AI Drama Series Generator: Premise to Binge Cut
A step-by-step guide to making a short drama season with AI: premise, cast lock, voices, season plan, storyboard review, episodes and a binge cut.
An AI drama series generator turns one premise into a full season of short episodes. On the VdoBloom AI Drama Series Generator you write the premise, lock up to 4 characters and 3 locations, give each character a voice, let the AI write a free season plan, review a storyboard for each episode, and then film episodes that each start from the last frame of the one before. Title cards, captions and a binge cut finish the season. A 5-episode season with Seedance 2 Mini at 720p and 15-second episodes costs 290 credits in total.
This guide walks through every step in order. It explains what each setting does, where the credits go, and where you can save them. It is a how-to, not a diary: the numbers come from the current price list, not from one season we made.
What you need before you start
- A premise. One or two sentences are enough. For example: "A young chef inherits a failing restaurant and finds out her rival is her long-lost brother."
- Your main characters. A photo of each, or a short text description of face, hair and outfit.
- Your main places. A picture or a short description of each location.
- Some credits. New accounts get 10 free credits. Credits never expire, and you can buy credit packs with no subscription.
Step 1: Write the premise and pick the format
Open the generator and fill in the first screen. Each choice shapes the whole season, so take a minute here.
- Premise and title. The premise is required. The title is optional.
- Genre. Romance, CEO drama, Revenge, Fantasy, Comedy, Thriller, Kids episode, or your own.
- Format. "Serial with cliffhangers" carries one story across episodes and ends each one on a hook. "15 s twist endings" gives each episode its own short twist.
- Visual style. Live action, Anime, 3D animated, Comic or Kids cartoon.
- Aspect ratio. 9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts. 16:9 for YouTube and wide screens.
- Episode count. 3 to 10 episodes.
- Spoken language. English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Japanese, Korean or Chinese (Mandarin) on Seedance models.
If you are new to this, start with 3 to 5 episodes. A short season is cheaper to test, and you learn how the cast and style look before you commit to 10.
Step 2: Lock the cast and the locations
This is the step that keeps your show looking like one show. You can add up to 4 characters and up to 3 locations.
For each character, either upload a photo or describe the face, hair and outfit in text. The tool then makes a reference for each one:
- Character sheet: 5 credits, made from your description or photo. If you use your own photo as the reference, it is free.
- Location image: 5 credits each.
These references are reused in every episode. That is why the lead keeps the same face and outfit in episode 5 as in episode 1. Our guide to consistent AI characters across episodes explains this in more detail.
Tip: keep the cast small. Two or three strong characters and one or two locations make a tighter story and a cheaper season than a crowded cast.
Step 3: Give each character a voice
A drama needs voices that stay the same from episode to episode. For each character you have two options:
- Create a voice from a description. This is free, and you get 3 tries. Describe the voice, for example "warm, low, slightly tired male voice". If you leave the description blank, the voice is made from the character's face text, or from the character's photo if there is no text.
- Upload a recording. A clip of 2 to 15 seconds. Only upload a voice you have consent to use.
Every episode then uses that voice. Two limits to know: voices apply on Seedance models only (Wan 2.7 makes its own voices), and up to 3 speaking characters per episode get their locked voice. If you want to design voices on their own, see AI Voice Design.
Step 4: Review the season plan
Next, the AI writes the season plan. This step is free. The plan includes:
- Episode titles and summaries.
- Cliffhangers for each episode (in the serial format).
- Shot-by-shot actions.
- Dialogue, kept short: at most 8 words per line, and about half the shots have speech.
You can edit everything. Read it the way a script editor would. Does each episode end on a reason to watch the next? Is any line too long to say in a few seconds? Is a character acting out of type? Fixing a plan costs nothing. Fixing a filmed episode costs a new take.
The dialogue stays in the language you picked. The prompt locks the language, so lines are never translated, and the speech is spoken with native lip-sync.
