Where to Use Seedream 5.0 in 2026: Platforms Compared

Where you can use Seedream 5 Lite, Pro and Flash today: ByteDance apps, subscriptions, developer APIs and VdoBloom, with resolution and free tiers.

By VdoBloom Team

You can use Seedream 5.0 in three kinds of places. ByteDance runs its own app, Dreamina (by CapCut), and an official API on BytePlus ModelArk. Creative suites such as Higgsfield include it in a subscription. Developer APIs such as fal.ai, Replicate and KIE charge per image. On VdoBloom you get Seedream 5 Lite, Seedream 5.0 Pro and Seedream 5 Flash in one picker, pay per image in credits (2 to 19 per image depending on the variant), and need no subscription.

The Seedream 5 family in one paragraph

“Seedream 5” is a family of ByteDance image models, and each platform offers a different subset of it, so check the variant name before you check the price. Seedream 5.0 Lite is the general-purpose model. It generates from a prompt or edits from reference images, and ByteDance positions it around reasoning and up-to-date world knowledge. Seedream 5.0 Pro is the flagship, built for precise local edits, layouts, infographics and text inside the image, and it takes up to 10 reference images. Seedream 5.0 Flash is the fast, low-cost member. It handles text to image and editing, and it can also split a picture into separate layers. Some platforms carry all three, while many carry only Lite or only Pro.

Where Seedream 5 is available: platforms compared

We checked every platform below on its own website in October 2026. Prices and plan contents change often, so treat the price column as a description of how you pay and confirm current numbers on the vendor’s pricing page.

Where a host’s limit differs from ByteDance’s, we used the host’s number, because that is the one you will hit: fal.ai’s Lite edit keeps only the last 10 references, while Replicate’s Lite accepts 14. Sites that say “Seedream 5” without naming a variant are left out.

ByteDance’s own options: Dreamina and ModelArk

Dreamina is the easiest first stop if you want to try the model straight from its maker. Its image generator lists both Seedream 5.0 Pro and Seedream 5.0 Lite, next to other models, and gives free daily credits. You can pick Standard 1.5K, High 2K or Ultra 4K output where the model supports it. It suits people who already edit in CapCut and want images in the same ecosystem.

BytePlus ModelArk is ByteDance’s official API for international developers. It is the closest thing to a source of truth for Pro: the official endpoint, priced by output size in a 1.5K tier and a 2K tier. Using it means an API key, code and billing setup, so it fits teams building their own product more than individual creators.

Subscription suites: Higgsfield

Higgsfield carries both Seedream 5.0 Lite and Seedream 5.0 Pro in its image tools, and it bundles image and video models into monthly plans with periodic “Unlimited” offers. Its strength is breadth. You get video generation, camera-control presets and many image models under one login, which suits creators who generate every day. The trade-off is that you pay a recurring subscription, and the new-user trial needs a card and renews into a paid plan. Higgsfield changes its plan names and prices often, so compare on its pricing page on the day you buy.

Developer APIs: fal.ai, Replicate and KIE

If you are writing code, the API hosts are the direct route. fal.ai has Seedream 5.0 Lite for text to image and edit at up to 9 MP (3072×3072), plus a Seedream 5.0 Pro text-to-image endpoint. Replicate lists both Lite (2K or 3K, up to 14 references) and Pro (1K or 2K, up to 10 references). KIE lists Seedream 5.0 Pro and Seedream 5.0 Flash in its model market and also serves Lite. Flash on KIE includes the layer-decomposition mode.

All three bill per image or per call, so you only pay for what you run. You also handle the uploads, the polling, the storage of results and the content checks yourself. For a creator with no backend, that is real work.

Seedream 5 on VdoBloom: variants and exact credit prices

VdoBloom offers every Seedream 5 variant to every account, in the same picker as the other image models, with the price shown before you generate. Credits are bought in one-time packs, never expire and need no subscription. Here is what each variant costs today:

Variant on VdoBloomWhat it doesOutputCredits per image
Seedream 5 Lite Text-to-ImageGenerate from a prompt2K (basic) or 4K (high), 8 aspect ratios6
Seedream 5 Lite I2IEdit or combine photos2K or 4K, up to 14 input images6
Seedream 5.0 ProText to image and precise edits, layouts, text in imageStandard or High, 5 aspect ratios, up to 10 references10 (Standard) / 19 (High)
Seedream 5 FlashFast, low-cost generation1K or 2K, 8 aspect ratios, prompts up to 5,000 characters2
Seedream 5 Flash EditFast edits1K or 2K, up to 10 input images4
Layer Split (Flash)Split one image into separate layersAll layers from one run16 per run

Text-to-image runs live on the AI image generator, and the edit variants run on the AI photo editor. In credit terms, a Flash draft costs 2, a Lite render costs 6 at either resolution, and one Pro High finish costs 19. A practical pattern is to draft five compositions on Flash (10 credits), then run the one you keep on Pro High (19 credits), which comes to 29 credits for the set.

VdoBloom has limits you should know about. Pro’s Standard and High labels are relative tiers, because the edit path delivers about 1K/2K and the text-to-image path about 1.5K/2K, and Pro tops out at 2K, so it has no 4K option here. Pro also has five aspect ratios, against eight on Lite and Flash. VdoBloom has no public API, so developers who need Seedream inside their own app should use ModelArk or one of the API hosts. Prompts are checked before you are charged, and content rules apply.

Verdict by use case

  • You want to try Seedream 5 free, straight from ByteDance: Dreamina, with its free daily credits.
  • You are building an app or batch pipeline: BytePlus ModelArk for the official Pro endpoint, or fal.ai, Replicate or KIE if you want one API for many models.
  • You create video and images every day and like a single monthly bill: Higgsfield’s subscription bundles fit that pattern.
  • You want Lite, Pro and Flash side by side without a subscription: VdoBloom. You pay per image in credits that never expire, and other image and video models sit in the same account.
  • You need many cheap drafts: Seedream 5 Flash at 2 credits on VdoBloom, or Flash through KIE’s API.
  • You need text, layouts or precise local edits: Seedream 5.0 Pro, available on most platforms in the table.
