Commercial Rights on VdoBloom: Watermarks, Ownership and What You Can Legally Sell

Who owns AI video generated on VdoBloom, exactly which accounts download without a watermark, what the terms say about privacy, and the four limits commercial rights never cover.

On VdoBloom you keep ownership of everything you generate, but a clean, watermark-free file with commercial rights requires a paid account — and the cheapest way in is a one-time $2.49 credit pack, not a subscription. Free accounts can generate and download; their downloads simply carry the VdoBloom logo. Ownership and watermarking are two separate questions, and most of the confusion about AI video licensing comes from treating them as one.

Who owns the output

VdoBloom’s terms are explicit: you retain ownership of any content — videos, images, audio or text — that you upload or generate using the service. There is no revenue share, no per-view royalty and no separate commercial licence to buy on top of your credits. What you do grant back is a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence for VdoBloom to store, process, serve and promote your content so the platform can actually operate. That is the standard hosting grant every generation platform needs in order to keep your file on a CDN and show it back to you; it does not take your ownership away and it does not stop you selling the result.

The flip side sits in the same clause. You warrant that you hold the rights, licences and permissions for everything you submit. Uploading a photo you do not have permission to use does not become legal because a model processed it, and the platform’s ownership grant covers only the output, not your rights in the input.

The watermark: who gets one, and where

The rule in the code is simple. If you are signed out or your account tier is FREE, visual downloads are watermarked. Every paid tier — including the one-time credit packs, not only subscriptions — downloads the original file untouched. The watermark is the VdoBloom logo placed top-right at 8% of the frame width at 80% opacity, and it is applied server-side at download time, not baked into the stored generation. Audio downloads are never watermarked, because there is no audio watermarking pipeline.

One consequence worth knowing: a watermarked video has to be re-encoded on the way out, while a paid download streams the original file. So the paid download is not only cleaner, it is also the untouched master rather than a second-generation encode.

For a single client deliverable, the $2.49 pack is the honest answer. Seventy-five credits will not carry a whole campaign, but they will pay for a finished 720p Kling 3.0 Omni clip (40 credits for 5 seconds) with room to spare, and the credits sit in your account indefinitely because one-time packs never expire. Full tiers are laid out on the pricing page, and if you only ever want the clean-file behaviour explained in one place, the watermark-free generator page covers it.

The privacy clause most people miss

Watermarks are not the only difference between free and paid. Under the terms, videos generated on a free account are private for a limited window of roughly ten minutes and may become publicly accessible after that unless the account is upgraded. Paid subscribers keep generations private at all times, and self-service instant removal of a generated video is a premium feature. If you are producing anything confidential — an unreleased product, a client’s footage, anything under NDA — do not draft it on a free account. That is a disclosure problem, not a watermark problem, and no amount of credit spending afterwards un-publishes something that was already exposed.

What commercial rights do not cover

Owning your output is not the same as being free to publish it. Four limits bite regularly:

  • Other people’s faces. Any effect that animates a photograph of a real person — a fashion walk, a dance, a hug, a kiss — requires that you have that person’s consent to use their likeness, and commercial use of a recognisable face normally needs a written release on top of consent.
  • Trademarks and brand assets. Generating a logo, a character or a trade dress that belongs to someone else infringes their rights no matter who owns the pixels. Ownership of the file is not a licence to the brand inside it.
  • Music and voices. Models with native audio generate their own soundtrack, but if you add a commercial track in your editor you need that track’s licence separately. A cloned or imitated real voice carries its own consent requirement.
  • Platform and ad rules. Ad networks increasingly require AI-generated creative to be disclosed, and each social platform sets its own synthetic-media labelling policy. Those obligations are yours, not the generator’s.

There is also a content boundary that no plan removes. VdoBloom’s models are labelled by content-filter strictness and the flexible tier will produce swimwear, dance, fitness and fashion work that stricter tools refuse — that is a deliberate difference, documented on the flexible-models page. Explicit sexual content and anything illegal stay blocked on every tier, paid or not, and paying does not unlock them.

A checklist before you publish commercially

  1. Confirm your account is on a paid tier before the final render, so the download comes back clean and private rather than watermarked.
  2. Download using the paid path, not a screen recording or a right-click on the preview player — those capture the watermarked or compressed version.
  3. For any recognisable person, get written consent and, for paid media, a likeness release. Keep it on file.
  4. Clear any third-party music, footage or brand asset you added after generation.
  5. Check the destination platform’s AI-disclosure rules and label the creative if required.
  6. Archive the master file locally. Your rights do not depend on the platform, but your convenient copy does.

Do those six things and the licensing question is closed: you own the output, you hold the file without a logo on it, you have the permissions for the inputs, and you have satisfied the rules of wherever it is going.

Frequently asked questions

Can I sell videos made on VdoBloom?

Yes. You retain ownership of what you generate, and there is no separate commercial licence fee. Download from a paid account so the file is watermark-free, and make sure you had the rights to any photo, footage, voice or brand you fed into it.

Do I need a subscription, or is a credit pack enough?

A one-time pack is enough. Watermark-free downloading keys off the account tier, and one-time packs put you on a paid tier. The $2.49 pack buys 75 credits that never expire; subscriptions are simply cheaper per credit if you generate regularly.

Is the watermark burned into the video I generated?

No. The stored generation is clean; the logo is composited on the download stream for free accounts. Upgrading and downloading the same generation again gives you the unmarked original — you do not have to re-run and re-pay for the clip.

Are my generations private?

On a paid plan, yes, and premium accounts can delete generated videos themselves. On a free account the terms allow generations to become publicly accessible after roughly ten minutes, so free accounts are for experimenting, not for confidential work.

Who is liable if a generated video breaches someone’s rights?

You are. The terms make you solely responsible for the content you create, upload, publish or share, and you warrant that you had the necessary rights for anything you submitted. Consent for faces and licences for third-party material are the two that catch people out most.
