Reve Shut Down? Best Alternatives and How to Move Your Prompts

A practical migration checklist for Reve users: copy prompts, download images and references before 31 October, then rebuild the look on another generator.

By VdoBloom Team

As reported by secondary sources, Reve closed its API on 14 August 2026 and ended image creation on 27 September 2026, with 31 October 2026 named as the last day to log in and download generated work. That is a migration window, not a product you can keep using. Copy every prompt you still need, download every image and reference file, and rebuild the look somewhere you can keep working — the first replacement image can cost as little as 3 credits.

Updated October 2026.

What was reported and the dates that matter

VdoBloom cannot verify a vendor’s timetable, so treat all of this as reported information and confirm it on reve.com before you plan around it. The reported sequence is three dates: the API closed on 14 August 2026, image creation ended on 27 September 2026, and 31 October 2026 is the last day to log in and download generated work.

The detail that matters most for a migration is what was reported about exports. Prompts and reference images are not exported as files. Users have to copy prompts and download references themselves. If that is right, there is no export button to lean on and no archive you can request later, so the copying and downloading is your job and it has a deadline.

This post is a planning checklist for that window. It does not describe an import path from Reve into VdoBloom, because none exists, and it does not claim compatibility with any Reve file format.

Before 31 October: copy your prompts and download your images and reference images

Do this in one sitting, while the account still opens. Work from a list of the jobs you would actually want back, not the whole library.

  1. List the keepers. Open your history and mark the twenty or thirty images you would pay to reproduce. Those, not the thousand experiments, are what the new account has to replace.
  2. Copy each prompt into a document. Paste the exact words, including any negative instructions and style phrases. Prompt text is short, so a plain spreadsheet with one row per job is enough.
  3. Record the settings next to the prompt. Aspect ratio, seed if it is shown, steps, guidance, model name and any reference strength. A prompt without its settings is only half a promise.
  4. Download the final image at the largest size offered. Save it with the same name as the prompt row so the two stay paired.
  5. Download every reference image separately. The finished image is not a substitute for the reference that shaped it; an edit model needs the original file, at full quality, without text or borders added.
  6. Write a one-paragraph style note. Describe the look in words: medium, palette, contrast, light direction, texture and the level of finish. This note carries the style when the settings do not.

If a download fails, do not assume it can be retried later. The reported deadline is absolute, and the same report says the account closes at the end of it.

Rebuild a look: use your downloaded images as references in an edit model

A downloaded image is more than a record. It is the best style reference you have, and an image-to-image model can work from it directly. The method is to feed two to four keepers into an edit model alongside a written instruction, then correct one variable at a time.

Start with the closest keeper and a short instruction such as “same palette, same soft window light, same grain; change the subject to a ceramic mug on a wooden desk”. Judge the result on the four things that carry a style: colour, light, texture and edge quality. If the palette drifts, name the colours in words. If the light drifts, describe the direction and softness. Do not rewrite the whole prompt between attempts, because then you cannot tell which phrase moved the result.

For a recurring character or product, the reference set matters more than the prompt. Our guide to keeping a character consistent across images covers how to build and reuse one. The editing workspace is at image editing, and the generator is at image generation.

Which VdoBloom image models cover text in images, editing and style work

The right replacement depends on the job that Reve was doing for you. These are the four current models to compare first, with the exact credit prices from the platform’s pricing table.

ModelBest forCredits per image
GPT Image 2Text inside the image, literal layouts3 at 1K, 5 at 2K, 8 at 4K
Seedream 5.0 ProLayout, structured design, up to 10 references10 Standard, 19 High
FLUX Kontext ProTargeted edits that keep the rest of the frame7 per edit
Nano Banana 2Compositing from many references15 flat, up to 4K

For text that must read correctly, GPT Image 2 is the usual starting point: it follows counts, positions and on-image words closely, and its 1K draft costs 3 credits. For a designed layout, Seedream 5.0 Pro handles both generation and reference-guided editing on one page at 10 credits Standard. For a style-preserving change to an existing picture, FLUX Kontext Pro at 7 credits is the cheaper edit. For a scene built from a character, an outfit and a setting, Nano Banana 2 accepts up to 14 reference images for a flat 15 credits at any resolution up to 4K.

The wider field, including each model’s aspect ratios and content rules, is compared in the best AI image models of 2026.

What you will not get back (layouts, templates, saved settings) and workarounds

  • Saved layouts and templates. A template is a set of parameters inside one product. It does not travel, and no competitor reads it. Rebuild the template as a written recipe: prompt, ratio, settings and reference set.
  • Saved presets and stored settings. These will not transfer either. The style note and the spreadsheet row are your replacement.
  • Your prompt history in order. If you did not copy it, it is not in the downloaded image. Reconstruct the prompts for the keepers first, then let the rest go.
  • Exact reproducibility. A new model will not reproduce an old render pixel for pixel. Aim for the same look, not the same file.
  • Reference strength values. Names and scales differ between products. Treat the old value as a starting point only and adjust by eye in the new tool.

The workaround for all five is the same artefact: a one-page style sheet per project, holding the written look, two or three reference images and the winning settings. That sheet is portable; a saved template is not.

Credits that never expire, so no subscription clock

A migration is a bad moment to commit to a monthly plan, because you do not yet know how many attempts the new look will take. VdoBloom sells one-time credit packs that never expire, and no subscription is needed to generate. The Lite pack is 300 credits for $19.50 one time, which is enough for a hundred 1K drafts at 3 credits each or fifteen Nano Banana 2 images at 15. Every price is shown before a generation runs, and a failed generation is refunded. The current options are on the pricing page, and the free-start route is covered in the free text-to-image guide.

Frequently asked questions

Can I import my Reve files into VdoBloom?

No. There is no import path or file compatibility. The migration is manual: copy prompts and settings, download images, then rebuild the look with references and written instructions.

What exactly should I download before 31 October?

Every keeper at full size, plus every reference image you uploaded, saved under names that match your prompt spreadsheet. As reported, prompts and references are not exported as files for you.

Which model should I try first for style work?

Start with FLUX Kontext Pro at 7 credits for an edit that preserves an existing frame, or GPT Image 2 at 3 credits for a new 1K image from text. Move to Seedream 5.0 Pro at 10 credits when the job is layout-led.

Do VdoBloom credits expire?

No. One-time packs keep their balance, and there is no subscription requirement. The Lite pack is 300 credits for $19.50 one time.

Where do I confirm the shutdown dates?

On reve.com. This post repeats what was reported by secondary sources; the vendor’s own page is the authority.

Start with the image generator and the image editor, and keep the downloaded keepers in the reference slot while you rebuild. New accounts start with 10 free credits and no card, so you can reproduce one keeper and compare it before buying anything.
