What Nano Banana Pro is best at

Pro is the Nano Banana tier you reach for when the image has a deliverable attached to it. Three things justify its higher credit cost over the rest of the family. It renders at 4K, so a print piece or a hero image that will be cropped hard does not need an external upscaler in the chain. It edits as well as generates, taking up to 8 uploaded images, which means you can fix a render rather than re-rolling it. Its aspect menu is the classic ten-option set: 1:1, 2:3, 3:2, 3:4, 4:3, 4:5, 5:4, 9:16, 16:9 and 21:9. The 1K-versus-2K trap

Because 1K and 2K both cost 18 credits, the default 1K setting is the single most common way to waste money on this model. If your output is going anywhere near a retina screen, set 2K and pay nothing extra. Reserve 1K only for cases where you genuinely want smaller files. The step to 4K is the only one that costs more, and it costs a third more, not double — six extra credits, or $0.30 at the Lite rate.

How to prompt Nano Banana Pro

Pro rewards specificity about the physical scene rather than adjectives about quality. Write the subject, the material and finish, the lighting setup with direction, the camera framing, and finally the composition constraint. “A brushed-aluminium travel mug on a pale oak table, single softbox from the upper left, faint reflection on the tabletop, 50mm, three-quarter view, subject in the lower third, clean space above for a headline” is a brief the model can execute. Words like premium, stunning and 8K add nothing the resolution selector is not already doing.

• State the resolution intent in your head, not the prompt. Asking for 4K in text does nothing; the selector is what controls output size.
• Assign roles to reference images. With up to 8 inputs, say which image supplies the subject, which supplies the wardrobe or packaging, and which supplies the setting.
• Pick the ratio before the prompt. A composition written for 21:9 falls apart at 4:5, so choose the delivery format first and describe the framing for it.
• Iterate cheaply elsewhere. At 18 credits a run, exploration is expensive on Pro — use the drafting tier for that, then bring the finished prompt here.
