or 1080p, and the button shows the credit cost before you confirm.
  • Direct photo-effect tabs: the expanded effect model list includes Vidu Q4 Image to Video on the effect tabs that do not use the keyframe pipeline. The tab supplies the effect prompt; you supply the photo, and the same per-second price applies.
  • My Creations: finished clips land in your library for download, and failed jobs are refunded to the balance they were paid from.

Prompting Vidu Q4 from a photo

The photo already fixes the subject, the clothes, the light and the framing, so the prompt should spend its words on what changes. Name the subject's action first, then the camera: "she turns toward the window and smiles, slow push-in" does more than a paragraph re-describing the room. Give one clear action per 4-6 seconds; a 15-second clip with a single verb tends to drift or repeat, while a 15-second clip described in three beats (what happens early, in the middle and at the end) gives the model something to fill the time with.

Because audio is on for every dashboard job, it is worth one sentence on sound: ambience, a footstep rhythm, or that the scene should stay quiet. Draft at 4-5 seconds and 720p (25-31 credits) until the motion reads, then re-run the identical photo and prompt at the final length. Crop before uploading: if the photo is landscape and the post is vertical, the fix is in the photo, not in the settings.

Limits and honest caveats

There is no aspect-ratio control in this mode, so a mismatched photo means a mismatched video; crop first or use Reference to Video. The dashboard offers 720p and 1080p only; no 4K. Audio cannot be switched off from the dashboard, which matters if you plan to replace the soundtrack anyway (you can mute or replace it in your editor; the price is the same either way). The 10 free signup credits do not cover the 25-credit minimum. Lengths stop at 15 seconds; for a 16-second single take within the Vidu family, Vidu Q3 Turbo or Vidu Q3 reach 16 at fixed steps.

Vidu Q4 is a proprietary Shengshu model run through VdoBloom's provider route, not downloadable weights, so availability depends on that provider; when a job fails there, the credits come back automatically. VdoBloom does not rank models on subjective quality. Everything above is spec and price; whether Vidu Q4's motion suits your photo is something a 25-credit draft answers faster than any review.

What creators use Vidu Q4 for

  • Animating a product photo into a 6-8 second turn, push-in or reveal for a listing or a story, paying only for the seconds you choose (37 or 49 credits at 720p).
  • Turning a portrait into a single 12-15 second motion shot at 1080p without stitching two shorter clips and fighting a visible join.
  • Keeping a vertical phone photo vertical for Reels and Shorts: the job sends only your image, so a 9:16 photo is the frame you are working with.
  • Drafting a motion idea at 4 seconds and 720p for 25 credits, then re-running the same photo and prompt at the final length and resolution.
  • Running a direct photo effect (laughing, hugging and similar tabs outside the keyframe group) on Vidu Q4 instead of the tab's default model.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Vidu Q4 Image to Video cost on VdoBloom?

It is billed per second: 6.08 credits a second at 720p and 7.68 at 1080p, rounded up per job. A 5-second clip is 31 credits at 720p or 39 at 1080p; 10 seconds is 61 or 77; the 15-second maximum is 92 or 116. At the Lite rate of $0.05 a credit, 5 seconds at 720p is $1.55. The exact figure is shown before you generate.

Can I try Vidu Q4 for free?

Not on the signup credits alone. New accounts get 10 free credits and the cheapest Vidu Q4 render, 4 seconds at 720p, is 25. A one-time 300-credit pack is $19.50 and never expires, which covers about nine 5-second 720p clips.

How long can a Vidu Q4 video be?

Any whole number of seconds from 4 to 15 in the dashboard, chosen on a slider. Each extra second adds 6.08 credits at 720p or 7.68 at 1080p.

Does Vidu Q4 support 4K?

Not in the VdoBloom dashboard. The Vidu Q4 picker offers 720p and 1080p. If you need 4K from a photo, the Kling 3.0 4K mode and other 4K image-to-video models are in the same picker.

Can I choose the aspect ratio in Vidu Q4 Image to Video?

No. The job sends only your photo and the prompt, with no ratio setting, so crop the photo to the frame you want before uploading. If you need to pick 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3 or 3:4 explicitly, use Vidu Q4 Reference to Video.

Does Vidu Q4 generate sound?

Yes. The dashboard requests audio on every Vidu Q4 job and the per-second price already includes it; there is no audio surcharge and no toggle to turn it off.

Is a prompt required with the photo?

Yes, the Image to Video tab asks for a prompt before it generates. It can be short: one sentence naming the action and the camera move is enough, and the cap is 20,000 characters.

Vidu Q4 vs Vidu Q3 Turbo: which should I use?

Vidu Q3 Turbo is cheaper per clip (20 credits for 5 seconds at 720p against 31) and reaches 16 seconds, but only at 5, 8 or 16 seconds, and its audio is an opt-in toggle. Vidu Q4 lets you pick any length from 4 to 15 seconds and requests audio on every job. Q3 Turbo also works from text alone; Vidu Q4 always needs a photo.

Vidu Q4 vs Kling 3.0: which is cheaper?

It depends on sound. Kling 3.0 standard is 5.6 credits a second without sound (28 credits for 5 seconds) and 8.0 with sound (40 credits). Vidu Q4 at 720p is 6.08 a second with audio included (31 credits for 5 seconds). Silent, Kling 3.0 is a little cheaper; with sound, Vidu Q4 is.

Do I need a Vidu or KIE account or API key?

No. VdoBloom runs Vidu Q4 for you through its provider route; you sign in, pick the model in the Image to Video tab and pay in VdoBloom credits. Vidu Q4 is a proprietary Shengshu model with no downloadable weights.
