Seedance 1.5 Pro vs Seedance 2: 1.5 Pro Is Retired, Here Is the Choice Now
Seedance 1.5 Pro was retired on VdoBloom in October 2026. The budget pick in the Seedance family is now Seedance 2.0 Mini; here is how it compares with Seedance 2 on specs and credits.
Seedance 1.5 Pro was retired in October 2026, so the comparison that matters now is Seedance 2.0 Mini against Seedance 2. Mini is the budget pick: 4 to 15 second clips at 480p or 720p from 7 credits. Seedance 2 is the flagship, adding 1080p and 4K at a much higher credit cost.
What happened to Seedance 1.5 Pro
ByteDance is discontinuing Seedance 1.5 Pro, and its provider stops serving it at 04:00 UTC on 21 October 2026, so VdoBloom retires the model on that date. It no longer appears in the model picker. The replacement in the same family is Seedance 2.0 Mini.

Which one should you pick?
Pick Seedance 2.0 Mini for drafts, prompt testing, high-volume social clips and anything where 720p is enough. Because Mini shares Seedance 2’s duration ladder and aspect ratios, a shot proven on Mini re-renders on the flagship without recomposing.
Pick Seedance 2 when the deliverable needs 1080p or 4K. The sensible workflow is to iterate on Mini and spend flagship credits only on the keeper: five 12-second drafts on Mini at 480p (19 credits each, 95 total) plus one 1080p render on Seedance 2 (490) is 585 credits, against 2,940 for six flagship attempts.
Both are reached from Text to Video and Image to Video. If you animate a photograph of a real person, you must have that person’s consent before you generate or publish the clip. For more detail, see Seedance 2 Mini pricing and how to use Seedance 2 Mini.