Step 5: Check the storyboard before you film
For each episode, the tool first draws a storyboard grid for 5 credits. The grid size follows the episode length:
| Episode length | Storyboard panels |
|---|---|
| 10 seconds | 4 panels |
| 15 seconds | 6 panels |
| 30 seconds | 9 panels |
Look at every panel. Is the right character in the shot? Is the location correct? Does the action match the plan? If one panel is wrong, redraw just that panel for 5 credits. You only pay for the video once the storyboard looks right. This is the cheapest place in the whole workflow to catch a mistake.
If you want to try the storyboard idea on a single clip first, the Storyboard Video tool works the same way.
Step 6: Film the episodes in order
Once you approve the storyboard, the episode is filmed in one take. Each episode starts from the last frame of the previous episode. That frame is the continuity anchor: the scene, lighting and characters pick up where they left off. The cast sheets and the location image go in as references too.
Pick the model and resolution per episode. A quick guide:
- Seedance 2 Mini: the lowest cost. Good for drafts and full seasons on a small budget.
- Seedance 2 Fast: a middle option at 480p or 720p.
- Seedance 2: 480p, 720p or 1080p, for higher quality.
- Seedance 2.5: the only model that makes 30-second episodes.
- Wan 2.7: 10-second episodes only, at 720p or 1080p, with its own voices.
The full price table is in our post on what an AI short-drama episode costs. If a step fails, its credits are refunded automatically.
Step 7: Add title cards, captions and the binge cut
The last step turns separate episodes into something people can watch in one go.
- Title cards are on by default. Each episode opens with its title.
- Captions are optional. They appear word by word, which helps on phones where many people watch with the sound off.
- Binge cut joins all finished episodes into one video.
Post episodes one by one to build a following, and keep the binge cut for a longer upload or a "full season" post.
Worked cost example
Here is a full season with real numbers from the price list: 5 episodes, Seedance 2 Mini, 720p, 15 seconds each, with 2 character sheets and 1 location image.
| Item | Calculation | Credits |
|---|---|---|
| Season plan | Free | 0 |
| Voices from descriptions | Free | 0 |
| 2 character sheets | 2 × 5 | 10 |
| 1 location image | 1 × 5 | 5 |
| 5 storyboards | 5 × 5 | 25 |
| 5 episodes | 5 × 50 | 250 |
| Total | 290 |
If you use your own photos as character references, the two sheets are free and the total drops to 280. Each panel you redraw adds 5 credits.
Tips for a better season
- Write a strong hook for episode 1. In short drama, the first few seconds decide if people keep watching.
- Keep lines short. The 8-word limit is there because short lines fit a short shot and sound natural.
- Film in order. Each episode continues from the last frame of the one before, so the order matters.
- Draft cheap, then upgrade. Test the look with Seedance 2 Mini. Switch to a higher model only for the episodes that need it.
- Only use people who agreed. Upload photos and voices only of people who have given consent.

FAQ
What is an AI drama series generator?
It is a tool that turns a short premise into a season of short episodes. It writes the plan, keeps the characters and places the same, gives the characters voices and films each episode. On VdoBloom you can make 3 to 10 episodes per season.
How long can each episode be?
10 or 15 seconds on Seedance 2, Seedance 2 Fast and Seedance 2 Mini. Seedance 2.5 also offers 30-second episodes. Wan 2.7 makes 10-second episodes only.
Can I make an AI web series in another language?
Yes. On Seedance models you can pick English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Japanese, Korean or Chinese (Mandarin). The language is locked, so lines are spoken as written with native lip-sync and are never translated.
Is the season plan free?
Yes. The AI writes titles, summaries, cliffhangers, shots and dialogue for free, and you can edit all of it. You pay for character sheets, location images, storyboards and episode videos.
What happens if an episode fails?
A failed step is refunded automatically. You can then run it again.
Do I need a subscription?
No. You can buy credit packs, and credits never expire. New accounts get 10 free credits.
