How to Use Kling V2.5 Turbo: 5s for 40 Credits, 10s for 80

A practical guide to Kling V2.5 Turbo on VdoBloom: image-to-video only, two durations, exact credit costs, CFG and negative-prompt settings, and when Kling V3 Turbo is the cheaper pick.

Kling V2.5 Turbo on VdoBloom is an image-to-video model with exactly two settings: 5 seconds for 40 credits ($2.00) or 10 seconds for 80 credits ($4.00). There is no resolution picker, no quality tier and no aspect-ratio control — the output inherits the shape of the photo you feed it. That sounds limiting, and it is the reason the model is fast and consistent: there is almost nothing to get wrong. This guide covers what it does well, the exact limits it enforces, how to prompt it, and when one of the newer Kling models is the better spend.

What Kling V2.5 Turbo is best at

V2.5 Turbo animates a still photograph. It cannot start from text — it is registered on VdoBloom as image-to-video only, so a prompt with no photo attached will not run. What it is unusually good at is believable human motion from a single frame: weight shifting, hair moving, fabric settling, a head turning without the face falling apart. The Studio agent’s internal model guide describes it in exactly those terms, as fluid, natural motion from a photo, and defaults it to 5 seconds when it picks the model automatically.

Practically, it is the right model when:

  • You have one good photo and you want it to move, not to become a different scene.
  • Identity has to survive — a client’s face, a model’s face, your own.
  • You want a clean 10-second clip without stitching two 5-second ones together.
  • You are working on one of the effect tabs, where V2.5 Turbo runs natively rather than being re-dispatched through a generic pipeline.

That last point matters more than it sounds. VdoBloom’s effects endpoint accepts a short list of models directly, and Kling V2.5 Turbo is on it. Pick it on the bikini effect tab, fashion walk or jiggle and the effect prompt goes straight to Kling rather than through a translation layer.

If you are animating a photo of a real person, you must have that person’s consent before you generate the video.

The real specs

SettingWhat Kling V2.5 Turbo supports
DirectionImage to video only (no text-to-video)
Durations5 s or 10 s — nothing in between
Quality tiersNone. One quality level
Aspect ratioNot selectable; inherited from the source photo
Prompt lengthUp to 2500 characters
Negative promptUp to 2496 characters; defaults to blur, distort, and low quality
Prompt adherenceCFG scale 0 to 1, default 0.5
Source imageJPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 10 MB
Content filterSTRICT (the Kling family tier)
Family rating4.4 / 5

The STRICT label is the honest headline here. The Kling family sits at the tightest end of VdoBloom’s content-filter scale, alongside Runway and Veo. Swimwear, dance and fitness content that the flexible tier handles without complaint will often bounce on Kling. That is a provider decision, not ours, and it is why the effect tabs let you swap models.

Exact credit cost

One credit is $0.05 at the Lite rate of $15 for 300 credits. Kling V2.5 Turbo is billed purely by duration.

DurationCreditsDollar costCost per secondClips per 300-credit Lite month
5 seconds40$2.00$0.407
10 seconds80$4.00$0.403

The per-second rate is identical at both lengths, so there is no volume discount for going long and no penalty for going short. Generate at 5 seconds while you are iterating on a prompt and only spend 80 credits once the motion is right. Annual billing brings Lite to $10 a month, and one-time credit packs start at $2.49 for 75 credits that never expire — the full ladder is on the pricing page.

How to prompt Kling V2.5 Turbo

The photo does most of the work. The prompt is a motion brief, not a scene description, and the most common mistake is writing a text-to-video prompt for a model that already has the scene in front of it.

  1. Describe motion and camera only. She turns her head slowly toward camera as the wind lifts her hair; the camera pushes in gently. Do not re-describe her outfit or the background — the model can see them.
  2. Anchor identity in one clause. Preserve facial features, body proportions and lighting exactly as in the source image. This is the single highest-value sentence in the prompt.
  3. Use the negative prompt. The default is blur, distort, and low quality. Add the specific failure you are seeing — extra fingers, warped face, duplicated limbs — rather than rewriting the positive prompt.
  4. Adjust CFG, not the wording, for drift. The default of 0.5 is a deliberate middle. Raise it toward 0.8 when the model ignores your motion instruction; drop it toward 0.3 when the result looks stiff and over-literal.
  5. Shoot for it. A source photo with visible full limbs, even lighting and a clear subject-to-background separation animates far better than a tight crop or a busy group shot.

A worked example

Source: a waist-up portrait, natural daylight, subject facing three-quarters away from camera.

Prompt: The subject slowly turns her head toward the camera and gives a small, natural smile. Loose strands of hair drift in a light breeze. The camera pushes in very slightly over the shot. Preserve facial features, body proportions, clothing and lighting exactly as in the source image. Negative prompt: blur, distort, low quality, warped face, extra fingers. Duration 5 seconds, CFG 0.5.

That is 40 credits, $2.00. If the turn happens too fast, raise CFG to 0.7 and add a beat of stillness before the turn; if the face softens on the turn, the source photo is the problem, not the prompt. Once the 5-second version is right, rerun at 10 seconds for 80 credits.

When to pick a different model

V2.5 Turbo is no longer the newest Kling on VdoBloom, and at 40 credits for 5 seconds it is now one of the more expensive ways to buy Kling motion.

Read that table honestly: for most jobs, Kling V3 Turbo image-to-video does the same thing for a quarter of the credits and adds a 1080p option and durations from 3 to 15 seconds. The reasons to stay on V2.5 Turbo are narrow and real — it is a known quantity on the effect tabs, it is one of the models the story generator and the keyframe pipeline accept, and its motion character is smoother and less busy than V3 Turbo on close-up human subjects. If you have a workflow already tuned to it, keep it. If you are starting fresh, start on V3 Turbo.

Disclosure: VdoBloom is our platform. Competitor details were checked against their own site and we name the competitor as the better pick wherever that is true. Kuaishou sells Kling directly, and if Kling is the only model family you will ever use, buying a subscription from Kuaishou costs less per clip than buying credits that also reach 105+ other models. The trade-off is set out on our Kling comparison page. Frequently asked questions

Can Kling V2.5 Turbo do text-to-video?

No. It is registered as image-to-video only on VdoBloom. You must attach a photo. For text-to-video in the same family, use Kling V3 Turbo T2V or Kling 3.0 Omni.

Why can I not choose 1080p?

V2.5 Turbo exposes no quality or resolution setting at all — it is a single-tier model, and the frame shape follows your source image. If you need a resolution choice, Kling V3 Turbo offers 720p and 1080p.

What does 10 seconds cost?

80 credits, which is $4.00 at the Lite rate. Five seconds is 40 credits, $2.00. The cost per second is the same either way.

Does it generate sound?

No. V2.5 Turbo is silent. Kling 3.0 Omni is the variant in this family with native audio.

Why did my generation get refused?

Kling is tagged STRICT, the tightest content tier on VdoBloom. Swimwear, dance and fitness prompts that pass on the flexible models often fail here. Switch the model on the effect tab rather than rewriting the prompt.

Can I control the aspect ratio?

Only by cropping the source photo before you upload it. There is no aspect-ratio setting for this model.
