AI Video Has No Sound? Why, and 5 Ways to Fix It
Your AI video came out silent. Why most image-to-video models make no audio, which ones do, how to turn sound on, and how to add audio afterwards.
If your AI video has no sound, the most likely reason is that the model you picked does not make audio at all. Most image-to-video models only generate pictures. To get sound, either pick a model that generates audio in the same pass (on VdoBloom: Veo 3.1, the Seedance 2 family, or Kling 3.0 with its sound option on), or add audio afterwards: a sound effect from 1 credit, a voiceover at 8 credits per 1,000 characters, or a lip-synced talking clip. New accounts get 10 free credits, enough for a short test with sound.

Quick facts
- Silent is normal for many image-to-video models. It is not a bug in your download or player.
- Native audio models on VdoBloom include Veo 3.1 (Fast 25 credits, Quality 100 credits per 8-second clip) and Seedance 2 Mini (from 7 credits for 4 seconds at 480p).
- Kling 3.0 sound is a paid toggle: standard mode is 5.6 credits per second without sound and 8 credits per second with it.
- Add sound later: the AI Sound Effect Generator makes 1 to 10 second effects for 0.8 credits per second, and loops for 1 credit.
- Failed jobs are refunded automatically, but a clip that finished silent is a finished clip, so pick the right model before you generate.
Why is my AI video silent?
There are four common causes. Work down the list in order.
- The model makes video only. Many popular models (older Kling versions, Hailuo, Wan 2.x, Runway, most budget models) generate frames and nothing else. The MP4 has no audio track, or an empty one.
- The model can make sound, but the option was off. Some models charge extra for audio, so it is a switch. Kling 3.0 and Kling 2.6 image-to-video, for example, have a sound option that roughly doubles or raises the price. If you left it off, you get a silent clip.
- Your prompt did not describe any sound. Native-audio models write the soundtrack from your prompt. A prompt that only describes visuals ("slow push-in on a woman in a garden") often gets faint ambience at best. Ask for the sound: "birds singing, light wind, she laughs softly".
- Your phone or player is muted. Social apps and some browsers autoplay muted. Tap the speaker icon before you decide the file is silent.

How to fix a silent AI video: 5 ways
1. Regenerate on a model with native audio
Open Image to Video, keep the same photo, and switch the model to Veo 3.1 Fast or Seedance 2 Mini. Write the sound into the prompt. Native audio is the best option when you want the sound to match the action, such as a door closing at the moment it closes.
2. Turn the sound option on
If you like the look of Kling 3.0, keep it and switch its sound option on. The price shown before you generate goes up, which is how you can tell it is on.
3. Describe the sound in the prompt
Put sound in its own sentence at the end: "Sound: rain on the window, a kettle starting to whistle, no music." For speech, write the exact line in quotes and say who says it. Keep it short; one or two lines fit in an 8-second clip.
4. Add sound effects or ambience afterwards
Keep your silent clip and make the audio separately. The AI Sound Effect Generator turns a sentence like "a heavy wooden door creaks open" into an MP3. Short effects are 0.8 credits per second (a 5-second effect is 4 credits), and loops or ambience cost 1 credit for two variations. Drop the MP3 under the clip in any editor.
5. Add a voice, or make the person talk
For narration, generate a voiceover with text to speech (MiniMax Speech 2.8, 26 voices, 40 languages including Hindi and Tamil, 8 credits per 1,000 characters, about a minute of speech). If you want the person in the photo to say the words with matching lips, use a lip-sync or talking-photo tool instead of laying audio on top. If the lips drift, see how to fix out-of-sync lip sync.
Which fix should I choose?
- You need sound that matches movement (footsteps, splashes, a laugh): regenerate with native audio.
- You love the clip and only need ambience or a hit: add a sound effect afterwards. It is the cheapest fix.
- You need narration: text to speech, then mix in an editor.
- You need the person to speak on camera: lip sync or a native-audio model with the line in quotes.
How to avoid silent clips next time
- Check that the model you pick lists audio, or has a sound switch, before you generate.
- Test with a short, cheap draft first, such as a 4-second Seedance 2 Mini clip at 480p for 7 credits.
- Always include a "Sound:" line in the prompt for native-audio models.
- Unmute and listen on headphones before you judge the result.
FAQ
Why does my AI video have no sound?
Usually because the model only generates video. Many image-to-video models never make an audio track. Pick a native-audio model such as Veo 3.1 or Seedance 2, or turn on the sound option where a model has one.
Can I add sound to an AI video I already made?
Yes. Generate a sound effect, ambience loop or voiceover separately and place it under the clip in an editor such as CapCut. You do not need to regenerate the video.
Which AI video generator makes video with sound?
On VdoBloom: Veo 3.1 Fast and Quality, the Seedance 2 family, and Kling 3.0 or Kling 2.6 image-to-video with sound switched on. See our full guide to AI video with sound.
Does turning on sound cost more?
On models where sound is optional, yes. Kling 3.0 standard goes from 5.6 to 8 credits per second, and Kling 2.6 image-to-video doubles from 22 to 44 credits for 5 seconds. The price updates before you generate.
Can the AI make the person in my photo talk?
Yes. Put the line in quotes in a Veo 3.1 or Seedance 2 prompt, or use a lip-sync tool with your own recording or a text-to-speech voice.
I got a silent video. Do I get my credits back?
Failed generations are refunded automatically. A video that finished but has no sound because the model does not make audio is a completed generation, so it is not refunded. Check the model before you run it.
Can I try it free?
New accounts get 10 free credits with no card, enough for a short Seedance 2 Mini clip with sound. The daily check-in adds 2 to 5 credits a day.
