Credits Deducted but No AI Video? What to Do
AI video failed or never appeared but the credits are gone? How to check, how long refunds take, what to send support, and what VdoBloom does.
If credits left your balance and no video appeared, do not generate again yet. First check your history: the job is usually still running, already finished, or already refunded. On VdoBloom a failed job is refunded automatically to the credit pool it came from, a job stuck for more than an hour is checked every 30 minutes and either delivered or refunded, and requests blocked before they start are never charged. On other platforms, check the generation history and the credit log, wait a reasonable time, then contact support with the job details listed below.

Quick facts
- Most common cause: the job is still processing or finished while the page stopped waiting. Check your history before anything else.
- Biggest mistake: pressing Generate again. A second submission is a second paid job.
- VdoBloom failed job: refunded automatically, once, back to the pool it came from (pack credits to pack, subscription credits to subscription).
- VdoBloom stuck job: a background check runs every 30 minutes on jobs older than one hour and delivers the video or refunds it.
- VdoBloom blocked request: not enough credits, a blocked prompt or an invalid setting is refused before any charge.
- Where to check on VdoBloom: My Creations for the video, Settings > Credits for every charge and refund.
Why were my credits taken when no video was made?
Nearly every AI video platform takes credits when the job is accepted, not when it finishes. The credits reserve the compute on the model provider. That means there is always a window where your balance has dropped but no video exists yet. What you see as "credits taken, no video" is one of five situations:
- The job is still running. Busy queues, 1080p and long clips can take many minutes. Progress bars are usually time estimates, so a bar at 99% says little.
- The job finished but the page did not update. A dropped connection or closed tab means the result never reached your screen. It is in your history.
- The job failed and the refund is on its way. Many systems refund within minutes; some settle failures in a periodic batch.
- The provider lost the job. The platform has to notice, then fail and refund it. This is the slow case.
- The video completed but was blocked or removed. A safety check on the finished frames can reject an output after the compute was spent. Policies differ on whether that is refunded.
What to do, step by step (any platform)
- Do not resubmit. Wait until you know what happened to the first job.
- Open your generation history (often called Creations, Assets, Projects or My Works). Refresh it. Look for the job's status: processing, completed, failed.
- Open the credit or billing log. Find the deduction for that time. If a matching refund line is already there, you are done.
- Wait. Give a processing job at least an hour before treating it as lost, longer at busy times.
- Check your email. Some platforms email you when a generation fails and say whether credits were returned.
- Contact support if nothing changes. Send the details in the next section.
- Read the refund policy before you buy more. Look in the help center or terms for what they do with failed jobs, stuck jobs, cancelled jobs and outputs blocked after generation. If it is not written down, ask before you spend.
What to send support
| Include | Why it helps |
|---|---|
| Account email | Finds your account without back-and-forth |
| Date and time of the attempt, with time zone | Matches the deduction in their logs |
| Model, resolution and duration | Confirms the exact credit amount |
| Job or task ID if the history shows one | Lets them query the provider directly |
| Screenshot of the status or error | Shows it is failed or stuck, not still running |
| Screenshot of the credit log line | Proves the deduction and that no refund followed |
Keep it short and factual: "Job X at 14:05 UTC, Model Y, 720p 5s, status failed, 82 credits deducted, no refund after 24 hours." Support teams resolve that kind of ticket fastest.
What VdoBloom does automatically
Blocked before it starts: never charged
The cost is shown before you generate. If you do not have enough credits, the pricing panel opens and nothing is deducted; if the request still reaches the server it is refused with "Insufficient credits". A prompt stopped by our content check, or a duration, resolution or input combination the model does not accept, is also refused before any charge.
Failed during generation: refunded once, automatically
Once a job is accepted, credits are deducted and the job goes to the model. If the model or our pipeline reports a failure, the job is marked Failed in My Creations, the credits are refunded, and you get an email saying so. The refund is claimed once per video, so two overlapping checks can never pay twice and none can skip you. Credits go back where they came from: one-time pack credits to your pack, subscription credits to your monthly allowance.
