Where to Use Seedance 2.5 in 2026: Platforms Compared

Where you can run Seedance 2.5 today: Dreamina, Higgsfield, Runway, fal, Replicate, KIE, BytePlus and VdoBloom, compared on modes, length and resolution.

By VdoBloom Team

You can use Seedance 2.5 in ByteDance’s own Dreamina app, in creator platforms such as Higgsfield, Runway and VdoBloom, and through APIs on fal, Replicate, KIE and BytePlus ModelArk. All of them run the same model, with clips of up to 30 seconds and audio generated alongside the video. What changes from one to the next is the maximum resolution (most stop at 720p, and only a few offer native 1080p), which input modes you get, and whether you pay through a subscription, per API call or with pay-as-you-go credits.

Disclosure: VdoBloom is our platform.

What Seedance 2.5 is, in one paragraph

Seedance 2.5 is ByteDance’s follow-up to Seedance 2, released at the end of July 2026 and rolled out to partner platforms in early August. Its headline change is length: one generation runs anywhere from 4 to 30 seconds, where Seedance 2 stops at 15. It accepts text, a first and optional last frame, and image, video and audio references, and it generates sound in the same pass. Resolution is the spec that varies most between platforms.

Every platform we could verify, side by side

We checked each platform’s own pages, documentation or changelog in October 2026. Prices change often and depend on your region and plan, so the table shows how each platform charges. For current figures, use each vendor’s pricing page.

Some other sites also list Seedance 2.5, including ComfyUI’s partner nodes (text-to-video and reference-to-video templates since 8 August), OpenArt, Magnific and Pollo. We couldn’t confirm resolution and length on their own pages, so they aren’t in the table.

What really separates the options

Resolution: 720p is the common ceiling

Most Seedance 2.5 routes stop at 720p. fal’s model page offers 480p and 720p only. Runway’s help centre lists 480p and 720p. Higgsfield launched at 480p and 720p, said in its changelog that 4K came from upscaling, and added 1080p as early access on 14 August. Native 1080p is on KIE’s API and on VdoBloom, where 1080p uses 10-bit colour. 10-bit gives you more room when you colour grade. For a phone-first social clip, 720p is usually enough.

Length: everyone says 30 seconds, but plans can cap it

Every platform we checked advertises 30 seconds. Some subscriptions cap the length of each clip by plan, though. Higgsfield says its per-clip limit rises with your tier and with annual billing, and Dreamina’s own pricing page says the 30 seconds it uses in cost examples does not guarantee a single 30-second generation. On VdoBloom, every whole second from 4 to 30 is open to anyone with enough credits.

Input modes and reference video

Reference video is the mode to check for. It lets you hand the model a clip to follow for motion or to edit and extend. fal, Replicate, KIE, Runway and VdoBloom all accept it. Expect to pay for the reference clip’s seconds as well as the output’s: fal, KIE and VdoBloom all bill reference video this way, at a lower per-second rate than plain generation.

Pricing model: subscription, API or credits

Dreamina, Higgsfield and Runway sell monthly or annual plans, and some of them run time-limited unlimited windows for Seedance 2.5 on their higher tiers. The APIs (fal, Replicate, BytePlus) bill per call and suit developers who need code, not an editor. VdoBloom uses one-time credit packs that never expire. You don’t need a subscription, and the same balance works on more than a hundred other image and video models.

Seedance 2.5 on VdoBloom: exact prices

On VdoBloom you pay a fixed number of credits per second, depending on resolution. Text-to-video, first/last frame and reference images all cost the same. One credit is $0.05 at the Lite rate ($15 for 300 credits).

ResolutionPer second4 s (minimum)10 s30 s
480p11.2 credits45 credits112 credits336 credits
720p25.2 credits101 credits252 credits756 credits
1080p (10-bit)63.2 credits253 credits632 credits1,896 credits

With a reference video, the rate drops to 6.8, 15.2 or 38 credits per second at 480p, 720p and 1080p. It then applies to the reference clip’s length plus the output’s. For example, a 10-second 720p output with a 5-second reference is 15 billed seconds, or 228 credits. Audio is included in every rate. The full per-second ladder is on the Seedance 2.5 price page.

