Seedance 2.0: Image to Video, Multi-Shot and 4K Guide

How to get 4K from Seedance 2.0, turn a photo into video with start and end frames, and write multi-shot prompts. Credit costs per resolution and length.

By VdoBloom Team

Seedance 2.0 can render native 4K on VdoBloom: pick Seedance 2, set the quality to 4K, and choose a length from 4 to 15 seconds. A 5-second 4K image-to-video clip costs 416 credits and a 15-second one 1,248. For image to video, upload a start frame (and an optional end frame); for multi-shot, write the prompt as timed shots such as [0-2s], [2-4s]. 4K is only on Seedance 2 itself. Seedance 2 Fast and Mini stop at 720p and Seedance 2.5 at 1080p, so for those the route to 4K is the video upscaler.

Quick facts

  • Resolutions: Seedance 2: 480p, 720p, 1080p, 4K. Seedance 2 Fast and Mini: 480p, 720p. Seedance 2.5: up to 1080p.
  • Length: 4 to 15 seconds per clip on the Seedance 2 family.
  • Shapes: 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, 3:4, 9:16 and 21:9.
  • Image input: a start frame, a start and end frame, or up to 9 reference images (references and frames cannot be mixed in one run).
  • Sound: Seedance 2 generates audio with the video by default.
  • Cost: 4K from 333 credits (4 seconds); a 5-second 720p clip is 82 credits on Seedance 2, 50 on Fast and 17 on Mini.
  • Free: 10 credits on signup, enough for a 5-second Seedance 2 Mini test at 480p (8 credits).

How do I get 4K videos from Seedance?

On VdoBloom, open image to video (or text to video), choose Seedance 2 in the model picker, and set Quality to 4K. The 4K option only appears on Seedance 2; the Fast and Mini versions are built for speed and price, and top out at 720p.

4K is expensive because every second is rendered at full size. Two habits keep the bill down:

  • Draft cheap first. Run the same prompt and image on Seedance 2 Mini at 480p (8 credits for 5 seconds) until the motion and framing are right.
  • Render only the keeper in 4K. Then switch to Seedance 2 at 4K for the final version. Results are not identical between runs, so expect small differences.

Native 4K or upscaling?

Native 4K means the model draws every frame at 4K, so fine detail such as hair, fabric and text is generated at that size. Upscaling takes a finished lower-resolution clip and rebuilds detail with an upscaler. On VdoBloom, the AI video upscaler uses Topaz to take a clip to 1080p or 4K and shows the exact price for your clip before it starts.

If you already made a clip you love at 720p or 1080p, upscaling it is usually the sensible step. If you are starting fresh and need the sharpest possible frame, native 4K is the choice.

How to use Seedance 2.0 for image to video

  1. Open image to video and pick Seedance 2. Use Mini for drafts, Fast for quicker mid-price clips, Seedance 2 for final quality or 4K.
  2. Upload the start frame. This photo becomes the first frame. Use a sharp image in the same shape as your output (9:16 for Reels, 16:9 for YouTube).
  3. Add an end frame if you want a set destination. With a start and end frame, Seedance animates the move between the two, which is useful for a door-to-room move or a before-and-after.
  4. Or use reference images instead. Up to 9 references (a person, a product, a location) guide who and what appears without fixing the first frame. You cannot combine references with start or end frames in the same run.
  5. Describe the motion, not the picture. The image already shows what things look like. Write what moves: “she turns toward the window, slow push-in, curtains move in the breeze”.
  6. Choose length, quality and shape, then generate. The price is on the button before you confirm.

How do I make a multi-shot video with Seedance 2.0?

Seedance 2 can cut between camera angles inside one clip when the prompt is written as a timed shot list. Start with one line that fixes the scene (who, where, light), then give each shot a time range, a camera and one action. Shots of about 2 seconds work well up to 15 seconds.

Example for a 10-second 9:16 clip from a cafe photo:

  • Scene: A young woman in a mustard sweater at a window table in a small cafe, soft morning light, same outfit and face throughout.
  • [0-2s] Wide shot: she sits down and sets her cup on the table.
  • [2-4s] Close-up on hands: steam rises as she wraps both hands around the cup.
  • [4-6s] Medium shot: she looks out of the window and smiles.
  • [6-8s] Over-the-shoulder: rain starts on the glass outside.
  • [8-10s] Slow pull-back: she opens a notebook as the camera drifts away.

Tips: one action per shot; repeat the fixed details (outfit, light) in the scene line; keep two people or fewer; and avoid asking for text on screen. Many VdoBloom tools, such as the real estate tour and the drama series generator, write these timed lists for you on the Seedance 2 family. Limits to know

  • One clip is 4 to 15 seconds. For longer videos, make several clips and join them.
  • 4K is Seedance 2 only.
  • Start/end frames and reference images cannot be used together in one run.
  • Faces can drift in fast action or crowded shots; fewer people and slower moves hold identity better.
  • Only upload photos of people who agreed to be animated.