One-click effect templates get one extra attempt: if the chosen model fails, the job is retried on a backup model (Hailuo 02) before giving up, and refunded in full if that also fails. That is why an effect video can come back with a different model label.
Stuck on processing: checked every 30 minutes
A recovery service runs every 30 minutes and looks at any job that has been pending or processing for more than an hour. It asks the provider what happened:
- Finished at the provider: the video is saved to My Creations.
- Failed or lost at the provider: marked Failed and refunded.
- Never sent because the server restarted: marked "Generation never started" and refunded.
- Still working: left alone and checked again. A job whose status checks keep failing is closed and refunded after a few hours rather than left hanging.
"Network error" or "timed out" right after pressing Generate
If the connection drops while you submit, the page cannot know whether the job was accepted. VdoBloom treats that as "probably running" and sends you to My Creations instead of showing a failure. Look there before you try again. Identical requests sent within about 10 seconds are ignored on many tools to catch double-clicks, but anything later is a new paid job.
Where to check
- My Creations: every job with its status (processing, completed, failed).
- Settings > Credits: the credit history, with each charge and each refund.
Credits are back but I still have no video. Now what?
A refund means the job is closed. Before you retry, fix whatever made it fail, or you will pay for the same failure twice:
- Read the error text. A content message means a phrase or image needs changing; resending the same prompt gets the same answer.
- Check the input photo. One clear subject, sharp, well lit, close to the output aspect ratio.
- Test cheap. A 4-second 480p Seedance 2 Mini image-to-video draft costs 4 credits; a 5-second 480p Wan 3.0 clip costs 16. Prove the prompt, then render the final.
- Switch model if one provider is having a bad day. On VdoBloom the same prompt can move to Kling, Seedance, Wan, Hailuo or Veo in the same place.
Model-specific fixes are in AI video stuck or failed: fixes for Kling, Veo, Seedance and Hailuo. Every VdoBloom error message and its fix is in why your VdoBloom AI video generation failed.
How to avoid losing credits in the first place
- Check the price shown for your exact resolution and duration. A 5-second Seedance 2 clip is 38 credits at 480p, 82 at 720p and 204 at 1080p.
- Press Generate once. If the page freezes, go to your history, not the button.
- Do a low-resolution test before a high-resolution final.
- Keep a tab with your credit log open during big batches so you notice a stuck job early.
- Prefer credits that do not expire. One-time VdoBloom pack credits never expire, so a refund is never lost to a month rolling over.
New accounts get 10 free credits, and the daily check-in adds 2 to 5 credits a day. One-time packs start at $10.39 for 200 credits; see pricing.
Frequently asked questions
Credits deducted but video failed. Will I get them back?
On VdoBloom, yes: failed jobs are refunded automatically, and you get an email when it happens. On other platforms, most state that failed generations are refunded, but the rules on stuck, cancelled and post-generation blocked jobs vary. Check their help center or terms, then contact support with the job details.
How long does a refund take for a failed AI video?
On VdoBloom, a job that fails during generation is refunded as soon as the failure is reported. A job stuck at the provider is picked up by the 30-minute check once it is an hour old. Elsewhere it ranges from minutes to a day; if nothing changes after 24 hours, open a ticket.
My video is stuck at 99%. Should I generate it again?
No. The percentage is usually an estimate. Generating again starts a second paid job. Check your history and wait for the first one to finish or be refunded.
The page said "timed out". Did I lose my credits?
Not necessarily. "Timed out" usually means the page stopped waiting, not that the job died. On VdoBloom the job keeps running and appears in My Creations as completed or failed, and failures are refunded.
Do I get credits back if I don't like the result?
Usually not, on any platform. Credits pay for compute, so a video that finishes but looks wrong is not a failure. That is why cheap test renders matter.
Where can I see my credit history on VdoBloom?
Settings > Credits lists every charge and refund. My Creations shows each job's status.