Where Seedance 2.5 appears inside VdoBloom

  • Text to Video: choose Seedance 2.5 in the model picker for a prompt-only clip of 4 to 30 seconds. You can add reference video or audio here too.
  • Image to Video: your photo becomes the first frame. Because of that, the source photo sets the output’s aspect ratio, so crop it before you upload. If the photo shows a real person, you need their consent to generate or publish the video.
  • Seedance Effects: preset effects and Looks can run on Seedance 2.5 with the same 4–30 second range, if you want a template rather than a blank prompt.

For specs and sample clips, see the Seedance 2.5 model page. If you can’t decide between 2.5 and the older model, our Seedance 2 vs 2.5 comparison covers the 4K versus 30-second trade-off.

How to get a good first take cheaply

A 30-second 1080p take is the most expensive generation in the Seedance family, so don’t go straight to it. Here is the workflow we suggest on any platform, with VdoBloom’s numbers:

  1. Draft the motion at 480p, short. A 6-second 480p run costs 68 credits. Use it to check one thing: does the action read correctly? Is the camera move right, does the subject do what you asked, are hands and faces stable? Resolution won’t answer those questions, and 480p is enough to judge them.
  2. Rehearse the full length once at 480p. Long takes go wrong in the middle, where pacing sags or a second action never arrives. A 20-second 480p rehearsal costs 224 credits.
  3. Change one thing at a time. Keep the prompt, aspect ratio and references fixed, and edit a single phrase between runs. That way you know which change fixed the clip.
  4. Render the final once, at the resolution you will publish. 720p for most social clips, 1080p if you will grade the footage or show it large.

For a 20-second 1080p shot, two 480p rehearsals plus the final come to 1,556 credits. Three blind 1080p attempts cost 3,792. Some other platforms build this into the product: Higgsfield has a 480p Draft Mode (not available in the US), and KIE’s API has a draft flag.

Verdict by use case

You live in the CapCut ecosystem: Dreamina is the most direct route, made by the same company that built the model, and it sits next to CapCut’s editor.

You want an all-in-one creative suite with heavy reference control: Higgsfield and Runway both offer 50-reference workflows and editing tools around the model. Their subscriptions make most sense if you generate every week.

You are building an app or pipeline: fal, Replicate, KIE or BytePlus ModelArk. Choose by the resolution you need (KIE lists 1080p, fal stops at 720p) and how each one bills.

You want native 1080p in a browser without a subscription: VdoBloom. It has 10-bit 1080p, every length from 4 to 30 seconds, and credits that never expire. The limits: new accounts get 10 free credits, which is below the 45-credit minimum run, so plan on a small top-up (packs start at $10.39 for 200 credits). We also don’t offer a separate draft mode, so you draft at 480p yourself.

You need more than 30 seconds: no platform generates that in one take. Plan cuts, or extend a clip with a reference-video pass.

FAQ

Is Seedance 2.5 free anywhere?

Not permanently, as far as we could verify. KIE gives new API users 80 trial credits, Higgsfield has a short new-user trial, and Dreamina runs promotions that change often. On VdoBloom, the 10 signup credits are not enough for a Seedance 2.5 run.

Can Seedance 2.5 make 4K video?

Not natively on any platform we checked. Where you see 4K, it comes from an upscaling step. If you need native 4K from ByteDance’s models, Seedance 2 has a 4K tier, with a 15-second limit.

Is Seedance 2.5 the same model on every platform?

The underlying model is ByteDance’s, but each platform chooses which resolutions, lengths and input modes to expose, and applies its own content rules.

What is the cheapest way to try it on VdoBloom?

A 4-second 480p clip at 45 credits. For cheaper motion tests in the same family, Seedance 2 Mini is the lowest-cost Seedance model on the platform.
