Best AI Video Extender: How to Make a Clip Longer
How AI video extension works, which tool to use and what it costs. Extend a VdoBloom clip from its real last frame, up to about 60 s, from 18 credits.
The best AI tool to extend a video is one that continues from the clip's real last frame, so the new shot starts exactly where the old one stopped. On VdoBloom, the Extend button on any finished video you made does this: it reads the last frame, generates the next 4 to 15 seconds with a model you choose, and joins the two into a new video. A 5-second extension costs from 18 credits (Seedance 2 Mini at 480p) to 60 credits on the default Seedance 2 Fast at 720p, including a 10-credit stitch fee. You can extend again until the video is about 60 seconds long. It does not extend footage uploaded from your camera.
Quick facts
- Where: the Extend button on a finished video in My Creations or Studio.
- How: the real last frame is read from the file, the next shot is generated from it, and the two are stitched with the duplicate join frame removed.
- Your original is kept. The extended version is saved as a new video linked to it.
- Added length: 4 to 15 seconds per extension on Seedance models; 3 to 15 on Wan 3.0 and Kling 3.0.
- Maximum: extend again and again until the whole video reaches about 60 seconds.
- Price: the clip price for the chosen model plus a 10-credit stitch fee, shown before you confirm. Failed extensions are refunded in full.
- Prompt help: a free "suggest" button looks at the last frame and proposes what happens next.
What are the two kinds of AI video extension?
When people say "extend a video", they mean one of two things, and they work differently.
- Model-native extension. Some video models can continue only clips they made themselves, using data saved from the first run. It is seamless when it works, but it locks you to one model and usually one platform.
- Last-frame continuation. The tool takes the final frame of a clip, uses it as the first frame of a new image-to-video generation, and joins the two. This works with any image to video model, so you can pick the model that suits the next shot. The trade-off is that the new clip only "sees" that one frame, not the motion before it, so you need a prompt that carries the action forward.
VdoBloom uses the second method, with a few safeguards: it reads the real last frame from the stored file rather than a thumbnail, drops the duplicate frame at the join, and offers a "Same Look" model that keeps faces and outfits locked to your first clip.
How much does it cost to extend a video?
Each row is a 5-second extension: the model's own clip price plus the 10-credit stitch fee.

| Seedance 2 Mini | 480p, 720p | 4 to 15 s | 18 (480p), 27 (720p) | Cheapest, quick drafts |
| Seedance 2 Fast (default) | 480p, 720p | 4 to 15 s | 34 (480p), 60 (720p) | Good default |
| Seedance 2 | 480p to 1080p | 4 to 15 s | 48 (480p), 92 (720p) | Best motion |

How do I extend a video on VdoBloom?
- Make or open a finished video. Generate a clip with any video tool, then open it in My Creations.
- Press Extend. The fast-forward button opens the Extend panel.
- Say what happens next. One sentence is enough: "she turns and walks toward the door, camera follows". Or press suggest for a free idea based on the last frame.
- Pick a model, added length and resolution. The panel shows the total: clip price plus stitch fee.
- Extend. The new, longer video appears as a separate creation. Press "Extend again" to keep going until it is about 60 seconds.
How do I keep motion continuous across the join?
Last-frame continuation is only as smooth as the hand-off. These habits make the join hard to spot:
- Continue the action, do not restart it. If the first clip ends mid-walk, the prompt should say she keeps walking, not "a woman walks".
- Repeat the camera move. If the first clip was a slow push-in, ask for "the slow push-in continues". A sudden new move reads as a cut.
- Keep the same resolution and similar model. Switching from 1080p to 480p, or between very different models, can shift colour and sharpness.
- Use Same Look for people. Wan 2.7 Same Look takes a reference next to the last frame, which helps hold the face and clothes over several extensions.
- Avoid ending on blur. A last frame with motion blur or a half-turned face gives the next shot less to work with. If needed, regenerate the first clip so it ends on a clear frame.
What are the limits?
- Only your own finished VdoBloom videos. The Extend button works on clips you generated here, not on footage uploaded from a phone or camera.
- About 60 seconds in total. Each extension adds 3 to 15 seconds until that cap.
- One frame of memory. The new shot starts from the last frame and your prompt. It does not know about objects that left the frame earlier.
- Drift adds up. Over many extensions, faces and backgrounds can slowly change. Same Look and short, clear prompts slow this down.
- Videos made from family photos stay in their own tool and cannot be extended.
Other ways to make a video longer
Extension is not always the right fix. If you want a clip to repeat smoothly, a seamless loop is cheaper and has no visible join. If you are starting from scratch and need a longer shot, some models on Image to Video generate up to 30 seconds in one go (Kling 4.0, Seedance 2.5 and Wan 3.0). To join several separate clips with cuts, use the AI video editor.
FAQ
What is the best AI tool to extend a video?
Use one that continues from the clip's real last frame and lets you pick the model for the next shot. On VdoBloom, the Extend button does this for any finished video you made, adding 4 to 15 seconds per step up to about 60 seconds, from 18 credits for a 5-second extension.
Can I extend a video I filmed on my phone?
Not with the Extend button, which works on videos generated on VdoBloom. You can take a still from your footage and animate it on Image to Video as a new shot.
Does extending replace my original video?
No. The original stays in My Creations, and the extended version is saved as a new video.
How long can an extended video be?
You can extend again and again until the full video is about 60 seconds.
