Short answer

VdoBloom is the Runway alternative for pay-as-you-go creators: Runway Gen-4.5 and Gen-4 Turbo sit next to Veo 3.1, Kling 3.0 Omni and Seedance 2.5 in one wallet, with no subscription, one-time credits that never expire, the cost shown before you generate and automatic refunds. Runway itself is the better choice for professional post-production — Aleph editing, inpainting, Brand Kits, voice clones and ProRes/HDR output — and its free plan’s 125 credits never expire either.

How Runway works and what it costs

Runway’s pricing page (runway.com/pricing, read on 17 October 2026) lists a “Free forever” plan with a one-time 125 credits and three subscriptions: Standard at $15 per month ($12 billed annually) with 625 credits a month, Pro at $35 ($28 annually) with 2,250 credits, and Max at $95 ($76 annually) with 9,500 credits. Parallel generations are 5, 15 and 20; projects are capped at 3, 5 and 10; storage is 20 GB, 100 GB and 500 GB (5 GB on Free).

The page is unusually explicit about credits. “On the Standard and Pro plans, monthly credits don’t roll over” and reset within 24 hours of the billing date; Max rolls over up to one month of unused credits; “any additional credits you purchase never expire” (with a 1,000-credit minimum top-up, available from Pro); and the Free plan’s 125 credits do not expire. Standard lists “no watermarks”. Models named include Gen-4.5, Gen-4, Gen-4 Turbo, Aleph 2.0, Kling 3.0, Seedance 2.0 and 2.5, Wan 3.0 and Nano Banana Pro.

Do Runway credits expire?

Monthly plan credits do: Runway’s own page says that on Standard and Pro “monthly credits don’t roll over”, resetting within 24 hours of your billing date, and that Max keeps at most one month of unused credits. Credits you buy as a top-up never expire — but top-ups start at 1,000 credits and are available from the Pro plan upward, so the never-expiring route begins at a $35-per-month subscription.

VdoBloom starts from the other end: every one-time pack never expires, including the smallest ($10.39 for 200 credits, ₹299 for 75 in India), and no plan is required to buy one.

Is Runway free to use, and is there a watermark?

Runway’s Free plan is genuinely free and its 125 credits do not expire, which is more generous than many trials. It is capped to a selection of models and 5 GB of storage. The page lists “no watermarks” for Standard and does not state the Free plan’s watermark status, so we leave that open.

VdoBloom gives free starter credits at sign-up with no card, and paid output has no watermark whether it was bought with a pack or a plan.

Can I use Runway’s models without a Runway subscription?

Yes. VdoBloom offers Runway Gen-4.5 and Gen-4 Turbo for text-to-video and image-to-video alongside Veo 3.1, Kling 3.0 Omni, Seedance 2.5, Wan 3.0, Hailuo, PixVerse and Vidu Q4 — 65+ models in one wallet — each with its credit cost listed on its model page. What you do not get outside Runway is Runway’s editing stack: Aleph, inpainting, the Brand Kit and voice clones are Runway-app features.

Can I pay Runway in rupees or with UPI?

Runway’s pricing page shows USD and does not mention INR or UPI. VdoBloom bills Indian users through Razorpay in rupees, with UPI, cards and net banking; outside India you pay in USD.

What about refused prompts?

Runway’s pricing page does not cover moderation, so we make no claim about what it refuses. VdoBloom shows a content badge on every model before you generate, so you can pick the filter level that fits the job, and if a provider rejects a submitted job the credits are refunded automatically.

What VdoBloom does differently

VdoBloom removes the monthly reset from the picture. There is no subscription to hold, one-time credits never expire, the credit cost of each clip is shown before you click generate, and failed generations are refunded automatically. If you prefer a monthly plan, Lite is $15 per month ($10 billed yearly) in USD or Starter is ₹199 in India — but the packs are what most people use.

Runway Gen-4.5 and Gen-4 Turbo are in the same picker as Veo 3.1, Kling 3.0 Omni, Seedance 2.5, Wan 3.0, Hailuo, Runway-class image models and the new Vidu Q4, with 70+ one-click effect templates on top. Indian users pay in rupees via UPI; everyone else in USD.

When Runway is the better choice

Runway is the better choice for professional post-production. Aleph editing, video inpainting, Brand Kits, custom voice clones, unlimited 4K upscaling and — on Max — HDR, ProRes and image-sequence output are production features VdoBloom does not try to match. Teams also get 15–20 parallel generations and project workspaces. And if 125 credits are all you need, Runway’s free plan never expires.

VdoBloom is the better choice if you mainly generate rather than edit, want Runway’s models alongside Veo, Kling and Seedance, and would rather buy credits that keep than a plan that resets.
