By VdoBloom Team

Short answer: to make a Christmas video with your face, upload one clear, front-facing photo to the AI Christmas video maker and pick one of 34 one-photo templates (30 Christmas scenes and 4 New Year scenes). The tool first places you into the scene, keeping your own face, then animates a 5 or 10 second clip. It costs from 10 credits (Runway Gen-3, 5 s, 720p), or 40 credits on Kling 2.5 Turbo, which stays closest to your photo. Eight more templates combine 2 or 3 separate photos. New accounts get 10 free credits.

This page is about one question: how do you get your face, not a lookalike, into a Christmas video in 2026? It lists every one-photo template, explains how face matching works, and gives photo tips that make the biggest difference. For adding a song, see AI Christmas video maker with music.

Quick facts

  • Templates: 42 in total. 34 need one photo (one or more people in it). 4 combine 2 photos, 4 combine 3 photos.
  • Length: 5 or 10 seconds per clip.
  • Shapes: 9:16, 3:4, 1:1, 4:3, 16:9.
  • Models and cost: Runway Gen-3 from 10 credits (lowest cost). Kling 2.5 Turbo 40 credits for 5 s ("stays closest to your photo").
  • Scene step is free: if the tool cannot place your photo into the scene, no credits are used.
  • No sound: clips are silent; add music separately.
  • Consent: use your own photo, or photos of people who agreed. No celebrities.

How does it keep my face?

Most failed "face" Christmas videos go wrong because the video model is asked to do everything at once: invent a scene, add costumes, relight, and animate. Faces drift. VdoBloom splits the job in two:

  1. Scene first. An image model (WAN 2.7) takes the people from your photo and places them into the template's setting, with an identity lock that tells it to keep each face as it is. Your original background is replaced completely.
  2. Motion second. The video model only gets a short motion instruction, such as "they hang the ornament, step back and smile at the camera", plus the same identity lock. It does not re-light or re-frame the scene.

Prompts avoid dramatic lighting words on purpose, because those make models change faces. Santa, the sleigh driver and other extra characters are generated people, never copies of anyone in your photo.

The tool shows each template with a preview still (made from a stock couple, never a user photo).

What if the people are in separate photos?

Use a 2 or 3 photo template. Each person is uploaded separately and the tool fuses them into one scene: person one on the left, person two on the right (or in the middle for three).

  • 2 photos: Christmas Hug, Mistletoe Moment, Christmas Dance, Christmas Lights Couple (2 photos).
  • 3 photos: Friends' Christmas Toast, Friends' Group Hug, Friends' Carols, Friends' Elf Dance.

This suits long-distance couples, or friends who never got the group photo. For a still family picture made from separate photos, see AI Christmas family photo from separate photos.

Step by step: Christmas video with your face

  1. Open the AI Christmas video maker.
  2. Pick a template. Check how many photos it asks for.
  3. Upload your photo. Small photos are scaled up to the minimum size automatically.
  4. Pick the model: Runway Gen-3 to save credits, Kling 2.5 Turbo if face likeness matters most.
  5. Pick 5 or 10 seconds and the shape (9:16 for phones).
  6. Generate. If the clip fails to start, the credits are refunded.

A good habit: test the template on Runway Gen-3 first, then render the final on Kling 2.5 Turbo.

My face looks wrong: common causes and fixes

  1. "It doesn't look like me." Usually a small, dark or side-on photo. Use a sharp front-facing photo and switch to Kling 2.5 Turbo, which stays closest to your photo.
  2. "A person is missing from the group." People at the edge or partly hidden can be dropped. Crop so everyone is fully in frame, or use a 2 or 3 photo template with one photo per person.
  3. "Two faces merged." Happens with very small faces in a crowded photo. Upload separate photos on a multi-photo template.
  4. "The scene step failed." No credits were used. Try a clearer, front-facing photo.
  5. "My mouth moves but there's no voice." The clips have no audio; this is expected. Add music or a voice in an editor.

FAQ

Can I make a Christmas video with my own face?

Yes. Upload one clear photo, pick a template, and the tool places you into the scene before animating it.

How many templates use just one photo?

34: 30 Christmas scenes and 4 New Year scenes. Eight more use 2 or 3 separate photos.

Will it look like me?

The scene step uses an identity lock, and Kling 2.5 Turbo is the model that stays closest to your photo. A sharp, front-facing photo in even light gives the best likeness. Results can still vary between runs.

Can I put my whole family in one video?

Yes. Use a family photo on any one-photo template, or upload up to 3 separate photos on the 3-photo templates.

Can I add my face next to Santa?

Yes: Video with Santa, Santa Message and Kids Meet Santa. Santa is a generated person, not anyone from your photo.

How much does it cost?

From 10 credits for 5 seconds at 720p on Runway Gen-3. The 10 free signup credits cover one.

Does the video have sound?

No. Add a song afterwards; see the music guide linked above.

Can I use a celebrity's face?

No. Use your own photo or photos of people who agreed to it.
