ByteDance Seedance 1.5 Pro Pricing: Real Credit Costs Per Second

Exact VdoBloom credit costs for ByteDance Seedance 1.5 Pro at 480p, 720p and 1080p, with and without audio, converted to dollars at every plan rate.

ByteDance Seedance 1.5 Pro is billed per second on VdoBloom — 0.75 credits per second at 480p, 1.5 credits per second at 720p and 3 credits per second at 1080p, with native audio doubling whichever rate you picked. That makes a standard 8-second 720p clip cost 12 credits, or about $0.60 at the Lite plan rate of $0.05 per credit. It is the cheapest way to get 1080p text-to-video and image-to-video out of the Seedance family, and the pricing is unusually easy to predict because there are no fixed duration tiers to round up to.

How Seedance 1.5 Pro is metered

Most video models on VdoBloom price in blocks — you pick 5 seconds or 10 seconds and pay a fixed amount for that block. Seedance 1.5 Pro does not work that way. The credit engine multiplies a per-second rate by the exact duration you selected, then rounds to the nearest whole credit. Three things drive the number:

  • Resolution. 480p is the base rate. 720p costs exactly twice 480p. 1080p costs exactly twice 720p.
  • Duration. Any whole number of seconds from 4 to 14. There are eleven choices and you pay only for the ones you use.
  • Audio. Native audio generation is an optional toggle. Switching it on doubles the per-second rate for the whole clip.

Aspect ratio does not change the price. All six framings — 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4 and cinema-wide 21:9 — cost the same, so a vertical 9:16 cut and a 21:9 trailer shot of the same length bill identically. Whether you generate from a text prompt or from an uploaded image (the endpoint accepts up to two reference images) also makes no difference to the price.

Dollar figures below use the Lite plan rate: $15 a month buys 300 credits, so one credit is $0.05. Every number in the credits column is what the engine actually charges.

TierRate4 s8 s12 s14 s
480p, no audio0.75 cr/s3 cr — $0.156 cr — $0.309 cr — $0.4510 cr — $0.50
720p, no audio1.5 cr/s6 cr — $0.3012 cr — $0.6018 cr — $0.9021 cr — $1.05
1080p, no audio3.0 cr/s12 cr — $0.6024 cr — $1.2036 cr — $1.8042 cr — $2.10
480p + audio1.5 cr/s6 cr — $0.3012 cr — $0.6018 cr — $0.9021 cr — $1.05
720p + audio3.0 cr/s12 cr — $0.6024 cr — $1.2036 cr — $1.8042 cr — $2.10
1080p + audio6.0 cr/s24 cr — $1.2048 cr — $2.4072 cr — $3.6084 cr — $4.20

Two patterns fall out of that table and both are worth internalising. First, audio at one resolution costs the same as silent video one tier above it: 720p with audio and 1080p without audio are both 3 credits a second. Second, every step you take up the ladder is a clean doubling, which means you can price any combination in your head.

What your plan actually pays per clip

The $0.05 per credit figure is the most expensive rate on VdoBloom, because it is the monthly Lite rate. The effective cost per clip drops as you move to annual billing or a larger plan.

How you buy creditsCost per credit8 s at 720p (12 cr)12 s at 1080p (36 cr)
Lite monthly, $15 for 300 credits$0.050$0.60$1.80
Lite annual, $10/mo for 300 credits$0.033$0.40$1.20
Pro annual, $49/mo for 2,000 credits$0.025$0.29$0.88
Starter credit pack, $2.49 for 75 credits$0.033$0.40$1.20

Pack credits never expire, which makes them the sensible top-up when a project needs one burst of 1080p renders rather than a steady monthly cadence. New accounts also start with 10 free credits and no card, and 10 credits is enough for three 4-second 480p tests plus change — more than enough to find out whether this model reads your prompt style before you pay anything. See the current plan lineup on the pricing page.

A worked budget

Say you are producing a set of vertical ads: ten 8-second 9:16 concepts, drafted cheap and finished properly. Draft all ten at 480p with no audio — 6 credits each, 60 credits, $3.00 at the Lite rate. Shortlist three, re-render them at 1080p with audio — 48 credits each, 144 credits, $7.20. Total spend: 204 credits, roughly $10.20 monthly or $6.73 on annual Lite, for three finished 1080p ads with sound and seven discarded concepts along the way.

Compare that with jumping straight to 1080p with audio on all ten: 480 credits, $24.00. The draft-then-finish pass saves more than half. Because the duration ladder is per-second, you can tighten it further — drafting at 4 seconds instead of 8 halves the draft budget again, and prompt behaviour carries over to the longer render.

Where Seedance 1.5 Pro sits against the rest of the family

The price gap between generations is not subtle. A 5-second 720p clip costs 8 credits here. The same settings on Seedance 2 cost 82 credits — more than ten times as much — because the newer flagship charges for a much heavier model and adds a 4K tier and a 15-second ceiling. Seedance 2 Mini lands at 17 credits for that same 5-second 720p clip.

Model5 s at 720pMax resolutionMax duration
Seedance 1.5 Pro8 credits — $0.401080p14 s
Seedance 2 Mini17 credits — $0.85720p15 s
Seedance 2 Fast50 credits — $2.50720p15 s
Seedance 282 credits — $4.104K15 s

So the honest positioning is this: if 1080p is your delivery ceiling — and for social, web and most ad work it is — Seedance 1.5 Pro is the value pick in the family by a wide margin. It also carries VdoBloom’s more flexible content label, where the entire Seedance 2 trio runs stricter moderation, so swimwear, dance and fitness concepts that stricter models decline tend to generate here. Explicit and illegal content stays blocked regardless of model.

Start a text prompt on the text-to-video tab, animate a still on the image-to-video tab, or borrow structure from the Seedance prompt library before you spend a credit. Paid plans export watermark-free with commercial rights, which is covered in more depth on the no-watermark generator page.

Frequently asked questions

How much does one Seedance 1.5 Pro video cost?

Between 3 credits and 84 credits depending on settings — $0.15 to $4.20 at the Lite rate. The floor is a 4-second 480p silent clip; the ceiling is a 14-second 1080p clip with native audio. The most common choice, 8 seconds at 720p without audio, is 12 credits.

Does turning on audio really double the price?

Yes. The audio toggle multiplies the per-second rate by two for the entire clip, so 8 seconds at 1080p goes from 24 credits to 48. If the clip will sit under a music bed or a voiceover you record separately, leave audio off and keep the credits.

Do longer clips get a volume discount?

No. Pricing is strictly linear before rounding — at 720p and 1080p, 14 seconds costs exactly 3.5 times what 4 seconds costs. The upside of linear pricing is that generating the exact length your edit needs never wastes credits on footage you trim away.

Is image-to-video more expensive than text-to-video?

No. Both modes bill at the same per-second rate, and supplying reference images (up to two) adds nothing to the cost. Only resolution, duration and the audio toggle move the number.

Can I see the price before I generate?

Yes. The credit cost for your exact duration, resolution and audio setting is displayed in the generation panel before you run the job, and credits are deducted only when the job is accepted. Failed generations are refunded automatically.
