One photo or two — and why that choice matters
Bridal Carry has a photo-count toggle. Both modes are legitimate, but they behave differently:
- Two photos. Upload Person 1 and Person 2 separately. The prompt that gets sent describes the man lifting the woman in a romantic bridal carry, and both uploaded faces are carried into the scene. This is the mode for real couples.
- One photo. Upload a single person and the AI generates the partner doing the lifting. The prompt phrasing shifts to a man lifting the person in the photo, so your subject is the one being carried and the second figure is invented. The tab default prompt is a man lifting a woman in a romantic bridal carry, tender and loving, cinematic quality. You can rewrite it in the prompt box — for example to specify a saree, a tuxedo, or a church aisle — but keep the lift verb intact or the model may substitute a hug.
Which photos actually work
Bridal Carry is a direct effect: your image goes straight to the video model without an intermediate keyframe stage. That makes it fast, and it also makes input quality matter more than on the keyframe tabs.
- Full body or at least waist-up. A lift needs legs and arms to exist somewhere in the frame. Headshots produce floating torsos.
- Both subjects photographed at a similar distance in two-photo mode. Wildly different crops make one person render at the wrong scale.
- Standing, front-facing poses. Seated or heavily angled photos give the model a bad starting geometry for a lift.
- Clean separation from the background. Outfit edges that blend into the backdrop smear during the lift motion.
- Portrait 9:16 if this is going to Reels, Shorts or a WhatsApp status, which is where most of these clips end up.
Models and credit costs
In one-photo mode Bridal Carry offers the wide image-to-video roster. The exact steps
- Open the Bridal Carry tab. A new account starts with 10 free credits and no card, which is exactly one Runway Gen-3 720p five-second render.
- Set the photo count. Two photos for a real couple, one photo if the partner should be generated.
- Upload under Upload Person 1 and, in two-photo mode, Upload Person 2. Full-body or waist-up, similar crop, front-facing.

Fixing the three failures that actually happen
The result is a hug, not a lift. The prompt got softened. Restore the template default, or write a prompt that keeps the words lifting and bridal carry in it.
One face is wrong in two-photo mode. This is the single most common complaint, and the fix is the model, not the prompt. Runway Gen-3 is the cheapest test but not the most faithful to two identities at once; Seedance 2 Fast at 50 credits handles paired references far better, and Kling V2.5 Turbo holds bodies best during the motion itself.
Limbs tangle at the handoff. Shorten the clip. Five seconds contains far fewer opportunities for an arm to bend backwards than ten, and it halves the credit cost while you are still iterating.
