Seedance 1.5 Pro was retired on VdoBloom in October 2026. This guide shows how to get the same kind of budget Seedance clip with Seedance 2.0 Mini: settings, credit costs and a worked 9:16 example.
Seedance 1.5 Pro was retired in October 2026 and is no longer in the VdoBloom model picker. To make the same kind of low-cost Seedance clip, use Seedance 2.0 Mini: pick it on the Text to Video or Image to Video tab, choose a length from 4 to 15 seconds and 480p or 720p, and generate. A 4-second 480p clip costs 7 credits.
What happened to Seedance 1.5 Pro
ByteDance is discontinuing Seedance 1.5 Pro, and its provider stops serving it at 04:00 UTC on 21 October 2026, so VdoBloom retires the model on that date. It no longer appears in the model picker. The replacement in the same family is Seedance 2.0 Mini.
Seedance 2.0 Mini settings and costs
Mini supports text-to-video and image-to-video. Durations are every whole second from 4 to 15. Resolutions are 480p and 720p. Aspect ratios are 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4 and 21:9. Audio is generated by default with no surcharge. Dollar figures use the Lite plan rate of $15 for 300 credits ($0.05 a credit).

A worked example
Say you need a 9:16 clip of a model walking along a rooftop at sunset for a Reels feed, about 7 seconds long.
- Open the text-to-video tab and pick Seedance 2 Mini from the Seedance family in the model picker.
- Set aspect ratio to 9:16, resolution to 480p and duration to 7 seconds. The cost preview reads 11 credits.
- Prompt: a woman in a flowing linen dress walks slowly toward the camera along a rooftop terrace at golden hour, warm backlight rimming her hair, city skyline soft behind her, camera dollies back at walking pace, handheld feel.
- Generate twice at 480p, 22 credits total, and compare which take reads better.
- Re-run the winning prompt unchanged at 720p, 7 seconds, still 9:16. That render costs 23 credits, about $1.15.
Total spend for two drafts and one finished 720p vertical clip with sound: 45 credits, about $2.25. If you need 1080p or 4K, re-render the same prompt on Seedance 2, which shares Mini’s durations and aspect ratios.
Prompting tips that carry over
- Name the camera move. Slow dolly in, handheld follow, static locked-off, orbit left.
- Describe one action, not three. Generate the next beat as a separate clip.
- Set the light. Golden hour backlight, soft overcast or neon practicals.
- Match the ratio to the destination before you generate. 9:16 for Reels and Shorts, 16:9 for YouTube, 21:9 for a film look.
