How to Make an AI Photodump or AI Photoshoot (Trend Photo Sets)

How to make an AI photodump or photoshoot from one photo: 15 VdoBloom trend sets, 5 credits an image, and keeping the set consistent.

By VdoBloom Team

An AI photodump is a small set of themed photos built from one picture of your face rather than from a shoot. On VdoBloom, open Viral Photo Trends in the images dashboard, upload one well-lit photo, pick a trend — action figure, saree portrait, 80s/90s retro, yearbook, anime, clay figure and more — and generate at 5 credits an image on GPT Image 2.5 or 18 on Nano Banana Pro, with your face kept and the output upscaled.

Updated October 2026.

What a photodump is, and what it is not

A photodump is a post that is not about one picture: it is a carousel of four to ten images that read as a set — the same person, the same week, different moments. Its appeal is pace. Nothing in it has to be the best photo you own, because the format rewards volume and variety over a single perfect frame.

That is exactly what an AI photodump changes. Instead of ten real moments, you generate ten themed ones from one input photo, and the set holds together because the face is constant while the scene changes. What it is not: a photoshoot you can direct shot by shot, or a filter. A filter tints a photo you already have; these tools build a new scene around your face and put you inside it. There is no prompt box in this tab — you choose a trend, and the trend sets the whole scene: setting, lighting, props and mood.

Before you start: the two rules

  • Use your own photo, or a photo of an adult who has agreed. The tool carries that instruction directly on the page: only photos of yourself or of adults who agreed, never celebrities, public figures or minors. Two of the trends take a second person’s photo, and the same consent rule applies to them.
  • One clear input photo beats five mediocre ones. Front-facing, evenly lit, no sunglasses or hats, one person in the frame. The result reads as you precisely to the extent that the input makes that possible.

How to make one on VdoBloom

  1. Open Viral Photo Trends under Images in the dashboard. The tab is described as trend photo sets with your face kept.
  2. Choose the trend you want. Each one is a separate tool with its own scene, and each takes one person photo — except the couple and future-baby trends, which take two.
  3. Upload the photo. Faces are processed at a fixed 3:4 portrait shape for every trend except pixel art, which is square.
  4. Check the model and the price. Each card shows the cost per image, and the total is displayed before you press Create.
  5. Generate. The tools run with upscaling on, so the output is sized for posting rather than for a thumbnail.
  6. Repeat for the rest of the set, using the same input photo every time. That is what makes it a photodump rather than a folder of unrelated images.
  7. Post four to six as a carousel, in an order that alternates settings rather than grouping all the toy-box shots together.

If you do not know where to start, the tab has a Surprise me control that picks for you, which is a cheap way to find out which trend suits your face before you commit to a theme.

Fifteen trends sit in this tab, and they fall into four families:

  • Toy and figure sets: action figure / toy box, doll box portrait, big-head vinyl figure, toy brick minifigure, clay figure. These put you inside packaging or turn you into a figurine, which is why they dominate photodumps — the format is instantly readable at thumbnail size.
  • Cultural and seasonal portraits: saree and Diwali portrait, Diwali couple portrait. These are built for festive posting, and the couple version takes two photos so both people appear.
  • Retro and archive looks: 80s/90s retro photo, AI yearbook 90s. Both lean on decade-specific grain, lighting and wardrobe, and both work best when the whole carousel shares the era.
  • Stylised character looks: 3D animated character, anime portrait, pixel art portrait, gender swap, maternity portrait and future baby. The last two are the emotional ones, and both involve a second person or a second photo.

A photodump usually mixes one family with one wildcard. Five toy-box shots in a row reads as a product demo; three toy-box shots and two retro frames reads as a post.

What it costs

ModelCredits per image at 2K
GPT Image 2.5 (default)5
Nano Banana Pro18

GPT Image 2.5 is the default and runs at 2K for 5 credits; at 1K it is 3 credits and at 4K, 8. A six-image photodump on the default model is 30 credits, and the price is displayed before you generate. New accounts start with 10 free credits and no card required — enough for two images on the default model, so you can see how your own face behaves in a trend before spending anything. VdoBloom’s pricing runs from Lite at $15/month for 300 credits to one-time packs from $10.39 for 200 credits that never expire, and paid output is watermark-free with commercial rights.

Making it look like a real photoshoot rather than a set of stickers

The difference between a good photodump and a folder of novelty images is continuity, and continuity is mostly about the inputs you choose.

  • Keep the same input photo. One photo across every trend. The face stays consistent because the source stays consistent.
  • Keep the set small. Four to six images. A carousel that never ends is a scroll, not a dump.
  • Sequence by contrast. Alternate a bold scene with a quiet one; a portrait next to a wide theatrical one reads as a set with a rhythm.
  • Check the skin. Plastic-looking skin is the most common giveaway, and it comes from over-smoothed generation rather than from the input photo. If a frame looks waxy, regenerate it rather than posting it — the fix is usually a fresh run, not an edit.
  • Look at the hands and any text. Small details are where these models still fail. If a frame has four fingers or a garbled label, it is the one image in a carousel that people will notice, so redo it.

AI photoshoot, AI photodump, or a real shoot?

OptionWhat you getBest for
A real photoshootYour actual body, actual clothes, directed lightingProduct work, press, anything needing a genuine record
AI trend photo setA themed scene built around your face, from one photoProfile pictures, festive posts, trend carousels
Traditional AI headshotsA consistent set of professional frames in one lookCVs, LinkedIn, speaker bios

For anything where the image is a record of a real event — a wedding, a product you are shipping, a team photo — shoot it for real. For a profile refresh, a seasonal post or a trend carousel, the generated set does the job in minutes at a cost of a few credits.

Common mistakes

  • Using a group photo as the input. The model has to decide whose face to keep. Crop to one person.
  • Uploading someone else’s picture. The consent rule is on the page for a reason, and unconsented photos of real people are refused.
  • Generating all fifteen trends. They do not compose as one post. Pick a theme and stay inside it.
  • Posting the raw exports without sequencing them. Order is half of what makes a carousel read as intentional.
  • Ignoring the aspect ratio. Everything here is 3:4 except pixel art, which is square — if you are assembling a carousel, know that one frame will change shape.

Frequently asked questions

What is an AI photodump?

A set of themed photos generated from one picture of your face, posted together as a carousel. On VdoBloom you pick a trend from the Viral Photo Trends tab, upload one photo and generate — the face is kept and the scene around it is replaced.

How much does one image cost?

5 credits per image on GPT Image 2.5 at 2K, which is the default, or 18 credits on Nano Banana Pro at 2K. GPT Image 2.5 is 3 credits at 1K and 8 at 4K, and the total is shown before you generate.

How many photos do I need to upload?

One clear photo for most trends. The Diwali couple portrait and the future baby trend take two, because they need a second person.

Can I make one with someone else’s photo?

Only with their permission. The tool’s instruction is to use photos of yourself or of adults who agreed, and never celebrities, public figures or minors. Unconsented uploads of real people are refused.

Can I write a prompt to control the scene?

No. This tab has no prompt box — each trend is a fixed scene, and the tool sets the setting, lighting and props for you. Your decisions are the trend, the input photo and the model. If you want to direct an image with a written prompt, use the image generation tab instead.

Open Viral Photo Trends and generate your first image with the free signup credits. For specific looks, see the action figure toy box guide, saree portraits and 80s and 90s retro photos — and if a frame comes out looking artificial, fixing plastic skin explains why.
