AI Video Stuck or Failed? Fixes for Kling, Veo, Seedance

Kling, Veo, Seedance or Hailuo video stuck generating, at 99%, or failed? The common causes, model-by-model fixes, and what happens to your credits.

By VdoBloom Team

An AI video that is stuck generating is usually queued at a busy provider, rendering a long or high-resolution clip, or lost by the provider. A video that fails is usually a safety filter on the prompt, photo or finished frames, a setting the model does not accept, or a provider error. The fix: wait instead of resubmitting, check your history, then change the one thing that caused it: the photo, one phrase in the prompt, the resolution, or the model. On VdoBloom, Kling, Veo, Seedance and Hailuo all run from the same page, failed jobs are refunded automatically, and jobs stuck over an hour are checked every 30 minutes.

Quick facts

  • Stuck at 99%: progress bars are usually time estimates. The job may still finish.
  • Do not resubmit a stuck job. It starts a second paid job.
  • Same prompt fails every time: a filter is rejecting a phrase or the photo. Rewording beats retrying.
  • Everything fails at once: the provider is overloaded. Switch model family.
  • On VdoBloom: blocked requests are not charged, failed jobs are refunded, stuck jobs are delivered or refunded by a 30-minute check.

The general fix sequence (works for every model)

  1. Refresh your history, not the generator. A finished video often sits in the history while the page still spins.
  2. Give it time. Treat a job as lost only after an hour.
  3. Read the error text. It almost always names the category: content, parameter, credits, or provider.
  4. Change one thing. Swap the photo, rewrite one phrase, drop one resolution step, or shorten the clip.
  5. Test small. A 480p, 4 to 5 second draft finds prompt and photo problems cheaply.
  6. Switch model if a provider is down. The same prompt usually works on another family.

Kling: stuck generating or failed

Why it sticks: heavy demand, long durations, 1080p or 4K output, and jobs with many references take longest. Why it fails: photos of real people that look like public figures, wording the content filter reads as sexual or violent, and reference setups the model can't follow.

  • Cut the clip to 5 seconds and 720p for the test. On VdoBloom, Kling 3.0 Omni is 40 credits at 720p for 5 seconds versus 54 at 1080p and 134 at 4K.
  • Use fewer references. One clean photo of the subject beats several conflicting ones.
  • Write one subject, one action and one camera move. Long multi-action prompts fail and drift more often.
  • In image-to-video, the output follows your photo's shape, so crop the photo to the ratio you want before upload.

Veo 3.1: error generating video

Why it fails: Veo's filters are strict about photorealistic people in uploaded images, and about prompts involving real people, minors or violence. Refused face uploads are one of the most reported Veo image-to-video errors. Why it sticks: Quality mode takes much longer than Fast.

  • Test on Veo 3.1 Fast first (25 credits per clip on VdoBloom), then render on Quality (100 credits) once the prompt works.
  • If a face photo is refused, try text-to-video with a described character, or move the photo to a model that accepts people, such as Kling or Seedance.
  • Separate subject motion from camera motion in the prompt. Contradicting instructions ("static shot, sweeping drone move") produce errors and odd results.

Seedance 2 and 2.5: sensitive content error or failed

Why it fails: the Seedance provider runs its own check on prompts, input images and outputs. Bodies, real faces and anything that reads as sexual trip it, sometimes on harmless wording. Durations outside the model's range (4 to 15 seconds on Seedance 2) are rejected.

  • Describe what the person is wearing and doing in plain lifestyle language. Remove the single word most likely to be misread; the rest of the prompt is usually fine.
  • Use one input mode per job: first and last frames, or reference images, not both.
  • Price climbs with resolution: a 5-second Seedance 2 clip is 38 credits at 480p, 82 at 720p and 204 at 1080p. Test at 480p.
  • For cheap drafts, Seedance 2 Mini image-to-video is 4 credits for 4 seconds at 480p.

Hailuo: stuck processing

Why it sticks: queue delays at busy times. Why it fails: unsupported duration and resolution pairs, and photos the model can't read (tiny faces, screenshots, heavy blur).

  • Use the durations the model offers. On VdoBloom, Hailuo 2.3 Pro image-to-video is 18 credits for 6 seconds at 768p, 45 for 10 seconds at 768p, and 32 for 6 seconds at 1080p. 1080p is 6 seconds only.
  • Start from a sharp photo where the subject fills much of the frame.
  • If the queue is long, the same image and prompt can run on Kling or Seedance meanwhile. Do not submit the Hailuo job twice.

What happens to your credits when it's stuck or fails

On VdoBloom:

  • Blocked before it starts (not enough credits, blocked prompt, invalid setting): never charged.
  • Failed during generation: marked Failed in My Creations, refunded automatically to the pool it came from, and you get an email.
  • Effect templates: retried once on a backup model (Hailuo 02) before refunding.
  • Stuck: every 30 minutes a check looks at jobs older than an hour, saves the video if it finished, or fails and refunds it if the provider lost it.

The full refund walkthrough is in credits deducted but no AI video: what to do. On other platforms, look in the help center for their failed-generation policy before buying more credits.

Prevent the next failure

  1. Use a clean photo: one subject, sharp, well lit, close to the output aspect ratio.
  2. Keep prompts to one subject, one action, one camera move.
  3. Pick durations and resolutions from the model's own list.
  4. Draft at 480p or 720p; render 1080p once.
  5. Keep the image-to-video and text-to-video pages open on two models so you can switch when one queue is slow.

If the video finishes but looks wrong, see AI video not following your prompt or flickering and morphing fixes.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my Kling video stuck generating?

Usually a busy queue combined with a long, high-resolution or reference-heavy job. Wait, check your history, and test the same idea at 5 seconds and 720p. Don't resubmit while the first job is still running.

Why is my Hailuo video stuck processing?

Queue delay is the most common reason. If it is past an hour, the platform should close it as failed. On VdoBloom that happens on the 30-minute recovery check, with an automatic refund.

What does "error generating video" mean on Veo 3.1?

Most often a refused input, typically a photorealistic face upload, or a prompt the filter rejected. Try Fast mode with text only, or move the photo to Kling or Seedance.

How do I fix the Seedance 2 sensitive content error?

Find the word or image the filter is reacting to and replace it with neutral, specific wording about clothing and action. Resending the identical prompt rarely changes the result.

Why is my AI video stuck at 99%?

The bar is usually an estimate. The job may be finishing, queued, or lost. Refresh your history; if nothing changes after an hour, it is lost and should be refunded.

Do I lose credits if an AI video fails?

On VdoBloom, no: failed jobs are refunded automatically and blocked requests are never charged. A video that completes but looks wrong is not refunded on most platforms.
