How to Make a Save the Date Video With AI

Make a save the date video or Instagram reel from one couple photo: 6 cinematic styles, names and date on screen, 9:16, from 7 credits.

By VdoBloom Team

To make a save the date video with AI, upload one photo of the two of you to the Save the Date Video Maker, pick one of six cinematic styles, type your names, the date and a city, and generate. The AI animates you into the scene and sets "Save the Date", your names and the date on screen, held on the last frame. The default is a 4-second vertical 9:16 clip at 480p for 7 credits, made in about 2 to 3 minutes; you can go up to 15 seconds. The clip has no sound, so add music when you post. New accounts get 10 free credits, so the first teaser is free.

Quick steps

  1. Open the Save the Date Video Maker in your browser.
  2. Upload one sharp photo of the couple, faces clearly visible.
  3. Choose a style: Cinematic Hollywood, Pre-Wedding Shoot, Engagement Ring Reveal, Destination Wedding Tease, Movie Trailer Style or Classic Romance.
  4. Type your names, the date and a short location such as "Goa, India".
  5. Keep 9:16 for Instagram and WhatsApp, check the credit cost, and generate.
  6. Download the MP4, add a song in Instagram or an editor, and post.

Quick facts

  • Input: one couple photo plus names, date and location. No prompt to write.
  • Output: a short cinematic clip with your text typeset on top. The AI draws no lettering itself, so names never come out garbled.
  • Default: Seedance 2 Mini, 4 seconds, 480p, 9:16, 7 credits.
  • Longer or sharper: up to 15 seconds, or up to 30 on Seedance 2.5, and 720p or higher; the price shows first.
  • Names can be in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada and other scripts.
  • Silent clip. Free-account downloads carry a watermark; any paid credit pack removes it.
  • Pay per video, no subscription. One-time pack credits never expire.

What you need

  • A couple photo. An engagement photo, a pre-wedding shoot frame or any clear portrait of the two of you. Both faces should be visible, sharp and evenly lit. For Engagement Ring Reveal, use a photo where the ring hand shows.
  • Your names. Up to 40 characters each. They are set in a script font joined with an ampersand.
  • The date. Up to 60 characters, for example "14th December 2026" or "14.12.2026".
  • A location. Up to 90 characters. Keep it teaser-short: a city or a country. Save the venue for the invitation.

Only use photos of the two of you, with your partner's agreement.

Which style fits your wedding?

StyleWhat it looks likeGood for
Cinematic HollywoodDramatic slow motion, lens flare, rich film colourA "lead roles in a romance film" feel
Pre-Wedding ShootOutdoor golden hour, warm backlight, candid slow motionCouples who had, or skipped, a pre-wedding shoot
Engagement Ring RevealHands and the ring against warm bokehPosting right after the engagement
Destination Wedding TeaseTropical beach, hilltop resort, villa or vineyard at sunsetWeddings where guests must book travel
Movie Trailer StyleWidescreen feel, deep grade, opening-scene pacingA fun version for friends
Classic RomanceFormal attire, marble staircase or candlelit hallAn elegant version for family and elders

Styles for Indian, rustic, beach and luxury weddings

  • Indian wedding: Movie Trailer Style gives Bollywood opening-scene pacing; Classic Romance suits a formal family send. Type names in Devanagari, Tamil or another script and they are set in a matching font. For the full invitation with a Royal / Mughal or South Indian Temple scene, use the Wedding Invitation Video Maker later.
  • Rustic: Pre-Wedding Shoot, with its outdoor golden-hour light, fits barns, farms and garden venues.
  • Beach or destination: Destination Wedding Tease; put the country in the location line so guests can plan.
  • Luxury: Cinematic Hollywood or Classic Romance for marble, candlelight and film-grade colour.

Not sure? The default costs 7 credits, so make two or three styles and send the favourite. More ideas are in AI wedding video ideas.

How do I make a save the date reel for Instagram?

  1. Keep 9:16. The tool's default vertical shape fills the Reels screen, and the text block sits clear of the on-screen buttons. See the best aspect ratio for Instagram Reels.
  2. Choose a length of 7 to 15 seconds. A 4-second clip works for Stories and WhatsApp Status. For a Reel, raise the length so the scene has time to breathe before the text appears. On Seedance 2 Mini, 8 seconds costs 13 credits at 480p or 27 at 720p; 10 seconds costs 16 or 33.
  3. Use 720p for the final. Test styles at 480p, then remake the winner at 720p.
  4. Add music. The clip is silent. Pick a song in Instagram's music library when you post, or make an original track with the AI Music Generator (6 to 12 credits) and add it in an editor.
  5. Pick the cover frame. Choose the final frame, where your names and date are on screen, so the grid shows the announcement.
  6. Write a short caption. The date, the city and a line such as "Save the date. Details to follow." Add your wedding hashtag.

Caption ideas

  • "We said yes. Now save the date: 14.12.2026, Goa."
  • "Mark your calendars. Invitation to follow."
  • "Two families, one date. See you in Udaipur."
  • "Pack your bags: we are getting married in Italy next June."

Adding text and the date

You do not edit text inside the video. The tool typesets "Save the Date", your names, the date and the location onto the finished clip exactly as you typed them. The text fades in line by line a little after the middle of the clip, over a soft dark band, and the last frame holds for 1.5 seconds so people can read it. Empty fields are left out. Check spelling before you generate, because changing a name means making the clip again.

What does it cost?

Setting (Seedance 2 Mini)480p720p
4 seconds (default)7 credits14 credits
8 seconds13 credits27 credits
10 seconds16 credits33 credits
15 seconds24 credits50 credits

Your names and date are added at no extra cost. Other models in the picker cost more, and the exact price shows before you generate. A failed generation is refunded automatically. Credit packs are on the pricing page; one-time credits never expire, so what is left can go to the full invitation video later.

Timing: when to send it

Save-the-dates usually go out 6 to 12 months before the wedding, earlier for destination weddings and peak-season dates. Because a teaser takes minutes, you can send it the week you lock the date, then follow with the formal invitation a few months before the day.
