Higgsfield vs Runway (2026): Models, Pricing and Features Compared

Higgsfield vs Runway compared on plans, credits, models, editing tools, unlimited modes and API, read from both vendors’ own pages in October 2026.

By VdoBloom Team

Pick Runway if you edit existing footage or want Runway’s own Gen-4.5 model: Aleph 2.0 video editing, native music and voice, Adobe plugins and a mature developer API are its strengths. Pick Higgsfield if you want the widest model menu (Seedance, Kling, Veo, Sora, Wan, Hailuo) plus character consistency, ad templates and camera presets on one subscription. Runway’s paid plans start at $15 a month ($12 billed annually) for 625 credits; Higgsfield’s start at $9 a month for 120 credits on the pricing page we were shown.

Updated October 2026.

Disclosure: VdoBloom is our platform. Neither Higgsfield nor Runway is affiliated with us. Every price and feature below was read on the vendor’s own site on 19 October 2026 and is linked to its source. Where one product is the better pick, we say so.

The short version

  • Editing footage you already shot: Runway. Aleph 2.0 has no direct equivalent on Higgsfield.
  • The most models on one balance: Higgsfield.
  • The same face across many clips: Higgsfield (Soul ID).
  • Product ads from a URL or a product photo: Higgsfield (Marketing Studio). Runway’s Reshoot Product app covers part of the same job.
  • Building it into your own app: Runway. Its API is documented model by model at $0.01 a credit.
  • Unlimited generations: Higgsfield has time-limited unlimited windows on selected models. Runway’s only “unlimited” is 4K upscaling.

Plans and prices

Runway publishes one plan line-up. Higgsfield’s varies: on 19 October 2026 higgsfield.ai/pricing showed us Basic, Pro and Max (below), but Higgsfield’s own comparison article (12 October) lists Starter, Plus and Ultra plans at $15, $49 and $129. The line-up seems to depend on region or a pricing test, so check the page you are shown before you subscribe.

Credits are not comparable one to one, because each platform prices its models differently. A clearer test is what one month buys. On Runway, Gen-4.5 costs 12 credits a second, so Standard’s 625 credits cover about 52 seconds of Gen-4.5 (Runway’s own figure). Higgsfield’s pricing page estimates Pro’s 600 credits at about 40 Seedance 2.5 videos or 300 Nano Banana Pro images. Two Higgsfield conditions to know: Basic only includes Seedance 2.0 Fast and 2.0 Mini, and the unlimited and free generations work only on higgsfield.ai, not through MCP, CLI, Canvas or Supercomputer, and slow down at busy times.

Where Runway is stronger

Runway is the better tool when the footage already exists. Aleph 2.0 lets you edit one frame and carries that change through a clip of up to 30 seconds, and the apps for removing objects, relighting and swapping backdrops are single-purpose and quick. Gen-4.5, launched on 1 December 2025, is only on Runway. Runway lists its weak spots openly: effects sometimes come before their causes, and objects can appear or vanish between frames. Native music, voice and sound effects, voice cloning, Adobe plugins and studio export formats on Max make Runway the more natural fit for post-production teams. Its API is the most fully documented of the two, with a per-model credit table that includes Veo 3.1 and Kling 3.0.

Where Higgsfield is stronger

Higgsfield gives you more models to choose from. Its rate card runs from cheap Seedance 1.5 clips to Sora 2 Pro Max and Veo 3.1 at 1080p, and it carries older versions too. Soul ID is the feature Runway lacks most clearly: you train an identity once from your photos and reuse it, which matters for creator and influencer content. Cinema Studio 4.0 turns lens, camera move, lighting and era into menu choices, with clips up to 30 seconds. Marketing Studio builds ad sets from a product URL or photos using over 1,500 templates. Heavy users of Kling 3.0 or Nano Banana 2 also get unlimited windows on Pro and Max.

Same prompt, different models

Both platforms run Seedance 2.5 and Kling 3.0, and only Runway runs Gen-4.5, so the useful test is model against model on one prompt. In the grids below, check skin texture and whether the face stays the same through the motion.

For product shots, look at reflections and whether the label text survives the camera move.

For scenes with several people, count the hands and watch for characters merging when they cross.

For poster text, read the headline letter by letter. Both platforms offer Nano Banana Pro for images.

Where VdoBloom fits

If you mainly want to try several of these models without committing to a subscription, VdoBloom is a third option. It runs Runway Gen-4.5 and Gen-4 Turbo next to Seedance 2.5, Kling 3.0, Veo 3.1 and Nano Banana Pro, all on one credit balance in the text-to-video and image-to-video tools. Credits are pay-as-you-go and one-time packs never expire, starting at $10.39 for 200 credits. VdoBloom also has clear limits. It has no Aleph-style editing of existing footage, no unlimited mode, no trained character identity like Soul ID, and no ProRes or HDR export. If you need any of those, pick Runway or Higgsfield. FAQ

Is Higgsfield cheaper than Runway?

At entry level, Higgsfield’s Basic plan costs less ($9 vs $12–$15) but includes far fewer credits and only Seedance 2.0 Fast and Mini. Credits are priced differently on each platform, so compare the cost of the model you will actually use. See our Higgsfield pricing breakdown.

Can I use Runway Gen-4.5 on Higgsfield?

No. Gen-4.5 is not on Higgsfield’s rate card. It is available on Runway and through Runway’s API. Our Runway Gen-4 review covers the Gen-4 family.

Does either have truly unlimited generation?

Not open-ended. Higgsfield offers 7-day unlimited windows on selected models on Pro and Max, on its website only and subject to speed limits. Runway’s unlimited covers 4K upscaling, not generation.

Do unused credits carry over?

On Runway, only on Max (one month), and purchased top-ups never expire. On Higgsfield, individual-plan credits reset each month.
